Dr could not call in our emergency prescription while we were vacationing in Ojai. Did not answer phone when we called. Do not recommend.

If you need a valentine's card and a pillow emblazoned with a peacock, as I did, this is the place. The checker pointed out they had handmade embroidered cards, one with a peacock on it, and they were darling too. The store is a classic old timey slow paced drug store with a pharmacy in back and various arts and crafts items and over the counter drugs up front. This is a nice little pharmacy next to the Vons in Ojai. It's a medium sized store and also has a lot of health care products and some home decor type items too. The staff are friendly and the prices are all right. I usually come here to buy gifts for people or to buy nice greeting cards. The selection isn't huge, but is varied and the quality of their products is very good. Worth a stop if you're in the area. read more

I'll be transferring my prescriptions. They're not at all HIPPA compliant, and I have had an embarrassing conversation with the pharmacist in front of other customers. They also had promised to have a medication I used in stock and so far they've been out of stock three times in the last year. read more

I've been coming here for a few years as Rite Aid didn't take my insurance, and I can safely say that I would much rather go to another pharmacy. The staff makes me incredibly uncomfortable, I called in for a refill request to be sent to a new Dr.'s office and the woman on the phone was impatient and rude, and there is a male pharmacist there that acts very strangely whenever I call to get a birth control refill. He is polite to me until I tell him what the prescription is for, and then after that gets me off the phone as quickly as possible. Not cool read more

A blessing in today's world. When my 93 yr-old father had 7 different doctors from 3 different counties all prescribing various medications, the pharmacy here was my life-saver. They kept an eye on the different meds and the reactions that one could cause with another. They were so helpful in dealing with the insurance companies and with hospice. They go out of their way to be sure you have the prescriptions you need, even when you forget to order the refills on time. They work with you every step of the way. Absolutely the BEST!! read more

Not many classic Rexalls left out here. This particular one has the largest selection of sugar-free candy I've ever seen.

Seems like one of the last old fashioned drug stores. Now that I have to go to a nasty Rite Aid I really appreciate how helpful and small town friendly this place really was. It is fun to look at all the nick nacks while you wait for your prescriptions, you will probably leave with a few things you don't need but can't live without. read more

These folks could NOT be more unfriendly. The person at the counter is hard of hearing and asks multiple times for your name - I don't like to shout my name or my prescription so the entire store can hear me. Hello! Patient confidentiality much? The dark haired female pharmacist LOVES to tell me that the rx isn't covered by my health insurance, I swear! Hours are not convenient for working folks - and the counter woman actually told me (perhaps she believes it to be true!) that it was illegal for pharmacies to call doctors more than once every 48 hours. I wanted to ask her for the statute name so I could look that up, but decided that it wouldn't help an already crazy-making situation. If you have to go here, just be ready! read more

I would rather visit a "pharmacy" in Tijuana . The support staff are rude and judgemental. They make you feel like you're visiting a probation office instead of a drugstore. If you want to be interrogated by the the church lady then this is the place for you. Otherwise let some other glorified pill counter help you someplace else. read more

OK so I'm biased!!! This is my parents store and I was raised here. They expanded a couple years ago and have continued to do well. Everyone in the pharmacy tries their damnedest to get people their prescriptions quickly and with good service. My dad will answer any question you ask him to the nth degree (he's the pharmacist with the beard and blue eyes like me!) And my mom does her best job getting in beautiful gift items. They just expanded the store to have more home health care items such as scooters, walkers, and mechanical lifting arm chairs which was a big deal! The staff I can go on and on about especially the long term people. They became like family to me and as I worked there myself know that they care about almost all the people that they are helping. The "new kids" are doing the store justice and seem to be working out wonderfully! So here is what I recommend. Take your prescription here and wander around all the aisles while you wait, talk to the staff and smell the yummy candles. I hope you enjoy the experience! read more

"discrimination to children" a word i don't use lightly..my granddaughter and i were treated so horribly by entering this drug store,if you have children with you please beware you will be watched on every turn you make sales clerks making you so uncomfortable,i drove here to visit my family here in ojai thought gifts would be lovely to bring them,my grandchild is a very well behaved child who we have taken great pride in raising her with an appreciation for people,places and things,i answered my phone my grandaughter within arms reach,sales clerk nancy said this is not a day care!! i was in shock of her comment,i said excuse me!!!! her store owner was quickly called no apology,no response of concern about this being said,please do not shop at this store where unprofessionalism,discrimination and racism is their way of customer service. read more

FYI, they miscounted my antibiotics and when I got home and realized they shorted me half of my meds they refused to admit that it could have been their error and correct the mistake, ended up having to ask my doctor to call in another prescription of course to different pharmacy, then had to pay full price because insurance would not cover because rexall said they already filled for the right amount. read more

This pharmacy has a small-town feel. You are treated like a person and not like a number at Rite-Aid. You can also drop off a prescription, go shopping at Vons and come back 15 minutes later and your prescription is ready. At Rite-Aid it is almost always an hour at least. Very friendly staff. read more

I moved to Ojai 5 months ago and found this pharmacy to be a really refreshing change from the hectic, long lines and usually strange faces of the big city chains.
