Great local tradition with SO many vendors offering all manner of stuff. Car parts, toys, clothes, produce, kitchenware, furniture...what do you need? It may (or may not) be here in any given Sunday. Sellers pay $25 to get in (unless selling produce; they pay more) and start their day when gates open to them at 5 a.m. for setup. Pickers arrive super early to try to snag deals for resale online or elsewhere in the market. Watch out for those trying to strike bargains that really can be a disservice to sellers. Know your worth unless you really don't care and just want to clean out your overstock. Buyers pay a buck to walk in. Great deal! As a seller, this place is kind of a drag because most buyers really don't want to pay anywhere near what your stuff is worth. If you need to make some money and have the time and access, sell through Craigslist or other service. That's what your buyers here will do with the stuff you sold them too cheaply. read more

Your typical swap meet, opens at 6AM but you can pay $10/per car if you want to go in earlier than that. $3 per car after 6AM or $1 for walk-ins. They have a little of everything but it seemed that it was mostly used/yard sale type vendors. Some vendors had toys that were (WAY) over priced for being toys (not collectibles, and if they were, they were not mint/clean/worth that much). Awsome weekend go to place. For the past year or so we've been going to the swap meet every Sunday. Each time we go we find great deals. All the vendors are nice and are not afraid to bargain. You'll see new vendors every weekend so you will always see something new. We've also had the opportunity to sell and came out very happy. People who come here are ready to buy. read more

Some days are slow, but I always do well. I do better in the first hour or two. Also you want to be prepared to sell things cheap. This is a great place to get rid of items, as long as they have some value. I typically can get two or three times the price selling online or in a store, so this is mainly clutter removal. As a buyer, I have found tems that I have resold and can turn a decent profit. But that is still few and far between, and is mainly just for fun. There are better sources if you're a picker. read more

We have been going to the drive in and swap meet for over 20 years. Always pretty nice people, and usually stop and have some menudo. But this Sunday we brought our miniature dachshund under our coat and the older lady selling the tickets saw his nose and told us there were no dogs allowed and we should put him back in the car. Since we know our dog is very quiet and harmless we just kept him covered and went in the other side. On the first row we saw 2 dogs, and two more on the second row. Do you just have to be old to get your dog in? My wife just finished 16 chemo treatments last month and she can't bring our dog in? So we probably won't go back. read more

This swap meet allows cigarette smoking. There are children as well as non-smoking adults walking down isles that are narrow where trying to avoid second hand smoke is impossible. The owners have not posted a sign at the front and back entrance gates warning people that entering this swap meet will expose you and your children to second hand smoke, so at least you can make an informed decision as to whether or not you want to be exposed to second hand smoke. San Luis Obispo has a non-smoking in public law, and even if the swap meet is privately owned, the public is invited and paying to be there. This then makes this swap meet a public area where it is against the law to smoke in public there, period. The owners are also not doing anything about people bringing dogs. I suppose since the sellers who bring dogs are paying customers, they just look the other way. What's good about this swap meet? Besides people selling cheap, new Chinese schlock, there are some bargains to be had, and some nice folks to chat with. I hope more people will help with demanding that the owners stop the cigarette smoking and people bringing dogs. It takes a community, class action to bring about change for the better. Terrible experience today. My 2 year old granddaughter was nearly mauled by a dog owned by one of the vendors. Thank goodness her aunt was able to pull her out of the way. Come to find out 1. Dogs aren't allowed 2. One of the other vendors told us that the dog has done the same thing before. To make it worse the person in charge of swap meet couldn't have cared less. Terrible!! read more

The last time I was at the swap meet was about a year or so ago and it was packed and all the vendors had lots of goodies out, so the swap meet experience I had today may be due to Covid effects, but was really lacking. It was about 1/3 full with vendors, there were tons of spaces left empty. The vendors were still slowly pulling their items from their cars around 6:30, so it felt like there was no reason to be there by the time the doors opened to general public at 6:00am - there still wasn't much of anything out to look through at 6 and we just walked around while they took their time. The vendors were definitely selling garage sale and junk store type of items, there weren't any booths with vintage clothes, no antiques, barely any jewelry. It was very random and things like regular old toys were way over priced; not even collectable. Definitely don't come looking for car parts. It was ok, but I won't be back for a good while. There might not be the crowds that there usually would be without Covid, but there are definitely not great vendors and items out right now either. read more

If you love rummaging through items to fund the one thing you didn't know you were looking for, this is the place! I love antiques and items for a good price. Found a lovely coffee table. This is how a swap meet should be. Keep in mind they start cleaning up early. My husband and I got there about 10 and people were already packing to leave at about 1030am. read more

I would rate this swap meet 3.5 to 4 stars (I am very critical of everything) but find a couple reviews to be unfair. If you are looking for the San Jose "everything is new and like an outlet center" type of swap meet, or indoor shops that call themselves a swap meet, this is not the right place. If you love garage sales and thrift shops, you will love it here. I sell here somewhat regularly and have seen things go up and down. It is different almost every time. Yes, there are regular dealers that grab their same space every week, but there is so much variety in the other spaces that you can find some real bargains. I have been to a huge variety of swap meets and flea markets local and outside our area, and find this one to be run like just about all other basic swap meets. Yes, they charge for buyers, but so do Nipomo and Santa Maria. It is not uncommon to charge entry. If you need parking inside, get there early. Gates open about 6 am (or earlier) and you can be sure of getting a parking space if you go early. If you are selling, get there well before 8 am to get a space on busy days. Get there early just to be sure. Check it out and there will probably be lots of stuff you will like. Don't look for all new vendors. One of the nice things is that there are "junk" and home yard sale sellers there for lots of variety. You will also find antiques, fruits and vegetables, music, and clothing at some new merchandise dealers. Don't sell it short, it is a fun place to shop when I am not selling, and I have found things I am looking for almost all the time. read more

For business side of it (Fly Buy Phone Fix), we enjoy the ease of getting a spot and the fact that you can either call ahead to reserve or just go and take the first come first serve spots. This is a true swap meet: you will find older cool antique dealer stuff mixed in with newer garage sale stuff. There's always fruits and veggies and generally a taco truck selling food. There's an ATM in the Movie Snack Bar but don't count on it always working. There's also an electric plug on the side of the Snack Bar to test something out. If you like the "good" junk, plan on getting there as soon as it opens because many dealers shop it first and then open their space. If you are into the newer stuff, a little later is usually fine. This place can't be compared to Rosebowl or Alameda, but we've always found something there. Parking can be a hassle and mostly on dirt, so plan to get muddy if it rains. Owners are very friendly and it costs $1 to get in (well worth it). We usually hit it at 6 am, grab a taco and then go out to breakfast afterwards. read more

This is a true swap meet and it goes full spectrum. It ranges from yard sale sellers to more commercialized venders. I love picking through the stuff, getting some food, and just having a leisurely good time. The parking isn't perfect, but whatever, I thoroughly enjoy it and prefer it to more commercialized venues. read more

You know I like swap meets, just not this one. This place is a circus, and charging you anything to get in is a crime. What are they charging you for, it sure isn't the parking because there is none. You can park in the small narrow dirt lot along the front of the area and bottom out your car in the huge holes, or park half a mile down the street. If your into buying junk go to garage sales instead and save some sanity. read more

Don't even bother. The people who run it are really unorganized and haven't been opening up the swapmeet on sundays even though hundreds of vendors show up for it. 2 for 2 back to back. Terrible. Some vendors live on what they make from this market, I'm sure most of them, if not all of them would prefer a better, more reliable market. Get your crap together or announce that it's cancelled. It's a great swap-meet! We don't live in a big area so it's not a huge deal. It's a fun place to stroll around Sunday morning and I always come home with a arm full! I've found some great items... just have to take your time just like any other swap-meet. read more

Wow...I am so surprised at the other reviews. To be successful at this one, you need to shop early (6-9am) as they start leaving around 11am. I have found some rare goodies at this one for great prices (red kitchen aid teapot for $3; antique kitchen aid mixer; works great; for $15 ;Llmas leather cowboy boots; antique lamps; cornflower blue corning wear sets; hand crocheted beanies for $1 ...)...& everyone will bargain with you. It is an old-fashioned swap meet, no commercial repeats here! The admission is one dollar...what is wrong with $1.00!! And I have always parked in swap meet lot or down the street. The remaining vendors leave this one & go south where that one is just starting to get good about 11am....now if you want commercial repeats, go there! read more
