I spent about an hour calling every single Locksmith in the Charlotte area I could find for quotes. Every place I called tried to win me over with this "$19" service charge but said that each lock would be anywhere from "$29-$49" and that they wouldn't know until they arrived. Plus they try to win you over by sending out someone to quote, and that they "won't do any work without your approval," but you would still owe the $19 service charge. VALUE ADD: I don't like signing up for anything without a clear understanding of what I'm getting into which is why I made the choice to go with Consolidated Locksmiths. After spending 1-minute with them on the phone, I was relieved that I finally found a company who was providing me clarity into the two things I was looking for: 1) what they were going to charge me and 2) what was included in that price. They assured me that they don't play around with this guessing game, and they give you a clear understanding of what they will charge you before arrival. They were able to get me in the next day and were able to change my locks in 15-minutes! TOTAL COST: They have a flat $65 service charge plus $10/lock. So for two locks it will cost $85 total - and this includes tax. They give you 3 keys included with this purchase, and its about $3 for each one after that. They accept all major credit cards as well. They were an hour late to my appointment and were super apologetic and even gave me an extra 10% off as a courtesy.
