They also did all the work for a company I'm very familiar with, without any issues, for years. Obviously this place is my first thought when an issue comes up with our cars! Today they were more than happy to fit my husband in real quick to take a look at my window, as it came off the track and we couldn't fix it ourselves. They checked all the parts, put the window back in place, and made suggestions to prevent it from reoccurring/burning the motor out. I was very pleasantly surprised (I've had terrible luck lately!) to hear that they didn't even charge him for their help. So hopefully I can pay it forward and bring more loyal customers to their shop. Hard to find caring and trustworthy service, so thanks a ton Venema's! We'll definitely continue to come back for all of our future vehicles woes and maintenence.

They are super friendly and oil changes go well. I decided to get work done too but there was a…read morelack of communication somewhere so I can't say I'm totally satisfied. I was concerned about an oil drip and wanted it checked out before getting exhaust work done. Exhaust work was done but the guy forgot to look into the drip. It turned out fine but I felt like the matter was brushed off when I asked what they thought of the drip (assuming they had looked into it). Despite my reservations, I read/here so much good about them so might give them another shot, depending on what I need done. I'm giving 3 stars because I'm not really sure what to think of them yet. One really cool thing about them is that they have full-service gas (almost unheard of nowadays but open when shop is).

I have used MD Auto a three times in the last two years. I do as much work on my vehicles as I can…read moreand have for 30 years, but some things are getting hard to do and I am starting to take bigger jobs to a mechanic for that work. I will no longer use MD AUto. The three incidents I have had: - Took my mother's vehicle in for work for a sensor replacement that would have meant removing drive shaft and many compnents under the hood. The work was delyaed longer than promised and I never received phone calls about the delays. Each time I would call to see if they could get me a status, they made me feel like I was a bother to them. (Mostly worked with Dale over the phone). In the end, my mother picked up her car, and called me 10 minutes after picking it up to tell me that she heard an aweful noise while driving. I told her to take it right back to MD Auto. Dale was there and he looked at even though they were closed. (That's a good thing!). He quickly diagnosed that the underbody cover was not secured tightly and it was likely flapping in the wind. He secured it, problem solved. Fast forward two months, and I go to do an oil change on my mother's car and I have to remove that under body cover. I found that Dale did not secure it with OEM screws, but used sheet metal scews and tapped them through the panel into a new hole in the unibody frame. (Not good!). There are now potential areas for Michgan's salty winter roads to start corroding those areas. Also, the engine cover was completely missing! (Also known as the Engine beautiy cover). I called Dale to ask about this and he said he "doesn't see one in the back", and after a very long and awkkward pause where he offered no solution I asked him what he was going to do about it. "I can order you a new one" is all he said, and didn't offer anything to compensate for it. I asked if he could meet me half way on the cost of it and he grumbled a bit and mumbled something I couldn't understand. I figured I'd have him order it and we can haggle later. Guess what? Three months later and still haven't heard from them. I called them a week ago to ask where it was and Dale said "they don't just fall out of the sky, you know". Great customer service, Dale. I have given up on them getting that engine cover. I easily found one online from the manufacturer and paid the $100 and had it in a week. I have also had brake work done on two vehicles at MD Auto and both times the rear parking break didn't work following the jobs. On one, they were able to tighten it down as the rear parking breaks have set points you have to get them to so when pushing the parking break pedal the cable pinches the pad to the rotor. The second vehicle they told me was "shot". (Again Dale told me this). And they wanted $1,400 of more work to fix it. Dale's attitude and customer service attitude stinks. Its not terrible, but he defintely seems like he's rather be anywhere than at MD Auto. I'm glad others are finding their service better than I had, but I wonder how many others actually get under their car or under their hood and know what they're looking at to determine if MD auto is actually doing god work or not. The one positive about MD Auto is their pricing is very fair.

These guys are great. Did the brakes on my 2010 Malibu at a very reasonable price. When I did it I had to actually take the bumper molding off. What the heck were you thinking GM!?!? I take all my cars here now.
