She returned to check on status five minute early...and overheard the tech blurt some profanities and express his frustration for her early inquiry. Not what I expected to hear from Midwest!! A bit overpriced in my opinion, but I usually don't mind paying a little premium to support the smaller shops. Haven't had a chance to inspect the work yet, hoping their quality is still good...since they obviously felt rushed.

They could've easily tried to sell me a brand new tire, but instead they found a used one - the same brand as my other 3 tires and with the same amount of tread for way less than a new one. Two mos later, a different tire of mine had a leak and they patched it up within five minutes of me stopping in without an appointment. Very accommodating!

Overall, the customer service here was not bad however, their quality of service has dropped while prices go up! Fall of 2023 while switching to snow tires, they informed me I would need 20! lug-nuts replaced (keep in mind, Amy and Chuck's is the only place I had been in 2 years working on my tires). I politely declined. Today, I went in to get my snow tires off and my old tires put back on. The price went up $20! I politely asked if they could put new bags on the tires when they put them back in my car because I store them myself. Once again, I was told I need 20 lug-nuts replaced, and declined. Upon leaving, I noticed the tires appeared to be just tossed in the back of my Jeep with the same ripped up bags. I also noticed there was black scuff marks on the inside roof of my car from the tires. So I spent 30 mins when I got home scrubbing this off. I heard good things and that's why I returned for 2 years to Amy and Chuck's but after today, I unfortunately will being taking my business elsewhere if they are going to continue to raise prices and quality of service is going down/careless.

We didn't realize we were truly jeopardizing quality for less money until we bought 2 gently used tires for $35 each! It came to $74 for both tires after taxes! I know it seems cheap which it is but when one tire totally is non usable after a little over 3 weeks, you do the math! It is actually more cost effective if we had gone to a "Real" auto repair place to get tires that can handle the road for more than a few weeks than getting these cheap ones every month or if we are lucky every couple months! We usually are okay with tires we get from them but we realize how they are now! They can't back up their products! I know they are used but it should last more than a month even or we should get another one of the same! We did pay something! And we found out just who they are when we needed help from them! I have a theory, anyone can be nice to my face when I am doing something for them, supporting them which we have done on and off for years but if when we needed help from them which we did, they left us hanging! We ended up stuck in the middle of nowhere when if we had limped it over to them and they helped us out, we would have been okay until for maybe another month or couple of months, who knows, and maybe they had just given us a defective tire! We needed help and when it came down to it, they only had heart when we were helping them out! So, like I said, please be smart and save your money! Go to a real auto repair place that believes in quality and cost effectiveness! Because, by going here, you might just get what you pay for! We did and it cost us more in the end! However, Meekhof has always been super friendly. I've had to vist them twice in the last couple of months due to an issue in my car and they fixed it pretty quickly. They provide a shuttle service within a certain area but I didn't use it. Their hours are pretty convenient (early mornings at least) and if you can't make it before close, they can give you a call and let you pay over the phone and leave your key in a secure area to pick up your car if needed. While no one ever wants to go to an auto repair shop unexpectedly, the guys at Meekhof took care of me and explained it to the best of my ability to understand. Prices were definitely fair - I got a couple quotes from local dealerships and they beat the price by a couple hundred dollars! Definitely plan on keeping these guys as my local repair shop.

The younger man at the counter threatened to keep my vehicle if I didn't sign it. That threat, Bauer, is not only asinine, it's legally called "an unlawful detention of property." A repair shop CANNOT hold a vehicle simply because someone refuses to sign a refusal-of-service or liability waiver. Good thing you relented. You'd have a lawsuit on your hands right now. By the way, I just got the two Pirelli tires you attempted to overcharge me on for $200 less than your outrageous quote, including all installation costs. You tried to take advantage of a woman new to GR and in need of the repair of a flat tire. But you messed with the wrong woman. Go elsewhere, people!
