OKC Streetcar: NW 10th Street Platform Stop Digital Info Board
    LaDonna G.

Review #41 The Grand Opening was Friday, 14 Dec 2018 at 10am with Mayor David Holt and a ribbon cutting ceremony at Leadership Square. Grand Opening weekend was 14-16 Dec, with platform events and celebrations. The Grand Opening will end on 5 Jan 2019. Location: OKC from Midtown to Bricktown Costs: The first three weeks the rides will be free until 5 Jan 2019. Beginning on 6 Jan the fares will be as follows: $1 a ride for one stop, $3 a day/24 hrs, $32 month pass, $384 annual pass. (Update: While I was riding the SC 4 Jan, I saw an update FREE RIDES are extended through 1 Feb!) How to Pay: Ticket Vending Machines (TVM) only accept coins or credit cards- no bills, and only for a single trip or a 24-hr day pass and were supposed to be at Platforms, but I haven't seen any. You can also download the Token Transit mobile app to pay for any pass, and this is the only way to pay for monthly or annual passes. Children 6 yrs old & under are free; while people aged 7-17 yrs & 65+ are half price. Hours: For the Downtown Loop or Route: M-Thurs: 6am-12am Fri: 6am-2am Sat: 7am-2am Sun: 11am-7pm (Sun hrs only thru 5 Jan 2019, unless statistics show cars are needed on Sunday, then OKC government will decide whether to continue Sun availability) How to get to Platform Stops: People can park in already existing parking lots or garages near the stops, and walk to them. If people live, work, or are already near them they can just walk. If people ride the CIRC Buses, the bus stops loop into many locations of the Streetcar stops. The CIRC Bus Loops operate M-Sat, 6am-1130pm. For the Bricktown Loop/Route: Fri-Sat: 7am-2am The cars should run every 15 minutes on the 6.9 mile system and each platform stop has digital information boards with upcoming arrivals. You can also download the EMBARK Connect mobile app to get updates in service. Platform Stops: There are 22 stops on the Downtown Loop, including Automobile Alley, Midtown, Arts District, & Business District; with 9 stops on the Bricktown Loop overlapping those on the Downtown Loop from East Bricktown to Myriad Gardens & City Center. 1. N Hudson 2. Dewey Ave 3. Midtown 4. NW 10th Street 5. Law School 6. Memorial Museum 7. Business District 8. Century Center 9. Bricktown 10. Mickey Mantle 11. E Bricktown 12. Ballpark 13. Santa Fe Hub 14. Arena 15. Scissortail Park 16. Myriad Gardens 17. Library 18. Transit Center 19. Federal Courthouse 20. Broadway Ave 21. Automobile Alley 22. Art Park Rules: While riding in the Streetcars, you need to push the request button to stop at a certain platform; otherwise the driver will not stop unless there are people waiting at the platforms. There's no eating in the cars, but closed food containers and covered beverages are allowed. Bike hooks are in the middle of the car to hang the front tire from. Electric Scooters are allowed on the cars but can't be left at the platforms. Service animals are allowed and small pets secured in a carrier are permitted. Streetcar doors are level to the curb so they are ADA compliant. There are also digital screens and audible reminders of upcoming stops inside the cars. Misc Info: There are 7 Streetcars of varying colors, green, red, blue, pink, ... and each car should fit a max of 104 people. The loops/routes are printed inside the cars near the ceilings. History: In 2009 Oklahoma City voters approved funding from an increase in city sales tax to garner funds for the $135 million project. In late 2017, it was fully funded and construction started. Side note: I created this business on Yelp and added the first pictures and tips. I've actually created close to 100 or more on Yelp, but I haven't tracked all the ones I've done; as I was too busy giving compliments, liking pictures, tips and check-ins, of my Yelp friends and others on Yelp! Fortunately, the main loop that operates daily does the Bricktown loop too, so you can still get around and see it all.

I recently started using a powered wheelchair and this was my first time doing out-of-state travel…read morein it, and my first time using the Amtrak in general. The Heartland Flyer was a cozy, 4-hour trip from Dallas to Oklahoma City that was problem free. The train does honk the horn a lot, so i'd recommend bringing headphones. I was able to get some sleep in though. I was worried if my powerchair would fit in the aisles and if I would have to transfer out of my chair, or if I would be required to be strapped down. I also worried about if the bathroom would be large enough to fit me. I can confirm that I was able to get through the aisles of the coach section fine, although there's not a ton of room to spare, and that my powerchair fit in the bathroom too; a tight fit, but it worked out okay. I was able to stay in my chair and was not forced to be strapped down. While I could fit in the coach car, the door to connect to the rest of the train and the cafe car was too narrow for my chair. There was a large space in front of the first row of seating for me to park my chair, with a convenient pull out table that made the ride feel nice. Staff were friendly and boarding was a breeze. Overall, i'm very pleased that the Amtrak is an accessible option for traveling the United States.

Ticket buying was easy if you are computer savvy…read more We won a round trip pair of tickets aboard the heartland flyer. (Part of a Christmas package) We arrived about 45 mins before departure and got situated after conductor directed us where we needed to go. Lower level reservation is what we had. The chairs were comfy. Bathrooms clean! A couple of them were spacious as well. The space in the lower level car and the plugins were pretty awesome says my daughters. Took a visit to the cafe car when it opened up. Smiles from the staff. Thank you for being awesome On the return trip A Hicks - Train conductor made the girls day/night as we boarded the train some people were seated in lower with upper level seats. We got the logistics ironed out and away we are back to Oklahoma City. The ride was smooth and swift! **Only suggestions I have for Amtrak is better family friendly schedule for return trip. Leaving at 520pm was tough to plan out from the hotel standpoint...but we managed. Girls got a picture with the train driver!!! Mr Darryl did a fantastic job. We are already looking to book another train trip somewhere! Respectfully, Bryan and family Yukon, Oklahoma
