My daughter stepped on a couple small pieces of glass and pebble stones that was stuck on the carpet in the room and ended up getting a small cut. We addressed it with the staff and let them know since it was very hard to find in the Berber carpet and we had to run our hands in it really good to find what it was. The vacuum cleaner may not have picked it up when they cleaned the room prior since it was stuck in there really good. The continental breakfast is always a nice touch. There was a selection of coffee and juices for the beverages. The food items consisted of a waffle bar, different types of pastries, and breakfast foods to choose from.

Quiet. Nice staff. Used the phone check in and they have a digital entry key so no need to stop at desk and a tap on phone opens the room door, no more little plastic cards. In its class of hotels and in central Florida 5 stars. Also the little restaurant The Next Corner Tapas and wine bar is excellent. On Owen Street just across the Sugarland a block down on left side. Everybody at the Jupiter waterfront Inn was very helpful and accommodating, and our delay created no bigger problems with our accommodations, as it did with our flights and rental car. Quaint small property with a Mom and pop feel that was very cozy and just what we hoped it would be. The rooms were pretty straightforward and basic but clean and kept well with no noticeable wear and tear, stains, etc. We really liked that it wasn't located too close to the center of things which made it much more relaxing and it had two beach side restaurants a one minute drive up the road! Big, thanks to Nick for being welcoming, helpful and really enhancing our whole experience. Really like this place and would definitely not hesitate to stay here again.

If you don't want third party bookings - don't offer it. The business owner is now making up that we were offered a contract in January and we refused to sign it and then used fake names to book rooms lol. Completely made up and another example of how this business owner can't take accountability of her actions. We received a lot of outside road noise and a nearby train which ran often and when the heater kicked on, it was like a motorcycle was in the room. We didn't stay for breakfast but it looked like a typical Hampton Inn breakfast.

The town of Clewiston is located on the southwest bank of Lake Okeechobee, the largest freshwater…read morelake in Florida. It was named for Tampa banker A.C. Clewis, who financed the extension of the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad through the area in 1922. In 1932 Clewiston was incorporated and laid out according to the plans of the Southern Sugar Corp who wanted a showcase city to serve as its headquarters. The town has the nickname "America's Sweetest Town" because of the U.S. Sugar Corporation headquarters here. The Clewiston Inn is the oldest hotel near Lake Okeechobee. The Inn was first built in 1926 by architects L. Phillips and Edgar S. Wortman in a two story Classical Revival style along the waterfront of Lake Okeechobee. The hotel was constructed by the Clewiston Company, the community and real estate development arm of Bror Dahlberg's Southern Sugar Company. Southern Sugar went into bankruptcy during the Great Depression and sold their assets to United States Sugar Corporation which was founded by three former General Motors executives. The hotel survived the 1926 Hurricane and the 1928 hurricane that killed over 4,000 people when Lake Okeechobee flooded causing many people to drown. The hotel was destroyed by a fire in 1937 but rebuilt in 1938 by U.S. Sugar Corp. with thick concrete walls braced with extra thick steel reinforcing rods the could withstand any future hurricanes. U.S. Sugar Corp used the inn to house company executives, customers. and visiting dignitaries. President Herbert Hoover stayed at the inn when he dedicated the Hoover Dike built around the lake, to provide flood control after the devastation of the Hurricane of 1928. One of the most stunning features of the hotel is the the Everglades Lounge and Bar which has a 360-degree wildlife mural covering all four walls of bar. The mural was made in 1945 by artist J. Clinton Shepherd who recreated the animals and plants of the Everglades. He stayed at the Inn for many months and made daily trips into the Everglades to sketch the flora and fauna. The historic mural alone makes this a 5 star visit. I love a good ghost story and the Clewiston Inn has it's share. There have been a number of paranormal investigations here and it's believed there are four spirits who never checked out. They include Anita Conklin who lived at the Clewiston Inn in room 225 and died in 1994. People have reported having their hair pulled outside the room. Other guests mention room 118 where there have been reports of a woman in the window. In 2007 the U.S. Sugar Corporation sold the Inn to Big Lake Hotels. In 2011 the Big Lake Hotels Corporation sold the Inn to Clewiston Hospitality LLC. It is an Americas Best Value Inn. On February 21, 1991, the hotel was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The five stars is for the historic value of the hotel as I have never stayed or eaten here. The manager caught me peeking in the window and even though the inn was closed he graciously allowed me inside to look around. I got a brief glimpse of the famed Everglades room and even though the light wasn't on I was suitably awed. Returning for a drink at the bar is now high on my list of post corona activities.

Also, we could tell that an experienced chef was in the kitchen because the food that we had was on another level! So flavorful! And typically when our group rents a conference room from certain large international hotel chains that are more well-known, we have to do the decorations. It was a relief not having to do that here, it allowed those in the planning crew of our group to have a more enjoyable experience. They did a great job with the decorations. Here is a copy of my BBB complaint: On Wednesday, Feb. 9th, 2022, a friend and I stayed as a hotel/inn guest at Port LaBelle Inn checking in at 10pm and leaving at 10am the following morning. Everything went smoothly until I checked my bank account on Monday, Feb. 14th and discovered an additional charge to my account of $165. I called Port LaBelle and asked about the charge. The woman on the phone told me it was a smoking fee for smoking in the room. I NEVER SMOKED IN MY ROOM. I was told when checking in that smoking was only permitted outside. Outside was the ONLY place I smoked a cigarette. When asked what evidence she had that I smoked in their room, I was told to "have a nice day." I asked to speak to the manager on duty and again was told "have a nice day." She repeatedly said I smoked in their room over and over without any substantiating evidence. I told her I will dispute the charge and file a complaint with the BBB. Here I am filing my complaint. The only thing I can think of is when I had a cigarette outside, as directed by their own staff, there were no ashtrays available. Instead of dropping my cigarette butt on their property, I used one of their disposable coffee cups as an ashtray. When finished, I flushed the contents down the toilet, rinsed out the cup so it didn't get on anything and threw the cup in the trash. If this is their SOLE reason to think I smoked in the room, they are wrong AND that means they rummaged through my trash. I was never told what evidence they had to charge me the $165 for a smoking fee and if they go back to their security cameras that date and time, they would CLEARLY see I ONLY smoked where I was directed to do so by their OWN staff. I feel that I am being wrongly charged and that this practice is a scam to charge guests and insanely high fee. I have disputed the charge with my bank and they are investigating. I would like my $165 refunded and an investigation started involving their recovery house. If they do this to a regular guest, what about them?
