I've had my violin and viola bows regained by him for a while now. Okkyum discusses hair choice, creates a nice even spread of the hair, and lets clients test run them on the spot. I've always been 100% satisfied. He's cut bridges for both my instruments as well as sound post fittings. Now my instruments sing like angles. Excellent workmanship, great prices, and speedy turn around time.

I forgot my case, so Mr. Kim came out to set up my car to protect my cello. So kind of him!

A lovely shop. We had a very small repair and he kindly and quickly repaired our violin while we waited without charging us a fortune.

Okkyum went above and beyond and even fixed my cello's sound post, even though he didn't have to.

Would not recommend John. His soldering is clean and his turnaround times are reasonable, but I…read moredon't believe he tests his work thoroughly enough. I drove an hour to John from my studio in LA to drop off a 1966 Princeton Reverb with some output issues, hissing, crackling, etc. A week later I received the invoice, paid, picked up the amp and took it home. The issue was not resolved. Took a video for proof. I drove the amp back to John and showed him the video, he apologized and said he would get it right this time, and wouldn't double down on labor costs. I thanked him for that, and dropped off the amp. Two weeks later I got a second invoice requesting additional payment. Confused and reluctant to pay a second fee, I still paid and picked up the amp. This time before driving back home to LA, I took the amp to the local guitar center to test it myself, and the issue STILL persisted after not even 10 minutes of play time. I took another video. Frustrated, I brought the amp back to John and showed him the video. He asked I leave the amp with him a third time. I explained that I do not feel confident in doing so, and I requested a refund on labor since I already paid two invoices for an issue that was never fixed. He was professional enough to agree, but I will not be returning to John or recommending him to any other musicians in my area.

He had it ready in two days. I'm the second owner of this amp and I doubt it has ever sounded this good. The noise floor is so low you can't hear it unless the volume is turned up to about 3/4 and even then it is very low. I highly recommend John for vintage amp repair and will use him for any future repairs I need.
