Thinking my CPU was done due to my own screw up, I figured I'd reach out to Jake as a last minute save. Not only did he manage to fix the CPU, he figured out the issue with my heatsink, ordered new thermal paste, applied it, and mounted everything with no issue. Literally saved me $400 or so. The man called me on Wednesday to give me an update, and he called me again on Thursday to let me know my laptop couldn't be fixed without a significant cost. It turned out to be an issue with the logic board which was out of my budget to fix as a student. During the phone call, the same guy explained the problem to me in incredible detail so I could make an informed choice about what to do next. I could tell his priority was finding a solution I was happy with because he kindly answered every question I had with a positive attitude and clear answers. I trusted his expertise a lot and I probably would have said yes to any service he recommended + I am appreciative he didn't treat my situation as a cash grab. I ended up buying a new laptop because it cost about $200 more than getting the logic board fixed. Per the man's recommendation, I purchased Apple Care, too. I highly recommend The MacMan!
