It's also the Oklahoma visitor information center site off highway 35. Its very convenient to pay for like pike passes. It's a pike pass full service center that's open 8am to 5pm daily except sundays. read more

Here are some tips 1. If you are going to fire the toll booth attendants and put in "Bill Changers" they should WORK! Who the heck carries this much change? 2. Post the toll in advance of the toll booth. 3. Post speed limit signs more frequently. Sure sounds like you are trying to generate ticket revenue Huh? This state stinks. read more

The turnpike is a limited access interstate. Most exits/entrances are 5 to 20 miles apart and in between those locations there is absolutely no way to exit the roadway. So guess what happens when there is a wreck or construction ahead and traffic is backed up? You got it, you never know it when you unknowingly jet right pass your last chance to exit and avoid sitting in traffic. You would think that you could opt into a messaging system that would alert you to traffic ahead. What with all the twittering and texting and emailing and blogging going on these days. So I call the road condition phone number - guess what? "No hazardous road conditions" - but I just sat through 30 minute backup... hmmm... Google their website - obviously designed when PDF's were the latest fad. I'm investigating how to startup an unofficial traffic system for the Turner turnpike between Tulsa and OKC, which is the most highly traveled turnpike. Any ideas? Chime in! Craig read more

day 26 of my trip so the think i noticed about oklahoma is. it has more churches than i have ever seen in my life. oh and a lot of church's chicken. dunno if its interrelated. the other thing is, it has a bazillion toll roads. what gives??? last night in my deliriousness, i drove pass one without paying. now the thing is, you actually have to exit the interstate to pay cash, and people with passes can just drive through. i didn't know that and thought there would be an attendant which there wasn't and boom. i didn't want to risk a ticket so susan h told me to go and pay for it. thanks for the tip. all the yelpers have been awesome with tips. radar, priceline, and paying my toll or my ticket would be 25 bucks. if i were to get a ticket. but i didn't want to press my luck. so i used the internet to find the location and i am really not trusting internet maps anymore and my ability to focus at all while driving. my mind keeps wandering or the directions are wrong, or something cuz i got lost for hours. and everyone gave me wrong directions when i pulled over. the enemy of any road trip is being lost. it wastes tons of good hours you could be doing something else. so luckily i got internet on my phone and got a general idea of the location, near a mall, asked someone where the mall was and finally i found it. while i was lost though i did find a beach in the middle of okc. how is that possible? http://www.flickr.com/photos/32849163@N00/2316718859/in/set-72157603897646950/ you find small wonders when you are lost. my trip started at a beach in santa barbara, now i found a beach in middle america, now one more beach to find... also 711's here sell gas. http://www.flickr.com/photos/32849163@N00/2317527862/in/set-72157603897646950/ weird. when i finally got here, my toll was a buck. all that for a lousy dollar??? oh well i got it done. i asked how i get back without getting on the toll road and a nice guy there gave me the heads up on a backway around it. whew thank goodness for hospitality. i got miles to go before i can go home it seems... every day seems like a rush. and i dunno why. maybe it is cuz i am the mtv generation or cuz you only have so many hours in a day and so much money. read more

I visited your location on memorial rd. In Oklahoma City. Terri helped me transfer my pike pass to a new car. She was very professional, friendly and patient. I work in customer service and would like to make sure her service appreciated. I would love to have an employee that does as a good a job as her. She made me feel like a valued customer and as I didn't know what I was doing she quickly walked me through it and got me on my way. Thank you Terri great job. read more

If there was a - star review. I would give it. Change only , the first toll took credit, rolled up to the 2nd change only... well mam we don't have any change only a card... Sign this piece of paper take this exit drive 7 miles go get change and come back... "wtf". We take the exit, pull over , dig under the seat go back to the toll booth .... THEN she doubles it , because we took the exit she told us. So I got of the car to dig out another 1.25 , so she won't charge me again, then she proceeds to let us know she is gonna call the cops . OMG That was horrible . The worst ever . Woman was rude y'all should shut that turn pike down and work on some infrastructure and catch up with the rest of the world......oh and by the way there are no gas stations in between ANyTHING. Give me a state representative and 15 minutes and I can solve this problem with more professionalism and dignity for this state than what it deserves.. Apparently because of poor signage, somehow I and my passenger/navigator missed I-44 turning off somewhere in or near Okla City. We found we were on I-35 when we made a stop. Consulting a map, 412 East would get us back on our planned route. I was surprised as I turned onto it that it was a turnpike. There was no indication on the map or signage before actually entering the road. At the first toll booth, I realized we had no cash, only our Illinois toll pass, credit and debit cards. (Somehow we managed to drive over 3,000 miles without needing cash.)The toll was $2.00. There was a guy, I told him no cash, and asked if we could pay later online as Illinois lets you do. He said, do you have a checkbook, and I said yes. But I realized my checkbook was in my luggage in the trunk. At the same time, apparently a shift change, a woman appeared and I told her about the checkbook being in the trunk and could I pull in to the parking spot ahead and get it. She said, no, I had to get off and bring back money. She threatened to call the State police. This conversation took about 5 minutes, with cars waiting behind. She gave me an envelope but I could not read it with my driving glasses. She had me sign something and was most unpleasant. I exited, parked, looked in the trunk and realized I'd have to empty it to get at the bag with the check book. Dug around in the ashtray and compartments and found part of a roll of quarters. Got back on, gave her 2.00 in quarters and she said it was 2.25. But why? I thought it was $2.00? Her exact words; You got off at the exit. I gave her the extra quarter and I told her to tell her boss the system was stupid. She said, "It's on camera". and then, real sarcastic, "Have a nice day." I pull up a few feet and the green light has not been lit indicating you can go. I stopped, waited, and finally called back to her, "Are we done here?" And then she finally changed the light. I think she wanted me to go through and trigger the state police. Of course I exited there and saw that Kansas was not far north, so I went up to Kansas before proceeding on my way East. Not wanting to spend one more dime in OK I calculated I had enough gas to get to Kansas before fueling up. Filled up the tank in Kansas, ate dinner in Kansas, slept in Missouri. And not only am I never entering OK again, I will do my best to warn others. read more
