Absolutely terrible customer service. Brought two vehicles for out of province inspections and the service department was completely disorganized and unprofessional. had to physically go in for both vehicles because our service rep and the service manager were nowhere to be found and not one person in the department could figure out what to do. if getting a simple inspection was a tough task to complete I would not recommend even a simple oil change from this place. my family has been in the Ford family for 15+ years and I would take my truck to a Tesla dealer for work before my shadow darkens the doors of this place again. read more

This is one of those reviews I've thought hard about never writing. . . but given enough time, it's one I feel I SHOULD write, despite the period of time that has passed. My last visit to Okotoks Ford WILL be my last visit--and full disclosure--that visit is now at least a year and a half to 2 years behind me. But I now justify writing this to make up for the number of eyes that could have--and should have--been reading the review, but weren't able to. I'm also struggling a bit with the number of "stars" to assign, given that my experiences early on were satisfactory, but one service incident killed off any chance of my repeat business. Forever. More on that later... I have purchased two trucks from this dealership. One used, and later, one new. Pretty much all my routine service, and even tire replacement, had taken place here. I wouldn't say I was hugely impressed with the dealership, compared to some of the slick operations in Calgary, but it was convenient enough. And I like to support the "small town, local" companies when I can. By not being hugely impressed, I mean the sales lot was gravel, not paved, with minimal new vehicles in stock. In fact, it seemed for a while they had shifted to selling or storing used RV's more than new vehicles.... It really had the appearance of "hurting business." That, I see, has since changed. The lot's now paved, and full of stock. But I digress. I'm not writing this from the perspective of a new car purchaser. My last visit was a routine service: oil change/tire rotation. I dropped it off, and as I was giving the attendant my keys, he brought up a special "tune up package" they were offering. The sales pitch included a number of tasks they performed on the vehicle... but it also included things that occurred during regular service intervals (like changing spark plugs), so this package seemed redundant. It also sold for a few hundred dollars. I passed outright - In short, I wouldn't waste my cash on something that seemed completely unnecessary, if I'm following the regular maintenance schedule outlined in the manual. I saw it as clear cash grab, and declined the "tune up." I thought "tune ups" died with carbuerators. "Just the regular service, thanks." Slash cut to later that afternoon, when the service department calls me. "There's a problem," they said..."We broke off spark plugs removing them, and there is going to be an extra labor charge for the plug removal process..." "...uh...why are you removing the spark plugs for an oil change," I responded. But I already knew the answer as the words left my mouth. "It's part of the tune up package." "I didn't order the package. Who would WANT that package?" Was essentially the response. Awkward silence on their end... I asked to talk to the service manager, who called me back later on. Here's where it all could have been fixed, but wasn't. I'll paraphrase how the discussion went: I reiterated that I had clearly declined their sales pitch, and they went ahead with it anyhow. The service manager said, "well, it's a situation where it's your word against our guy." Wrong answer. This was subtly suggesting this was a "clever ploy" on my part to get a nebulous "tuneup for free." If I was going to be that "clever," I'd at least try for something that I actually wanted. "We would never do work that we weren't supposed to. It's essentially illegal." (i.e. no way could it be our fault)... ..."We've put in a lot of labor, and parts, both on the tuneup, and extracting the broken plugs. You are still benefitting from all of this." Yadda yadda. Long story short, I was amazed that they were asking for several hundred dollars to cover for their own screw up(s). There was no "let's make this right, somehow." It was "how are you going to be able to pay for this..." And so... I've never been back. And you know what? So far they've lost several THOUSAND dollars in service work, new tires, and soon, new vehicle sales. And I ask... was it really worth it? Trying to get someone to cover for your own mistake? In all fairness, I do actually believe that it originated from a miscommunication on their side. The lot guy taking my keys, checking mileage and whatnot, could have been working there for 2 months and quit. What does he care? But nonetheless, the dealership didn't try to "fix it" for a long time repeat customer. Soooo... hence the loss of stars. Overall experience of buying a used car was excellent! Only wish was that there was more then a 1/4 tank of gas!!

I was wondering if anyone else was getting a runaroud on recalls. I have a recall on a 2006 mustang and have been told that the person who takes care of these issues is on holidays since july 15 , it is now sept 15 even politicians dont get that much time off. I have been calling every few weeks and the answer is always the same. Not once have i received a call back or any sort of explanation. Needless to say any good things i ever had to say about them have since gone away. Its a helluva way to run a business! read more

Just been down to this dealership as my engine light came on this morning and as I was in town thought I would drop off my truck for them to take a look at it, it is a 2013 F150 with just 4K on the clock, so still brand new . . . Turns out the air intake hose was off the manifold and they even provided me with a picture to prove it, however I am an engineer and when the light came on I pulled over and checked under the hood along with a friend, the intake hose is huge and if it was off as shown in their photo I would have noticed, it sits over the top and middle of the motor, it's the 1st thing you see when you pop the hood. Anyway long story short I was charged a total of $167 for the privilege of allowing Okotoks Ford to look at my truck and secure a hose that in my opinion was not off in the first place, a job at best would take 2 mins to do. The charges were justified by the service desk as being a diagnostic check, another 1 min job with a plug and a PC, and shop supplies . . . . ??? What supplies . . . This was explained as use of their computers, floor mats, seat covers (which were not in the vehicle). This has to be a warranty claim but as they held the keys I stood no chance, I now have to claim the charges under warranty from my dealer, a real pain as I was under the impression the warranty was North America wide. Not at all happy with the service I received from this dealership and as such will never return and will discourage anyone else from using there services. They are in the process of building a new shop and showroom and i really feel i have just contributed to it! read more
