This was my first and last time here. I bought the "Acupuncture - Relieve" package for $70. In the description, it said it included complimentary cupping and/or e-stim as needed. I would have asked for it if someone checked on me throughout the 40 minute process, but no one did - not even once. They placed a lamp over me for heat. It felt good initially, but not for 40 minutes. Also, this was the first time where needle insertion hurt. She had to have hit a nerve because I had shooting pain down my leg with one of them. My job is pretty intense sometimes so I've been looking for a place that does cupping. I stumbled across Olanani AcuOasis and they did not disappoint. The place had a parking lot in the back which is very convenient and easy to spot. The inside looked VERY clean and smelt of incense. Tai took me right away and didn't wait to get started. I was skeptical at first, but i was very excited. Tai was my cupping therapist. She was very soft spoken and sweet and made sure my first experience with cupping was perfect. She explained what she was doing before she was about to do it. I absolutely loved her. I was super relaxed during the whole thing and it felt like I had a massage even though I didn't. I finally fixed a 20 year old shoulder injury with surgery 4 years ago. It felt great for about a month before I 'wrecked it' again. It has been 'mad' at me ever since. I've tried rest, ice, Motrin, weekly massage, acupuncture with heat, cupping and dry needling. Some of them work pretty well. I regularly drive from Kahala to Kailua as a busy student just to see Tai. She is truly gifted at what she does. From musculoskeletal pain in my shoulders, chronic carpal tunnel and nerve pain in my wrists, migraines, GI problems to anxiety, Tai has been able to help me feel better. I went to AcuOasis for acupuncture and cupping to help with chronic pain in my back from years of playing sports and a badly fractured wrist that has required 2 surgeries. Upon entering, I was greeted by Alicia, who was so sweet to me, answered all my questions and concerns and really made me feel calm about my first experience with Chinese medicine. I could hardly lay still when Alicia was touching my back trying to find where exactly the pain was and where she was going to put the needles and cups. When the session was over, she massaged my back with hardly any discomfort at all! The nerve pain in my hand and wrist has greatly reduced, as well. Today was my second session, this time with Tai and she was equally as accommodating and made some changes I wanted.
