I have seen Michelle the owner/chiropracter, Elizabeth the acupuncturist and recently this month Heather the massage therapist. All 3 were excellent. I stopped Chiro as that particular style didn't work for my head injury but the back Chiro part was fine. Elizabeth I saw for several V.A. extended visits, maybe 20-25 visits. I found her highly sensitive, intuitive, and an excellent acupuncturist. Looks can be deceiving--she seems so quiet and shy but she gave me very good acupuncture and I had several breakthroughs under her care not found at any other acupuncture appointments the V.A. sent me to over the past 12 years. Heather was awesome. My Bff was a massage therapist and went w/my brother so I never got a massage;) This was my FIRST massage in my life. She was excellent and although I was a bit sore the next day, my neck and traps were so much more relaxed--worth it. This is a good group and I'm happy the V.A. referred me there! Me (being my impatient self) wanted to explore other possibilities. I'm still young and relatively healthy, so I was looking for a naturopathic option. She did an extensive consultation and walked me through the plan before we started acupuncture. She asked about things like my diet, lifestyle, and gave me great advice on what I should/shouldn't do. The next appointment was scheduled for acupuncture. I'm not sure if it was the timing or the stars just aligned. I immediately got pregnant after the first session! A pregnancy test confirmed it a month later on Father's Day. I saw her religiously during the first trimester and sparingly throughout my pregnancy. Idk how long these prices are going on for but she is fantastic!! We started face down. (Undergarment kept on). She started with the acupuncture. Followed by massage. The massage was very intuitive. My body is so stiff and knotted from not stretching ever and playing rugby and other contact sports. Kathy tested each segment of tissue with pressure to see if it was too stiff to continue or needed to push deeper. When my body would tense up, she eased up and manipulated other regions which indirectly released the initial segment. This is all without a word from me or her. (This was my first time getting acupuncture so I cannot compare) Time to flip and repeat on the ventral side. She finished with some neck face massage. I had a tough time turning my head left. And she fixed that without me even telling her. The only thing I said when I came in was... General tension and stiffness. No pain. I played basketball for the first time in years and I was all over the court! Bending over, touching the floor, all kinds of stuff I couldn't do before. This is NOT a spa. It is a small cozy and clean office. A/C keeps you and her cool. She had relaxing tunes playing and you don't even hear anything from outside of the building. She has been doing this for years! Update review: I saw Phi Lan for a few months to treat my migraines. I was having them 1-2 times…read moreper week, and could be debilitating, depending on how severe they were. After the course of treatment, I now only get them maybe once a month or two! A HUGE improvement if you ask me. One particular treatment where I had an active migraine, I could literally feel the pain leave my head as she moved the needles down to transition their flow (prickly sensation) to my feet- it was WILD. Not only did she help reduce my head pain and frequency significantly, but she always presented a very warm and welcoming environment. I'm not entirely a fan of needles, but she eased me into it, and ensured I was comfortable thru out the process (the heated bed helps). She always asked how each needle felt, if it needed more or less pressure, and offered to check in on me halfway thru the treatment. She also did some cupping, which was new to me, and help ease the tension coming down my neck and shoulders. Front desk staff are nice too, they remember you after a few treatments.
