She was - and continues to be - nothing short of amazing. Empathic, kind, clearly well-educated, with a courteous and committed staff - every appointment there is something I have great experiences with. In fact, after my first appointment with Dr. Wittek, I literally sat in the parking lot in my car and called 4 or 5 of my close girlfriends and told them they instantly needed to change OB/GYNs and go see Dr. Wittek. Every one of them did, and every one of them has had an experience similar to mine - they LOVE her. Dr. Wittek, like me, is a mom and has young children. She knows the challenges motherhood presents and understands well the concerns that all of us have. I have found her to be nothing short of magnificent and can't recommend her highly enough. She is an incredible physician, and a great caregiver, and a delightful person - in every sense.

After waiting a significant time on hold when she answered she was immediately rude and condescending. I had questions about what type of appointment my needs would be and she scoffed at my lack of understanding. She then told me I would need to find my birth control records from over 10 years ago to even schedule an appointment. I asked why and she told me her providers are so booked in advance I should just try somewhere else and hung up. I'm sure the providers here are lovely but you seriously need a new receptionist. She's the first person people speak to so she's the face of your company and it's not a nice face.

Excuse me??? Then, the receptionist said it will likely still be February before she could be seen. No sense of urgency. No empathy. No let me take a message and have a nurse call you back to see if she needs to be seen/worked in.

Thinking back, I kept telling Jeane and she dismissed over and over the way I felt every time I came in and did not take my word seriously. I ended up, at 20 weeks going in to find the gender of our baby, only to actually find out he had NO Heartbeat. To make matters worse, after my choice of giving birth to him, she wrote him down as 17 weeks so he was not considered a real child, no death certificate or stillborn certificate and basically acted like it was a bother to go back and change records after I suggested so. I ended up going elsewhere to have a third child after two other miscarriages and it was the best decision. Please advocate for yourself and get second opinions if you feel like you are not being listened to.

Anywhere else, you feel as though you are just a number on a checklist of things to do. Trish from the Shawnee location always shows much love every single time I have an appointment. I could chat with her all day as I feel as though I have known her forever. I can see that she legitimately has a heart for her job and cares about the patients that come in and out. I started seeing Crystal Murphy with my last pregnancy. She always made me laugh, spent adequate time with me to make sure everything was covered and I was comfortable. I also could never thank her enough for the loving hug and kindness she extended the day I found out via ultrasound that I miscarried. Fast forward to a year later, and another pregnancy, I was so excited to be seeing her again, unfortunately my schedule with work did not allow for that to happen. I had to see a new midwife. I was so nervous, for I loved seeing Crystal! In walks Lindsey Hill. Her greeting and interest in my family melted me right away. She spent a good 45 minutes getting to know me, and opening up herself to let me get to know her. She is straight to the point, no beating around any bushes, to the point where your laughing so hard you might pee yourself! She cracks me up talking about wanting to be a Barista, which is funny to me since I am one. I could see her now. Might have to have her come in one day! I get so excited for my appointments with her, because I can't wait to see how she is doing. Today I met Amy Mendus for the first time. This lady is as cute as a button. She also spent a great amount of time trying to get to know me, and hear any concerns I have with the stubborn little guy in my tummy. She was very informative and comforting! I can't wait to get to know her more! I've had amazing encounters with the nurses as well! They are super friendly and can actually draw your blood where it doesn't feel like your arm is going to snap in half! I seriously love all these ladies!! Y'all suck. This…read morepractice makes a huge deal of ensuring you are fully aware that if you do not cancel within 24 hours, you will be charged, no if's ands or buts. They tell you on the phone when you schedule and also have you sign a legally binding contract to let you know they will nickel and dime you for every darn thing you unfortunately had scheduled for your nether-regions in the first place. But these people can call you 15 minutes before your appointment, you know, the one you're literally almost at, the one you found someone to watch your kids for to only have them call and say that the OB is tied up in a birth. I'm sorry, was the practice unaware an hour prior when I was sent check in paperwork, or how about 30 mins prior when the doctor was obviously still not there and ready!?! 15 friggen minutes. Be better if you expect your patients to do the same. My time is just as valuable as yours.

Anyway, I was introduced to Dr. Holly in high school. I had always gone to College Park Family Care Centers for doctors, but didn't like my previous General Care Provider. When The College Park branch that Dr. Holly is currently in opened up, my mother set up an appointment for me. it was very nice because the new location was a lot closer to home and school, so it made going to the doctor a lot more convenient. I've always felt very comfortable with Dr. Holly. I can talk to her about anything (as you should be able to with your doctor). She's always very kind and understanding and seems to sincerely want to help in all situations. She's even told me to bring in business cards for my photography company in order for her to give them out to clients who need the services. She's also the only gyno that I've ever had. Growing up I always heard scary stories about well woman's exams being hated, but Dr. Holly is good about distracting you with easy conversation and the whole thing really isn't that bad. She's always great about walking you through all of your options with any problem. She also has a little girl so you always get to look at adorable photos while waiting for her! I desperately hope to move back one day and get my favorite doctor back...I'm not a fan of my current one!

However, I can't say that I have confidence in her ability to treat patients in the most effective way. The office staff at College Park is difficult to work with, too. Over the years, I have been referred out to an OBGyn, Endocrinologist, Cardiologist, Pulmonologist, Dermatologist, and I'm sure other "ologists" I'm forgetting. Most of the time these specialists are more expensive to see and they often tell me I don't need a specialist that it could have been handled by my family physician. Today, I have a form that is needed for my employer. It has been less than a year since the form was signed last year. The office staff refused to ask if the form could be signed by Dr. Holly without being seen. It is the last straw. Everything with this doctor is more difficult than it needs to be and I can't say that my health is benefitting from the extra steps and money it takes to see her.

The referral location repeatedly said they never received the referral, and I had to call four separate times to get it resent. After nine months of trying, I finally got the HSG done elsewhere. Since then, I have been rescheduled five times for a PCT test. Every cancellation has been the day of or the day before, despite the test requiring strict timing and time off work. I even arranged with my employer to adjust my schedule for a last-minute change, and that appointment was also canceled. This level of disorganization is unacceptable, especially for patients dealing with time-sensitive fertility testing. It is clear this practice cannot reliably manage appointments or support patients through an already stressful process. I will be seeking care elsewhere and would caution others to be aware of these repeated issues.
