If anyone's looking for a…read morenice, clean and quiet campground right off the main road of highway 395...I highly recommend coming here! I found Dragoon Creek through my trusty little camping app called CAMPENDIUM. I also absolutely recommend for those hikers, campers and adventurers who enjoy getting outdoors and pitching their tents while exploring the beautiful parks in the Pacific Northwest....then Campendium is simply the best app on your phone to find campgrounds. Dragoon Creek is located 18 miles north of downtown Spokane, Washington. This was the perfect stopping place for me as I was ultimately heading 250 miles northwest towards North Cascades National Park to explore over there for a few days. I had read on Campendium that it was free to camp at Dragoon Creek for the night as long as you had a Washington Discover Pass. I had no clue what a Washington Discover Pass was and I didn't even know how to find one. When I finally arrived here the Camp Host greeted me by the front gate. He told me I could pick up this Discover Pass at the local Chevron gas station about 5 miles down the road in the town of Deer Park. This was not a problem for me. When I arrived at Chevron, they had plenty of passes. It was $12 to buy a pass for the night. Though they mentioned that for an entire years worth....it was only $30 and this Washington Discover Pass was accepted at plenty of campgrounds located all over Washington state. The pass was especially handy when I visited Olympic National Park with a variety campgrounds to tent around there. So, I happily paid the $30 and while I was at Chevron I picked up a few snacks for the evening. Returning to Dragoon Creek...there were 23 campsites to choose from. The Camp Host told me to pick an unoccupied spot and I was good to go! I think for me...best of all...the campground was set right within the forest with lots of space between campsites. There were picnic tables and fire pits for barbecuing. Summing it all up...Dragoon Creek exuded the absolute PERFECT AMBIANCE AND SETTING for taking it easy and relaxing in the woods. I couldn't have picked a better place. Thank you Campendium, lol! I set up my tent on a relatively healthy patch of grass (not on hard dirt) that was more than suitable and comfortable for sleeping at night. The surroundings were so quaint and pleasant for camping...I gladly snapped some pictures to remember this place. In all, I was just very shocked that I visited here on a random Tuesday over the summertime in the month of August and Dragoon Creek was empty! More than half the campsites were not even filled. I'm surprised by this because I felt the conditions here were ideal. The Camp Host did mention that over weekends, they get much busier. One big point also, I had cell phone reception...which I much appreciated. And...there was a sign saying the gates to Dragoon Creek closed from 9pm - 7am...so you certainly don't get any late night stragglers that are loud and noisy while you're already settled and trying to enjoy the evening. There were porter potties for bathroom use...but they were some of the most well maintained I have seen over my travels. I can't say enough good things about Dragoon Creek. They even had a little walkway path to a stream that I found quite refreshing. If you're in this Spokane area...come to Dragoon Creek Campground. What a hidden gem and I happily give 5 stars.

When we arrived, not only was Steve there to show us to our spot, but several others currently staying. For our rig size, it was a close call and tight fit getting in, but once in our spot it was perfect. They got us in site 11 no problem. Is it an impersonal overly polished concrete and blacktop parking lot style RV Park with perfect level geometry/symmetry everywhere you look? No, but it was one of the best and most relaxing locations we've been so far. It's in the middle of a game preserve, so there are numerous deer routinely wandering around the area. Ahhh nature! As far as quiet goes, evenings were like a cemetery (in a good way). Just lots of peace and quiet to enjoy your surroundings. And the sunsets on the dock & beach! They are about as idyllic as you can get for lakefront property. We spent time swimming, kayaking, and just siting our on the dock enjoying the sunshine. I can speak for the internet/WiFi as we had great T-Mobile reception and so were only on our own hotspots the entire time. 60Mbit down / 8.9Mbit up. Perfectly suited to my purposes.

By taking away our right to choose our site there is no way you get a favorite site, or a site next to friends. At a time when Thousand Trails has to deeply discount, 20% off memberships to sell them you would think they would be more member oriented. We want our right to choose returned. I even asked if we could determine our campsite for our trip in mid June so we could camp next to friends camping at the same time and was told that was not possible. I am seriously thinking about getting rid of my membership.

This year they have decided they need to pick your site for you instead of you choosing your own. Which if you are camping with friends, you probably are not getting spots near each other. Both times we stayed this year, we get to the assigned site and they are definitely not acceptable for our size rig with slides. The first site for the first outing, my husband tried to make it work, but it was way too short and narrow. No fire or use of a picnic table were happening. Slide would have been over the fire pit and no way to even sit at the picnic table. The second outing, they had us in a spot with a huge boulder on one side and our door was facing a well traveled dusty road and very limited space from the door to the road. The staff at the office worked with us to find different spots both times. If they had not have worked with us, we would have left. Sad after we had been looking forward to the trips. Luckily it was a slower time of the year. Imagine if it had been 4th of July or some other busy weekend. And the fact we spent retirement money on this membership!! The campground itself needs some work to it. The KOA side has nicer fire ring, some patio sites and the electrical outlets appear to be updated and newer. The sites appear to get better care than thousand trail side. water and electrical services at thousand trails are very old and you share your services between 2 sites throughout the campground. And sites are not level. Tree trimming and or removal Definitely should be considered. We are really questioning our decision in purchasing our membership. Also doubtful that anyone from thousand trails will even respond to this review

We waited too late to book the KOA so we went searching for a new campground as we wanted to bring our trailer so we could fill the fridge with Trader Joe's products. After doing some research, we discovered this RV park, which looked newer as we didn't remember seeing it before. The reviews were mixed, so I was a little concerned, but it was only two nights. We booked a specific site and on upon arrival around 7 PM Friday we quickly checked in and directed to our site. My first impression was "wow this place is pristine and clean". The grass was perfectly manicured green. The sites were concrete pads that were very clean level and well spaced out. I used the bathroom just to check it out, and it was also spotless. The location was ideal for shopping and to head downtown to Nordstrom's and dinner. You're also super close to a Trader Joe's, Safeway, Target, DSW, World Market and tons of restaurants like Olive Garden, Red Robin and other chains and local places. My only complaint was that the entire RV park is lit-up like a parking lot all night. I can see how this is great for security, but if you want to sleep with the windows open, that might be bothersome for you. Our AC was being fickle, so we did need the windows open and it was quite bright, but it won't be enough to deter me from using this place in the future. I definitely recommend this location for an in-town RV stay.

Water, sewer and 30/50 amp hook ups are available at most but not all sites. There is a little beach by the river and a rope swing coming off a nearby bridge if you're looking to cool down. Albert's Landing also offers shuttle service for those wanting to float the river (I think they drop you off roughly three miles up river) or kayak, etc. Dogs must be on leash at all times and quiet hours were respected when we were there. There is a little store as well and overflow parking for any additional vehicles you bring. I was charged $5 a day for my extra car. Bathroom facilities are also available by the entrance. Everyone we came into contact with during our stay was pretty friendly - can't speak to the rude employees other reviewers have mentioned. It would have been nice had there been a little more offered - we've been to other spots that have games out, pools, play structures, designated pet areas, etc and I think Alberts would benefit from having a few additional amenities available. The ride to the river is very quick and on the way they provide plenty of pointers so you're sure to avoid any rough patches coming down the river. They handled loading and unloading our stuff for us, thank you! We will definitely be back and hope to stay overnight next time to take advantage of all they have to offer! Thanks for a great summer memory!!
