When we arrived, not only was Steve there to show us to our spot, but several others currently staying. In the park were helpful in spotting some close calls and helping get us positioned just right in our spot. For our rig size, it was a close call and tight fit getting in, but once in our spot it was perfect. They got us in site 11 no problem. Is it an impersonal overly polished concrete and blacktop parking lot style RV Park with perfect level geometry/symmetry everywhere you look? No, but it was one of the best and most relaxing locations we've been so far. It's in the middle of a game preserve, so there are numerous deer routinely wandering around the area. Ahhh nature! As far as quiet goes, evenings were like a cemetery (in a good way). Just lots of peace and quiet to enjoy your surroundings. And the sunsets on the dock & beach! They are about as idyllic as you can get for lakefront property. We spent time swimming, kayaking, and just siting our on the dock enjoying the sunshine. I can speak for the internet/WiFi as we had great T-Mobile reception and so were only on our own hotspots the entire time. 60Mbit down / 8.9Mbit up. Perfectly suited to my purposes.

We found this park when we were passing by. We turned around and spent three days here! Chris and Marcy have put their heart and soul into this place! They have the above and beyond hospitality as well as a plethora of information about the area and the fun adventures nearby. They have a gathering area with very comfortable seating and fire pit in the center. Great play area for children and a dog walk for your fur babies. The bathrooms and showers are cleaned daily and very accommodating to all. As you can see we have had our fill of other types of RV Parks that tend to be more concerned about the sale than the truth. This place is priceless! We rented a pull through spot with full hookups. There are adorable cabins to rent on this 12 acre pine covered area with a short stroll down to the river. Trails galore to ride and the quaint little town of Troy nearby.

There were no prices posted in person or on the website, and no where it stated it was members only. After I had been there about 2 hours (at 7pm) a woman on a golf cart sped into my camp site so fast she skidded on the gravel yelling if you're not a member you owe me $82 to stay here. No hello, welcome or anything. I said how was I supposed to know it was a members campsite as that was not posted anywhere (I double checked the office and front gate as I left making sure I didn't miss anything) and she yelled at me that people normally call first (which I did but they were closed). I packed up and found another fantastic public campsite close by for $30/night and was very happy there. The beach access at old American is also mediocre compared to over things in the area. Just don't want anyone else to set up camp just to have to leave! Some signage with members only and prices would be nice, both in person/at the gate and on the website.

The hanging flowers and flower beds around the office, club house, and laundry/restrooms are really nice. I really enjoy the river access, the deer and turkeys that stroll through, beautiful views of the river valley, and the quiet nights in the park. The recreation building has been renovated this year and is really nice. Maintenance is very responsive. I had a hose bib that was leaking. I let the office know and it was replaced that afternoon. Never any problem with electric or sewer. The grassy common areas are watered and cut regularly. The playground area was updated this Spring. Laundry is equipped with newer washers and dryers are very reasonably priced. Showers and restrooms are very clean. So, a lot of improvements and beautification has taken place. I really enjoyed coming here, and these improvements make it that much better. Management and maintenance are super friendly and eager to help.

Our site was close to trash bins to empty our trash and a one minute walk to the bathroom and camp kitchen area, if we needed to do some cooking. Our site has a nice little picnic table and fire ring. Lots of folks were using the fire pits, so there is no fire ban here. We are so close to the lake! Lots of trees here and our spot has enough shade to hide from the hot summer sun. Our site was #60 with an electrical hookup, thank goodness. It helped us not to drain our battery when using the a/c. Our site is in between a cabin site and a tent site. The site is small and fits our 24ft van perfectly. The big thing was that it is level! No adjusting. There is a store in the front and a swimming pool, which is popular when it's hot out. I did not need to do laundry, but they also offer that here. Patchy internet at our site, but we were able to use our starlink instead. Overall, we can't complain because this is glamping to us with all of our needs met. I recommend stopping here if you need a place to camp on your way to Yellowstone.

The spots are level, that's important in a small rig like ours. The place is super clean and the bathrooms are a dream! The folks in the campground are mostly just passing through and some are there for a couple days to enjoy all the outdoor activities. Those there for awhile are super friendly and helpful, we me several in our little world of chaos! The owner though, he's the real hero of this little haven! For "glamping", the Conestoga Wagons are fun, and there are actual Tipi spots coming that'll be right among the trees! Be sure to walk the nature trail through the woods when you're here. There is an excellent restaurant on premises, with finer dining options, along with affordable standards.
