I simply love old places with history so this was right up my alley! The Como Inn is a full featured experience. Fully stocked with wonderful food, in an old building with multiple super comfy rooms. Check in/check out times are flexible which I also found as a nice Southern touch! Just use your manners. :-) The owners are just good, kind southern folk. If I didn't have to be in the wedding, I would have been just fine sitting out on the back great patio and shooting the sh*t with them. One thing to note, there is a long, shotgun staircase up to the room level so be aware of that should you have elderly or other similar needs. I consider myself old in my 50s and it is indeed a haul, but waits for you at the top of the stairs is an awesome experience! As far as the nearbys... plenty of food options from pub grub to Thia and Mexican and a steak house that clearly must be something because there were a line of people a block long wanting to get in there! There's also a store a few blocks up with all your basic needs including alcohol. I honestly wish we would have had more than one night and a rushed schedule as I could see myself spending an entire weekend trip there just to chill and we plan to do just that. Water pressure was almost non-existent. It felt like I was showering with just a trickle of water. But, still grateful I had one to use after a long day of moving boxes and furniture. I would definitely stay here again. I just now know to expect mediocre rooms. The pictures on the website make the rooms look much bigger, brighter, and newer. The potatoes were a good consistency. I'm a cook and I would bet my front teeth that they jazzed up potatoes flakes from a box. The gravy was good. If it's not from scratch I would not be surprised. The burger had a generous amount of perfectly cooked bacon. He got a side of ranch for dipping and honestly, no flavor. We both said it was like just mayonnaise. By the time we left the place, it was packed. At the end she asked "are you ready for dessert?" And I said yes. I didn't remember seeing cake came with it but sounded good. It was 100% boxed cake with canned frosting. I ate maybe half and left the rest. It was in actuality, not included and we paid for a meh piece of cake I didn't even eat. We arrived at 11:05 and left at 12:20. Mike finally walked to the stand to see what was up because the server had taken our card 15 mins earlier and was walking around refilling drinks. The other lady (maybe owner?) was pleasant and rang him up. Was this lunch worth $40 pretax? Yes and no. It beat fast food but the overall taste was just ok. We love the feel of the place and the experience. Will we go again? No. Do we regret we went? Yes, because we lost an hour of travel time and were not wowed by the food. I wish I had better things to say because we love local places but this appears to be a cult classic for locals.

We chose one for a bridesmaid with a newborn to be able to stay with her family, and the other as a place for my florist/director to stay. The only thing that could be better would be for that last spot to have rooms instead of one large open area. The grounds have several options for your perfect wedding spot. We chose outside of the main building overlooking a lake. Chairs were included. The rehearsal dinner was inside the barn area, which was quickly cleaned up to begin decorating for the reception. The tables and tablecloths were included. The kitchen was a good size and ice was provided. Indoor bathrooms were clean. To top it all off, the owners were fantastic. They helped cart guests from their cars to the main area. They checked in often to make sure we were okay. They followed up to make sure we didn't have any questions. They allowed us time to clean up on Sunday around our church time. We could even stay the night Saturday night. I cannot say enough good things about this place. The Wild West themed town across the street was a little country for me, but it proved a fun setting for guests to relax and the "saloon". 10 out of 10! We even rented tuxes from their other businesses and received a discount. We were able to leave the suits at the site and not have the hassle of returning them the next week.
