At that point, she asked the driver about why the box was open. She looked and pointed out scratches on the items inside the box. She helped him carry it to her apartment door and then said "thanks, I've got it from here". He said "no" and followed her inside, friendly-like so she tried not to freak out. Once inside with no one else present, he told her not to write anything on the form. Instead to take it up with the company she purchased it from. Since he was 300 pounds (ish) and 6 feet tall, and she is 5'2", she did as she was told. Conway Freight's owner told me he didn't recognize the drivers name while another employee did recognize the name. They refused to note on the forms after the fact that the customer claimed damage. Car-ID refused to pay to ship the parts back and the manufacturer says if we ship them back and they are damaged, we get nothing. So a college student is out $500. I suppose it could have been worse. Who knows what might have happened to a young woman alone in her apartment with a very large man had she disagreed. (We tried to resolve this for 4 months before giving up. Don't try calling- Conwar - their phone mostly rings and rings.)

When he did this I was already passing him, i was in the farthest left lane from him. I had to hit the breaks so hard my tail end started shimming. I drive a 2001 firebird. He would have destroyed me. I followed him into the truck stop to see what his problem was, and all he could say through a half rolled down window was "i know i know...sorry" and then rolled his window back up. I called the state police while still in the parking lot and this guy never even got out of his truck, he drove off back onto the freeway. When I called Con-way to report the driver the only thing the dispatch had to say was "I'll talk to him". No apologies, nothing. Thanks Con-way Freight, or actually the new company that just bought you, for nothing. Maybe had your driver actually ran me over you would at least then have raised your eyebrow?

I had an unsatisfactory experience with Crates & Freighters Little Rock (C&F) due to the web of…read moreoverlapping entities involved in getting something shipped from Little Rock to New Jersey. There were essentially four parties involved in the shipment: (1) me; (2) Craters & Freighters; (3) GlobalTranz; and, (4) UPS. If there are no problems, you wouldn't know this - or you would only know that UPS was the actual carrier. My problems started when UPS failed to make timely delivery. Because I was not the shipper, C&F was, I contacted C&F to address the problem. C&F directed me to UPS to try and resolve the issue. Additionally C&F told me that UPS had doubled the weight on the shipment - from 300 lbs to 600 lbs. I assumed that the $900 dollars I paid for the shipment reflected the doubling of the weight. Assuming that to be an additional problem, Jerry at C&F directed me to GlobalTranz which is the intermediary through which C&F negotiates with UPS. For the next six (6) weeks I spent a considerable amount of my time trying to determine if I had overpaid for the shipment and if anyone was willing to refund a portion of the shipping costs. GlobalTranz pointed to C&F, C&F pointed to GlobalTranz and UPS - round and round and round. Finally, at the 6 week mark, C&F told me that I was charged based on a 300 lb weight not the 600 lb weight that UPS charged C&F. I have zero reason to believe this to be true. I have given up, but I strongly encourage you NOT to use C&F, because if anything at all goes wrong, you will NEVER get it resolved to your satisfaction. I will say this: the crating and packing that C&F did was excellent and the shipment of china, crystal, and art arrived with only one broken dinner plate. That's the only bright spot in this experience.

The movers broke an antique mirror and then disposed…read moreof it to hide it from me, actually punched holes in three original oil paintings due to poor packing, actually used a valuable poster as wrapping paper, stole an iPhone and several NHL cards and despite being told my OLED tv would be boxed for protection it was just wrapped in a blanket. On the positive side the owner was very helpful and patient setting up a payment scheme-- i do not blame the owner... but I had the worst, most distrustful movers. The owner needs to screen and train his movers to a higher standard.
