Unlike a few other companies I called Blair took time away from the job he was on to talk to me and explain garage door opener options and costs. After speaking to 4 other companies with one company never returning my phone call I decided to give Old Forge my business. Blair came out today and recommended several different solutions to my problem other than installing a new opener, again taking the time to actually speak with me. I was able to repair the inoperative opener and head off a soon to be problem with my second opener for less than the price of 1 new opener. His responses to my request and questions were swift, he was able to service my garage within 48 hours, and his service and pricing was on point. He knew right away what the problem was, he communicated that to me, and did not try and upsell me. Our door actually only had a minor issue that took only about 30 minutes to fix, but if the issue had not been addressed we could have easily had a major problem on our hands! I had a crack I'm my garage door for a while and I've received quotes from other places for about half a grand just for a repair, which was them very likely trying to upsell me. Our garage door needed attention, did not close flat. So I got a Lansdale garage door company to come out and they gave me a quote of between $5k and $6k to replace it and said they could not repair it! Old Forge just helped replace 4 extension springs, rollers, safety cables, and a door lock on 2 garage doors and he did wonderful job! The quality was spot-on, communication excellent, very fast, and Blair and his partner went above and beyond to ensure the job done properly. The technician did not try to "upsell" me on a new door or opener. I was actually expecting to buy a new door AND a new opener, because my opener was performing so poorly that it had damaged the door. But the tech said that I would only need a door repair and an opener adjustment. Now that the work is done, I see that he was right!
