I am new to the area and was looking for a reputable genuine barbershop and I stumbled onto Gold Standard Barbershop.The place is a genuine barbershop that gives you the full service that you would expect from a true barbershop that is reasonably priced. They have a very fine line of hair and beard products that are also reasonably priced. I was looking for a barber that knows how to trim a beard very well. I like to grow my beard out long and full. I have had people say they know how to trim beards; only to find out that they don't; or they give you what you think you want. Not here. I was asked what I want and what I wanted to do with my beard. I told him that I want it to grow long and full too where I can braid it. He was able to put my beard on that path without chopping the piss out of it. I also got a very nice buzz cut with a nice razor cut around the ears and neck. I am pleased with the quality of work that Jeremy did. He totally hooked me up. He is polite, professional and takes pride in his craft by giving the customer exactly what they want. It is good to know that I found a good neighborhood barbershop that is conveniently located in a nice area not far from where I live. Beard trim and a fade both times - when I walked out I think I heard OutKast singing "so fresh and so clean (clean)". It's got an industrial feel; it's clean, the crew is friendly and funny, and most of all, you will leave feeling confident about your fresh cut. In all seriousness, the vibe is on point. Gold Standard Barbershop and Jeremy, in particular, are as good as it gets for a haircut in the Denver metro area! I recently moved to Denver from NYC. In NYC, I liked the barbers at Astor Place Barbers in the East Village--they are experts who cut/shave with no-nonsense precision for the rich and famous, and for regular guys like me. With all due respect to Josef and Sal at Astor Place, Jeremy is better! He has a great eye, attention to detail, and listens to what you tell him to do. I could not recommend Gold Standard more highly, and it is really easy to get to from most points in Denver (plus you should check out Sloan Lake area if you haven't already; its got a pretty cool vibe). read more

I was very happy with my previous barber, but Gold Standard opened a few doors down from me and I figured I'd better at least give it a shot. The thought of walking to my haircuts was very appealing. My barber, Jeremy, couldn't have been more impressive. His attention to detail was like nothing I've experienced before. It's like my haircut was his last one on earth. Jeremy is everything I look for in a barber. I've been going to Jeremy since I moved to the area around a year ago - and heard about him because he opened up shop after leaving the old barbershop I went to. I've been looking and looking for a good barber to get a fresh cut at. I've been to a lot of the local shops, but after unreturned phone calls and getting stood up on appointments, I stopped going to them. I tried Gold Standard on a random Sunday a little over a month ago. Scott was the only one in the shop, but setting my appointment beforehand helped ensure a time. He didn't talk much, but kept his focus on my haircut. I've been to him twice now, and I'll never see another barber. Straight up the best haircut I have ever received! I have been getting my haircut twice a week for the past 4 years and have gotten the same style every time. But when I came out to Denver to visit my brother in July he took me out to Gold Standard to get a fresh cut for my birthday. I came in for my typical haircut. After talking a bit with Jeremy, he had me try something a little longer on top. Try something new. Went home and after a couple days it wasn't working for me so I called him back to see if I could get it trimmed up a bit. He said come on in and we'll get it sorted out. I came in, he cleaned it up, chopped off the extra hair, and made it look good again, not charging any extra. He wanted to make sure I got what I paid for and was willing to take the time to do so. I'm the guy who gets a haircut once every 6-8 months. Part of that is I like the shaggy look, but the bigger part is I hate going to the barber. The cut rarely comes out looking good and so I have never found a consistent, high quality barber. Jeremy was awesome, highly recommended. Best shop I've been to since moving to Denver. Jeremy has been cutting my hair for months and each cut us better than the last. His hair is very thick, straight and difficult to style and she has shown him how to properly handle his unruly hair like nobody's business.
