Hired this company to remodel our bathroom. Guy named Chad came over to take a look at our old bathroom. My wife and I discussed with him the type of bathrrom that we want. He took measutrements and a couple days later came up with a quote and contract that we had to sign. Company asked for a 1k deposit and work began. At this point we have yet to receive a copy of the signed contract so I contacted the company and spoke with Porter who furnished me a copy via email for expediency per my request (hard to go through the emailed contract, however, as opposed to a hard copy). To make the story short, construction of the new bathroom was done at their estimated completion date. To our surprise, however, there was no glass enclosure. When Chad came over for the walk through and to collect the balance payment, we asked why glass enclosure was omitted. He said that's how some bathrooms are constructed, but it's not what we wanted per our initial encounter. For one thing, the old one that was torn down had glass enclosure. He replied, "Well, we satisfied the contract". We ended up paying over 31k that we thought was inclusive of the glass enclosure, but ended up hiring another company to install it. I'm partially to blame for not examining the contract closely (lesson learned), but then I'm not familiar with construction lingo. Makes me wonder why contract was not delivered promptly. There seems a lack of transparency on their part. read more

Reputable company here in town that does awesome work! The owner is responsive and cares about the whole process of the work his organization is completing. As I've dealt with many contractors in the past, the age-old adage is still the truth, "you get what you pay for." Going for the lowest bidder did not work out in the past. My mama got her dream kitchen! Mom had the vision and Old Ironsides had the tools, experience and team to make it happen! Full remodel from top to bottom. New floor, new cabinets, new counter, new island, new layout, new appliances, same heart. Keeping the love in our family home of 37 years was very important. Keeping the old with the new was ideal and Old Ironsides made it happen by repurposing my dads hand made butcher block island gifted to my mom for one of their first anniversaries out of the 40 they were blessed with. They restored the wood and took two of the legs to add to the new, larger island. With lots of care they restored and added the pieces needed to make it work. They then took more of the piece and placed it near her stove as a butcher block counter. Our Family will be able to relive amazing memories as well as create new ones in this kitchen and for that we are forever thankful to Old Ironsides. They didn't just remodel a kitchen they restored the heart of the home! Old Ironsides Construction is a veteran owned small business in town. Their employees are prompt, clean and efficient. Pat is upfront about cost and estimate for the project. Their superintendent, Porter, is charismatic and makes sure to answer any questions about the project. For those that haven't been through a remodel, there's plenty of questions that arise throughout the process. Knowing you have access to everyone involved at each phase of the project is a breath of fresh air. The owner Lee'o is available to answer questions or address any issues that may arise, including weekends! Having the ability to communicate with the owner facilitates any concern. Did I mention change orders are an easy process with Old Ironsides! Daily pictures and progress are uploaded for the customer to see. Our needs were minimal, therefore not a big job, with a big price tag. We were repeatedly put off saying they could not get the materials needed. From the beginning we told them where they could get what we needed (Home Depot) as we had researched the materials needed. They work with Lowes and told us they could not find what was needed to complete our needs. When they did finally get supplies (probably from Home Depot) and came to do the work needed, it was subpar. It was simply replacing weather stripping on three doors. My handy husband could have done this job. If you're needing anything done short of a full room remodel, do yourself a favor and find a different contractor. read more

My dream kitchen is a reality thanks to Old Ironsides. 5 weeks- start to finish for complete remodel of kitchen (and pantry), and paint and flooring in half the house. Owner Pat was fabulous to work with for our estimate. He had great ideas, but his concern was making sure I got what I wanted. My quote arrived the same day. Owner Lee'o was very helpful and answered any questions I had-even on weekends. Painter Steve and his crew did a beautiful job. Cesar and his electricians even worked on Saturday to get things done quickly. Cabinets are just what I wanted, and carpenter Mike's attention to detail was amazing. All I know is they wanted $500 to come out , 1 hour away, for a quote. They knew my Insurance company requires me to get a couple of quotes - so if I don't use them I still have to pay the $500. That seems unfair, so it's a no. read more

From the start the company was very punctual. I was extremely impressed with Steve the painter. The precision in his brush strokes was amazing. I've watched a lot of professional painters in my life and he was by far the best I've seen. He was also very knowledgeable. The other painter David was extremely polite. He was also very skilled. They did an absolutely amazing job. The countertop installation was also very interesting to watch and the men who cut and installed our quartzite countertops were very quick and professional and did an amazing job. Dan, our tile guy, was also very quick and professional. He was very polite and made sure to check with me about decisions on how the tile was placed. I was very appreciative of that. Overall, I was very pleased with every crew that came to our house to work. To have an honest and fair review, I will also list the negatives. They are miniscule but still notable. Communication with management was lacking. I often had to ask when someone was coming. I had my kitchen completely demoed and no more work scheduled for 5 days. Seems like demo could've waited. I had to negotiate the price more than once which seemed inappropriate. Once should've been plenty. Twice I had men show up to work completely unannounced. When the work was completed, there was an absolute cut off of communication. No gratitude for my business of any sort. They sent a worker to ask for the final payment. Overall, the work is extremely quality work, so the company still gets 5/5 stars and I would recommend them. The positives far outweigh the negatives. read more

My wife and I were trying to put back up awning over one of our windows in the front of our house that blew off during the wind storm last week. We were struggling and doing our best. We just happened to hear do you need some help. Funny enough we just thought it was one of our neighbors offering and we said we were good. It turned out to be Leeo from Old Ironsides and he insisted on helping us. What are the odds that he and his fiancé were riding their bikes in our neighborhood when we just started to attempt to get this done. He helped without hesitation and got it back up for us quickly. He saved us a ton of time and frustration. This says a-lot about what Old Ironsides stands for! They do great work and they help people even when they are just riding by in the neighborhood. OIC is a 1st class operation. Patrick was great to work with and responsive to all questions. He met with us at two different tile/stone businesses and was very helpful with all the great ideas. The crew and all subs also were just outstanding craftsmen and did a 1st class installation. What started as a water leak turned into an all-out update with drywall, plumbing, electrical, flooring, countertops, and other miscellaneous work. Needless to say, we are just delighted. Oddest experience I've had. A friend recommended them to me. Almost immediately after the owner showed up to walk through what I needed done it felt combative. I still don't understand it but I felt like I had to defend myself. I almost asked him to leave after the very first item on my list. Decided to continue just to get an estimate for comparison. Never received the estimate. I was not comfortable having him in my house and glad he finally left. read more

I would 100% recommend working with Old Ironsides as a construction company. I reached out to their company and Lee'o went out and looked at our property and gave me a bid. When I chose their company to do the work, I walked the property with Lee'o and Pat. I then went and picked the tile/flooring/countertops/sink/other finishes with them. Throughout the process, I got daily photo updates and Lee'o would email or call me with anything that was out of the norm. We always had a good conversation about what was going on and Lee'o provided me solutions to the problems we encountered. We had Old Ironsides do new: electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, ducting, bathrooms, kitchen, flooring, doors, painting (interior & exterior). They also took care of the termite/asbestos remediation. Doing a project of this size was very daunting but I never doubted their ability and the communication and quality of work was fantastic. I would highly recommend using Old Ironsides for all of your construction needs. read more
