I am typically very wary of any concrete "contractors" as I've been burned and screwed over by others in the past. Working with Juan and JJ Concrete has been exactly the opposite of those past experiences. Juan came to my property right on the time he promised and took precise measurements and sent me the contract with the estimates (that were very fair) in less than 24 hours. Juan is hands down the most professional and proficient contractor I've ever worked with my entire life. I gave him the OK to start the project and the crew was there exactly on the date and time promised and began the work. It was the same every day of the job: On time, cleaned up and hard working daily. Juan gave me no pressure whatsoever to pay more up front money and every payment was exactly as spelled out in the contract. They left the job site very clean and tidy every day after working on it. We bought a brand new home in July of 2021 and based on our HOA we had to have plans submitted for a backyard and everything done for our backyard within 90 days of moving in. This of course was a tight deadline. We began reaching out to landscapers to get quotes and gain an understanding for what we really needed. Most landscapers wouldn't even call us back because we weren't getting a water feature, wouldn't do jobs under an outrageous amount of money, etc. J&J was responsive. They came out and gave us ideas for the space. We had just bought a new home so weren't looking to sink another chunk of money into our backyard as well. We wanted to appease our HOA while also giving us a nice backyard to enjoy. J&J worked with us on our budget and told us where we could cut costs. They finished everything in 3 weeks. This essentially two man father/son duo team transformed our dirt lot into a beautiful backyard. They extended our driveway, made a concrete path along the side of the house and around the back, added irrigation, put cement borders in, pads for a jacuzzi and shed, grass, installed irrigation, installed our gazebo, planted 2 olive trees, put a rock path in, and BUILT and installed our garden beds with irrigation to them. I had a hardscaping/landscaping job recently done by Juan and his team and it looks amazing! They completely transformed our old lawn into a front yard that looks beautiful and is easy to maintain. I first sent out a couple quotes through Yelp for my project and Juan was the first one to reply and was available the next day to get the free quote. After the quote, Juan was responsive and communicative with getting a contract and project drawing done (he sent me reference photos, photos of the types of rock, etc) They were able to start our hardscaping project on the projected date and completed it in a couple of days. I also would like to point out that they are very clean with their work and would put away the machine and then sweep the rocks/debris from the street and walkway (which my neighbors and I really appreciate). While getting bids for a block wall job I stumbled across J J and asked for a bid from them. They were great and came out the very next day to go over my existing structure and get me a quote. There was more work than I originally anticipated but they were great about showing me everything that they saw and explaining the situation to me. Even better they were honest about the material prices being more than double what they used to be which made the quote much higher than it normally would have been. I was advised to try to wait out the material cost if I didn't need this done right away and they could get me a much better quote if the prices come down for the blocks. I explained to Juan the situation we were in and he was very understanding and knew exactly what kind of situation we were in as well as giving us advice when dealing with any landscaper. Not only did he actually show up and do the things he said he was going to do, which is half the battle in construction, but he and his employees were also very tidy and professional.
