I had my mind made up to have white frames, and he suggested a softer, weathered white because of the subject matter. He was SO RIGHT. But wait, there's more...I was concerned about the glare in my room. He suggested I take it home, try it out and if I decide on a glass with refection control, he'd swap it out for just the difference in glass price. Shop the Gallery! On our way back from Indiana Dunes, we decided why not just check it out since it's on our way back to Chicago anyway. I was honestly surprised how many people were there when we came, but maybe it's because of the recent movie. It looks like people bring gifts and sign their names on the sidewalk and street. There's not much else to do besides look at it. It's surrounded by a fence, which is understandable. It's a neat stop if you're on the way to or from something, but probably not something to go out of the way for unless you're a huge fan. The street is on has a few abandoned houses and right behind his house is what looks to be an abandoned high school. People do live in the nearby houses so visitors should all try to be respectful and keep noise down!

Holly's studio is a treasure in the downtown Chesterton area. Weekends there include the farmer's…read moremarket seasonally. I first visited a few years ago while taking a long weekend. There a few nice B&B places there and it's accessible to the lakeshore attractions. It was by chance that I wandered down her street and I stayed, talking to her and looking at everything she had painted in the two room studio. She is an abstract artist. I was struck by one of her large acrylics, she told me the story behind its creation and I finally bought it, my first original acrylic! Her work has changed over the years, as do the style or subject matter of most good painters, but I enjoy her eye for color and shape. Check it out, if only just to experience her world and meet a very cool woman.

I've got no negatives to list; very clean space and if I was in that area of IN, I'd revisit for sure.
