My father and his father; everyone in my family has banked with First Merchants for years. I still have an active account with them and have never been charged for monthly statements or to send fax. I go in to get my statement and that stop me with a $10 fee. I don't use or have a debit card for this account and I used to receive my statement in the mail, but they stopped sending that without notice. There's no way I'm paying a $10 fee to see my own account statement. These new fees are unnecessary and no one was notified of these changes ahead of time. My family can't believe the fees either and we will all be changing banks. Banks like First Merchants are rapidly and deliberately pushing people away. Cashapp and Venmo could never do as much damage to these banks and branches as they are doing to themselves.
