Out of all the stores we visited this Black Friday, Oshkosh was by far the cleanest and well-organized of the lot. By the time we started our shopping, it was clear that the Cincinnati Premium Outlets had been hit hard by holiday shoppers. Oshkosh looked like it had just opened. Not only was it clean and well organized, but it was also well stocked. When not assisting customes, employees were welcoming those who were walking in.

See, to shore up funds for a pre-order, I tried to sell a few things for some pocket money (because we know how consignment stores work) and I didn't really get anywhere with it . Apparently, they won't buy dolls without clothes, which completely ignores that the kids will redress them anyways, while selling toys that are either missing pieces or beat to hell, matter-of-fact, one of the toys I've seen was practically broken, with one being a dollhouse that has a broken elevator being sold for $18. They passed one of the items that I attempted to sell but I wasn't given a reason why. All this isn't getting into how they lowball your items and the owner's response was especially unhelpful. If you have some baby items and toys that need a new home, I'd suggest donating them to charities. Need some extra funds? I suggest selling on Marketplace, Letgo, Depop, Poshmark, or eBay, NOT at Once Upon a Child. Fairly negative experience and I don't see myself selling here again.

About a year ago, they did a major reorganization of the store and it's now more open and organized than before. I will admit that you have to search for hidden gems as the items do have the potential to be damaged, but I love scoring those good deals, so it's worth it to me. The staff are always friendly and parking is a breeze since the store is in a plaza with a big lot. They have huge sales and a good texting program that alerts you of sales and sends coupons straight to your phone.

Our son is a freshman at Miami University and found out that he'll need a suit in two weeks for a job fair. We've used the store in Columbus many times with great results, so we thought this store would be our best option in the area. This was a completely different experience. The woman helping us didn't take any measurements, just asked what sizes our son normally wears. We eventually had to grab sizes we thought might work and he tried them on without any guidance on fit. The length he needed in a jacket wasn't available to try on so she told us what thought would fit best. She only agreed to measure him instead of eyeballing it when we insisted. There was an older lady working who seemed to be observing our interaction. I was hoping she might have more experience and jump in with some help. No such luck. I honestly wish we had driven the extra five hours back and forth to bring my son home to the Columbus area.
