(Pros) Very nostalgic place been coming here since I was young and even before this place is still open. Has a very classic vibe with a renewed look that's up to date and doesn't rely on a super old fashioned look but has that feel. (Pros) Food is excellent especially there cony sauce trust me theirs is way better then most and the root beer taste pretty consistent. (Pros) Are waitresses was super nice and very observant are ketchup cup fell on the floor and she picked it up and gave us a new one I know that's a small thing to say but trust me this review would've been different if she gave me the dirty one on the floor. (Cons) The only downside side is the size of the place on the inside seriously the smallest dine in Saginaw. We showed up 10 minutes before they opened and planned to wait. A very nice young lady came out to us to take our order! My first visit but my last. Burgers and fries were very good. The prices weren't expensive and felt we got a good value for our money.

Pull in, find a spot and the waitress comes to your window. The menu is posted on the sides of the building. If you need anything else, just honk your horn. You can walk in and order too. Their coney sauce is made out of bologna. Root beer is delicious! Food came out really fast....pretty decent too. We put pandora on comedy radio and ate so it was like dinner and a show. What a great little gem. Old school cooking and frosted mugs of root beer and all very reasonably priced. They have the menu printed on large signs on the side of the building. Pull into you parking spot, and the waitress will walk out. They take your order and in very short time they return with your tray which they will hang on your car window. Only item to be aware of are the birds. They have no fear. Might need to protect your food or bring it all in the car when it first arrives. :) read more

I've been going to Old Town Drive in for the past 20+ years. I love that they have the same waitress, and she loves her job... that says a lot about her employer! Old Town has the BEST root beer... I love taking the kids to Old Town Drive-In. It's family owned. I like that they have the same menu and they haven't changed with the times, that's what makes this restaurant so special. Old Skool drive-in serving up some great Root Beer and cheap eats. It is a slice of Americana that is quickly disappearing throughout the nation. You get friendly service and "fast" food served to you right in your car. The chili sauce was what we stopped here for on a day back in September. We picked up a quick sizzle steak sandwich as well for a snack. The chili sauce was a huge hit with the family for our hot dog dinner. Are you kidding me? This place deserves more than a 2 star average. I haven't had a better root beer than at Old Town Drive-In. The food is cheap, quick, delicious and terribly unhealthy for the most part so I do not get a chance to frequent as much as I wish I could. Get the root beer. Make sure it's a large root beer. You will bounce off the walls after. And if you are anything like me, you will probably want a float or root beer milkshake too. There's no shame in that. Also, if you are anything like me you will want a gallon of root beer to go...just in case your root beer craving strikes and you are miles from home. Again, no shame. When I need comfort food and a bit of nostalgia, I come here! Sadly it's usually a couple times a month but I still love it! I typically order the same thing every time which is a coney with mustard and onion sides will either be battered mushrooms or onion rings. When I do a to go order the sides tend to disappoint but I don't hold that against them since it's fried food and can only stay hot for so long. I will have to mention that the last few times going and most recently just last week it seems like they changed the hot dog which is the only reason I go. Maybe they downgraded the meat during off season to save money but something seems different. No matter, will go back and won't deduct stars unless that mystery continues! Until then, the staff has always been wonderful and maybe one day I may try a hamburger but I doubt it! Lol read more

I love this place. A little off the main drag, but worth the trip. You drive up and a few moments later someone comes out to your car to take your order. The coney dogs are "real" coney dogs, not chili dogs and the root beer comes in a big ol' glass mug. The onion rings are the best ever - real onion, not some reconstituted onion ring wannabe. If you must, the hamburgers are surprisingly good, but come here for the coney dogs. Just beware of the sea gulls patrolling the parking lot. read more

The food is usually great, and that's why I'm giving a 3. What you'd expect from a Coney Island type establishment. But this trip would get a 1 because the service was not great, and the food wasn't either, directly because of the service. Kristine was my waitress/server/whatever you call it name. She was short and rude. She came to the car before I even had my car in park which I thought wow. Great. This will be quick. I asked her for a few minutes so we could browse the menu. She came back 15 minutes later. Still no biggy. Kind of a long few minutes but that's fine. Maybe she forgot? Who knows at this point. She took our order and left. She went to the car next to us and talked. And laughed. And talked. And laughed. I wouldn't have been annoyed but my food came out barely hot and the fries were cold to the touch. And the root beer had so much sweat on the mug that it was evident it sat for awhile. I picked my onions off even though I asked for no onions. Maybe she thought I requested onions instead of stating no onions? I don't know. I ate my mediocre food because it's normally really good and honestly didn't want to cause a fuss. My most annoying part of this trip was that she assumed the tip. I was so annoyed. My bill was $13 and some change. I gave her a $20 and she asked if I needed change. Don't do that. Say "I'll be back with your change". Don't assume I'm going to give you a $6 tip. Honesty, I probably would have. But since she asked I didn't. She got 20%, which I never give just 20%. 20% is minimum wage to me. Some people leave no tip, or $1, for me it's 20%. To be honest she didn't even deserve that. She spent most of the time talking to the car next to me. I don't care if it's a friend or regular or your aunt. Don't ignore your other paying guests. Especially when there's only 2 cars you're responsible for. read more
