Service was excellent and so was the beer selection. The menu is limited. We had the cheese curds and they were excellent. I had a chicken wrap that was more than I could eat. My spouse had the steak sandwich and my son had a burger. We all took food home! The homemade chips were excellent with the dip, did I mention the red skin potato salad that was very good. This is a cool place. The staff is super friendly. The food is good and the wings are particularly good. You wouldn't really know it's there unless you were looking for it when you were driving back cause it's in like an old union hall or something. And even when you walk in, it takes a second to figure out that you need to go downstairs. All at all I like this place. read more

This is the best tap room in Bay City. Their taps are always super clean. Never have encountered an off flavor in their beers. (Knock on wood!) Their beer selection is diverse and their food is excellent!! Staff is great!! The historic knotty pine throughout gives it a fun atmosphere. The fact that it's downstairs with no windows adds to the character of the place and makes me smile. It is truly unique. My fave place in Bay City for casual dining by far. I enjoyed an excellent Guinness Cheese Steak Sandwich along with a flight full of an assortment of Guinness beers. My favorite sampler was the Guinness Stock Ale aged in Bulleit Bourbon Barrels. Service was excellent. They have low/high, booth and bar seating. Lodge type vibe with beer slogan and mirror decorated walls. The food is a bit on the pricey side but I have not yet had a bad meal here. I will return. read more

Great little Craft Beer and Burger joint. Excellent and extensive list of craft beer. Outstanding huge burgers with house made chips. We also had an awesome BLT with 1/2 lb. of bacon. The only drawback was that it is located in a lower level (below grade), which allows for no sunlight. read more

Nestled in a little hidden spot inside a hall downstairs is this perfect spot for some amazing craft beers on tap and also can't forget the cheese curds which are amazing! I didn't get to try anything else on the menu but next time I'll save some room for this place. The place is very classy and has a really nice comfortable vibe where you can come on a nice date. I tried a couple of the nitro stouts they had and they went down very smooth. Had a really nice time the bartender is very cool and knows a lot about all the beers they carry he even helped my girlfriend with deciding which beers she likes based on her liking fruity beers. Most definitely yes. This place has the straight up ultra selection of craft everything, from traditional to totally weird. I saw someone slammed them for having pbr, which is super conceited, as many people and hipsters are all over that. It's a bar, so they have delicious unhealthy bar food. I like beer. For 50+ years. Drafts being my specialty. First I ordered a Dark Horse Trip Ale. It was very good. My second choice was a Sam Adams Longshot Barnstorm. It was a prize winner for Sam Adams, but not for me. When I told the waitress it was not right, that it was sour, she quickly said it was a sour beer. She was right. But if Sam Adams had tasted it, he would have dumped it. I have had sour drafts several times. It is sour, from my experience, for two reasons: the glass, when washed, did not get rinsed well and some of the disinfectant in the wash water remained or it was because the pipes/tubes from the key to the tap needed cleaning. When it's bad you can't tell a Bud from the best craft beer. Not sure whether to be disappointed with the management or the waitress. The food was OK. Waffle fries and chips were good. read more

This used to be one of my favorite hangouts in town. The beer selection is always great and the food pretty good, so we suffered through what could be described as lackluster service. No longer is this the case. 3 friends and I went in for the Dark Night Darker Beer event on 12/21/17, looking forward to some great beers. However, we did not get to try any. We knew it would be crazy busy, so we braced for slow service. After we stood at the bar for a bit, we caught a break on a table in the back room. After sitting down, we waited for 35 minutes without being addressed once by our server, Hallie. I know her name because we are in there fairly regularly (3-4 times a month). Not a "hello" or a "I'll be right with you" or anything, as if we were invisible. The two tables next to us that were seated right after us were served; one table had even finished their drinks in that same time. After 45 minutes of ZERO service, full of disappointment, we decided to leave and go somewhere else. What's more, I messaged the official page through FB Messenger and explained our experience, and all I received was a "sorry we couldn't get to you, hope to see you soon." I really wanted to love it here. I'm struggling between 3 and 4 stars because the selection of beer is extensive and obscure, with many on nitro! However some of the beers on nitro didn't seem to make sense. Why waste the appeal if the nitrogen tap on a cheap domestic like PBR? The decor is traditional dive bar mixed with cabin wood accents. My first time in, I'm not sure if the furnace was bad or if it's just drafty, but I was pretty cold and needed to wear my coat. The menu is fairly large as well with many burgers and appetizers. Unfortunately since I'm a vegetarian I had very few options as far as real sustenance was concerned. I'll be back to see how this places develops and hopefully can upgrade my review! read more
