The fog, lights, effects and the sound system. The lit up floor. I don't think some of the Yelpers were ready for what was gonna happen. We all danced and some folks finally got lose. Some were scared and others people watched. Everyone had a good time. Yelp had the whole section all night and our own bouncer. Pimp status! This year the city hosted a festival with live music and food vendors, but this review will only focus on the fireworks show. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Fireworks, Return) Atmosphere - There are few places as pretty as Lake Carolyn when the sun sets. The lake is very big, and the city allows visitors to sit in any of the public places. We ended up sitting in the lawn area in south corner. While not we weren't as close to the fireworks as other parts around the lake, we had an amazing view of the buildings in the back. 1 Star. Service - The City of Irving had buses shuttling people from the fireworks show to the parking garages at the Toyota Music Factory. The lines were long, so we paid $10 to park in one of the nearby garages. You pay for convenience, but it's hard to get out of parking garage. It is what it is. 1 Star. Fireworks - You have to be a grumpy person to not like fireworks. The show was great, with plenty types of fireworks. There was music piped in through speakers in our area. The finale could have been better, but hey it's a fireworks show. 2 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. This was my first experience with fireworks but not my last. I really loved the spectacular views of the firework above the lake. Best of all, it wasn't extremely crowded and a fun time overall. Well done, Irving! 1 Star.

There are ample coffeeshops, restauraunts, parks and things to do in the area. In the downtown area, I recommend checking out the Fortworth botanical gardens, kimball art museum, Amon Carter museum, Inspiration Alley, boulevard brew,the shops at clearfork, grow plant shop, Archie's garden land, race street coffee, gifted (gift shop), kayaking near panther island pavilion and hiking at eagle mountain park. Love Downtown Dallas…read more I really like Downtown Dallas. It's clean, easy to explore, and overall feels safe. What really stood out to me was the Southern hospitality--the people in Texas are incredibly friendly and welcoming. My only real complaint is the parking. I honestly think downtown parking should be free, or at least much more visitor-friendly. Don't make it difficult or expensive for tourists who are coming to spend money and enjoy the city. Make it easier for visitors to have a good experience and explore more of downtown. I hope Dallas doesn't become like Downtown San Diego, which felt surprisingly quiet and empty the last time I visited. A vibrant downtown should make tourists feel welcome and encourage them to stay, explore, eat, and shop. Overall, I really enjoyed Downtown Dallas. Great atmosphere, friendly people, clean streets, and a good sense of safety. Definitely 5 stars from me! I include map of M-line trolley. It's free you can explore the area easily.

Dallas still had electric street cars back then so I spent a lot of time looking out the window at the amazing sight of a big citys heart. I watched downtown slowly die over the years,the electric street car cables removed and tracks paved over. Shops and restaurants went out of business. Then one day back in the late 80s I was driving down main street and realized it was a ghost town. Literally trash blowing down the street,broken plate glass windows etc. Then after reaching economic obselesence,the investors,devopers and architects did what they do best here... Built new. Kept building and to this day still renewing this great city. Unbelievable change in only twenty years. I love the new " downtown" Dallas

What a lovely Little Rock Art Path in Keller Texas- nestled just off the right hand side parking…read morelot of Keller Point. As you walk through the path between the trees, you'll see a bridge and to the right there is a little cute bicycle on a stick. This little wind vane indicates the free bike tire air pump available. As you face the bridge, with the bike tire pump on your right, look immediately left and you'll see the opening of the rock path . As you stroll along, you'll see a wonderful, creative display of rock artwork! Also, some beautiful tributes to loved ones. There are also several benches to sit on. I loved the Betty White tribute. Was touched be several tributes to local loved ones. The path has a canopy of trees keeping it a cool place to walk during the hot summer days. Hope this posting inspires young and older artists ‍ to paint and bring more for all to see and enjoy!
