Since RI changed their licenses, the scanners in MA will read them as invalid the first time, but if you run it again, they scan. I have never had an issue with the staff running my license twice when I go to Martys until today when the manager told me it is "illegal" to run a license again through their system and refused to let me puchase a bottle of champagne as I am legally able to do. Not only is this not a law, the liquor store down the street also needed to run my license twice and sure enough it was approved. If you're from out of state do NOT shop here, unless you want a confrontation with staff that treats you skeptically and rudely for something that's wrong with their own system.
