Oh, dear, my cheese palate has been gentrified. We were offered tastes of whatever we wanted to try and omg what a game changer. Cabot is no bargain after I've had cheese so superior. Will have to put myself on a cheese budget. But it is easier to have less when the taste is so unforgettable. Great service. Just hope they get the sandwiches that they already sell in Marlborough. I live in Hopkinton and we could use some great sandwiches. My very own Italian sub is super-good (learned from a deli in Westport, CT, in the '70s. No longer there of course. Like McDonald's Subway has co-opted the best about our 20th century foods and turned it into some of the worst. It's great that there are no fast-food options here. The "baby" Vin Bin reminds me of the first Vin Bin. Its decor is along the lines of the Marlborough store, prices are the same just in a smaller package. Same cheese quality, same wine selection and craft beers, and same lovely service (I caveat depending on who is in the store, it is VERY well known among regulars (intimidating/weird vibe type of thing) but we overlook it and come back later, because we love this business and the family that runs it. Of course when you walk into the Hopkinton store, you miss the oh so familiar and intoxicating aroma of Chef Mike L's food!!!!!! So, get in the car after you get your wine and drive over to Marlborough and grab one of Mikes' delectable, addictive and crave worthy sandwiches and soups - then all will be in balance in the Universe!!! Love this place. I needed a last minute order of champagne delivered for a big family event and Aaron was super helpful and friendly. He made recommendations over the phone and offered to deliver the case that night. So last weekend I was visiting friends in Hopkinton, my first time going to their 'new home', so naturally didn't want to go empty handed. I figured there's gotta be a wine store or something close by so I did some research on Yelp and bookmarked this place. What a treat! While they don't have a very large selection of wine- it's more of a boutique type wine store, and they don't have many under $10 selections (at least that I noticed) they do have a decent selection of $10-20 range of bottles. Apparently they do craft beers as well but I am not a beer drinker and ZERO idea about that so steered clear. Next pleasant surprise....they have cheeses & spread etc as well as bread. I was delighted! They make suggestions & even let you taste the cheeses to help you decide. Had quite a variety. I also grabbed a French bread & some fig jam (goes SO well with some cheeses). Was all set with my two gift bags! We swung by the next day again to pick another cheese which has a coconut flavor to it, yum!!!! The staff is very friendly & helpful. They have tastings as well. Don't know how these guys do it -- they always seem to have some pretty exclusive beers, which is surprising given how they're tucked away rather inconspicuously in a plaza in an unassuming Hopkinton, MA. While not setting any records in terms of quantity available, Vin Bin's got a pretty well-curated list of beers, clearly opting for the quality side in the "quantity vs. quality" debate. Now, are there better craft beer stores within a 50 mile radius? I won't name any names...but yes. Several other big name craft beer stores can be mentioned in the same breath, but what vaults Vin Bin into the same category is their well-crafted selection, wine offerings, and cheese pairings. It's a one-stop shop for the finer things in life. Now, if they could just add a whiskey selection, I'd have no trouble letting them charge me for rent. read more

Knowledgeable staff and a great selection. They normally have some sort of tasting going on, making sure their clientele is well aware of new stuff and has an opportunity to get out of their comfort zone with new drinks and cheeses. unlike other yelpers, i find the prices here to be quite high. that said, the product is very good, and usually worth it. the cheeses, especially the coconut gouda, are phenomenal. the real reason i come to this location of vin bin is for the service. the employees are exceptionally friendly and helpful. their willingness to help can be a bit overwhelming for the casual browser, but they're easily dismissed (and genuinely do want to help). if you're looking for a great craft beer, or need some assistance choosing a wine, i highly recommend you visit this spot. you won't be disappointed. read more

This place is the bees knees. If you're looking for wine beer cheese gourmet snacks they have it all. They even carry a wide variety of seasonal beers. Very reasonably priced, lovely staff, and love love the selection of cheeses they carry. Always in and out, never had to wait and they're always super friendly and wanting to help. I've grown really fond of this place. Excellent selection of beer and wine, but the real revelation for me was how outstanding really good cheese can be. They have turned me on to some great cheese options I would have never discovered or considered by myself. And they are enthusiastic about letting you try various cheeses to see what you like.
