That being said, they are willing to give a discount on the ticketed prices and as we all know things have gone up considerably, with the exception of some of our salaries! (Ha!) Either way, we are all trying to make a buck and a few years back (precovid) I frequently visited this particular store because I hung out with my sister who loved coming here for lotto tickets (scratch offs) and in between she would play the quarter pushing machine. Then I moved within 2 miles of my sister and this became our jam. Like, if you hated everywhere there was to go except one place where you didn't have to dress up and if you did it was always complimentary like family telling you that you looked so nice....it was that much more awesome because these Turkish gentlemen that overcharged us for everything (we joked!) and got mad when we won a $50 out of the quarter machine----- actually asked me how my sister was- after i attempted to go into the store and pretend i forgot who they were with my sunglasses on, And after over 2 years-and he/the owner, remembered her and her emotional support dog that only ever got in the way and ONLY helped her-they loved her because she was a regular, and sweet as hell, and she was part of their community, and simply because people aren't always horrible, they accepted us where we were-and then, thinking I managed to go unrecognized the owner says, "How is your sister?" I got that sick feeling in my stomach because I wanted to grab him and hug him and scream, but I looked at him and looked away and said, "she died. She died last year." And I could go on and give you details, but I won't. Because for a little store in a little town that I've always loved, these guys showed me they cared, not only that, but remembered, remembered their community, one lone customer and her dog...and her sister...me. Even when I hoped not to be recognized and quite frankly, thought I had become unrecognizable, he still saw ME...and who they are serving and to me that's beyond stellar. Thank you guys-much appreciated! It's not your deals, nor your great selection, it's your fun, your light heartedness, your kindness, your teasing and poking and good laughs we all had-you remembered her-THANK YOU. Ringing someone up at a register ISNT JUST that sometimes-opportunity to serve others is a beautiful and gracious task-so, wanting it or not- accepting our little spats throughout our few years of frequenting your store-and more-thx!!!!

Right or wrong, I consider myself a foodie, and whenever I am home in Naples, I love entertaining my friends and family. This means trying out all sorts of new recipes, some of which require some hard-to-find ingredients. Whenever I am cooking anything Latin American, I turn to Rose Food Mart to find those ingredients. They have such a wide array of products and their owners are so knowledgeable and helpful that it's impossible to go wrong here. If ever there is a product I need that they don't happen to have, they know just who to call to get it, and can get it to me within 24 hours, if not the same day. In my book, that is what I consider AMAZEBALLS service! I hate to give out a secret, but this is Yelp, so I figure, why not? This is also the place where I buy ALL of my scratch-off lottery tickets. It's my guilty pleasure whenever I am home in Naples, and I always manage to win at least $50. Update on my take home of the lasagna and Spanish ravioli…read more Ravioli was good. The wife complained the pasta was a little thick, but I was ok with it. For $12 you get 16 pieces. Plenty for 2-3 people. The lasagna. This might be my biggest disappointment this year. Lasagna is one of my favorite dishes, I don't know if I've ever had one I couldn't finish... until this day. I dunno, maybe the beef went bad? At first I thought it was the cheese. I was confused, it had a chemical smell to it. I was thinking maybe this is some exotic Italian cheese they put on top, but when I isolated the ingredients to try to figure out what was giving off the smell and taste, it ended up being the meat. The ingredients said "beef" but I've never had beef taste like this before. I've literally never thrown out lasagna up until this point. I tried to power through it, but stopped after eating about 20%. The thought of taking another bite still haunts me. I was really hoping I was going to love this place. So sad.

How many times have you wished you could sample wine before buying? The store is not only well decorated, it has a friendly staff with a sense of humor. I'll share this joke from the guy behind the counter. Q. How can you tell it's Fall in Naples? A. Because of the changing license plates. That's funny and so true, this time of year, Naples is swamped with snowbirds. Dagny's is an impressive store and I'd never been until recently. I really enjoyed eating this thing. I can't even remember the last time I had chicken parm at a restaurant, but the bartender said it was her favorite. I also tried a $12 happy hour Eggplant Rollatini. It was pretty good. I sat at the bar and there is 1 tv here. Looks like they have a giant outdoor space and tons of people were outside enjoying their night. Too bad not many items are actually on the happy hour menu, but it is offered Sunday - Thursday All night and on Friday & Saturdays from 3-6pm. Naples, FL WOW!!!! We agreed that this is our favorite…read moredinner of the trip...and we've had some good ones! The decor sets you in a little slice of Greece and is simple yet elegant. First off..Emily and Alex greeted us like family when we got there and made us feel welcome (the Saganaki was amazing, the best we've ever had...thank you!). We began with an appetizer called Dolmades, which we have had before at another Greek restaurant, these were in a totally different ballpark though with a Lemanto sauce that was out of this world delicious, and Dolmades are hand rolled grape leaves filled with a beef and rice mixture and covered with the Lemanto sauce (a tangy egg/lemon sauce)...as amazing as these were I knew we were in for a great night! Emily and Alex then sent out a Saganaki for us to enjoy and get the chance to yell "Opa!" The Saganaki is (and this is straight from the menu cause I actually had no idea) an Imported Kefalograviera Cheese (goat and sheep milk) that is flambeed table side and everyone celebrates by yelling "OPA!" when it gets lit....also, the best we've ever had! Terri ordered the Chicken Souvlakia. For those who ask "What's that?" I'll tell you....It's Chicken marinated in Greek seasonings, skewered and char-broiled and comes with pita and a creamy Greek dressing for dipping, and a side of lemon roasted oregano potatoes. She said everything was amazing and she even tried (and liked) the creamy Greek dressing! If you know Terri, "if its not Thousand Island get it away from me" is the norm...so this shocked me. I ordered the Lamb Shank, which is something I have never had before...I've heard that Lamb can be " gamey" so it's generally something I'll shy away from. But watching the episode of TripleD where they featured this dish I was confident that these folks know what they're doing with a Lamb Shank..and am I ever glad that I did...their preparation for this dish pretty much ensures that the gamieness that you may expect isn't going to be a problem. They slowly braise it with vegetables, red wine, and other fresh herbs...the result is a beef so tender that it literally is fall off the bone! It reminds me of a roast my Grandma used to make but a richer and more depth of flavor beef. It was simply amazing! It's served over a bed of Mykonos style orzo (a Greek style of pasta cooked risotto style with a tomato base that at first glance looks like rice but its a pasta)...then they finish it with lamb gravy and parmesan. And it is fantastic!!!!! Thank you to Emily, Alex and their entire team that really treated us like we'd known them for years...we didn't find out about Mykonos Kuzina until we were headed back home from vacation last year and were totally bummed that we'd missed out on getting to their place. From the day we got home last year I started planning on stopping by their place ... it was the first place on my list of stops we had to make. Sometimes you get an idea or concept in your mind and you make expectations that cannot be met...I was a bit nervous that maybe I had done that myself here but I'm happy to say that Mykonos Kuzina, Emily and Alex and their entire team not only met but exceeded my expectations....Thank You!
