My mom says this is her favorite restaurant in the Naples area. I can see why she says that. I had super high hopes coming in here, and I had a great meal, and a phenomenal $16 French Italian Martini, and the food was excellent, but not an all-timer. I absolutely love a big and filling chicken parm. And boy oh boy, did DeRomo's deliver. For $31 you get a giant cut of chicken parm with some spaghetti and sauce all over. I really enjoyed eating this thing. I can't even remember the last time I had chicken parm at a restaurant, but the bartender said it was her favorite. I also tried a $12 happy hour Eggplant Rollatini. It was pretty good. I sat at the bar and there is 1 tv here. Looks like they have a giant outdoor space and tons of people were outside enjoying their night. Too bad not many items are actually on the happy hour menu, but it is offered Sunday - Thursday All night and on Friday & Saturdays from 3-6pm. In typical Naples area fashion, I came in here around 8pm and was one of a few people in the restaurant. By 9pm I was basically the last person here. read more

A truly excellent Italian Restaurant in Bonita Springs. I had the Beef Carpaccio and the Veal Piccata. The portion on the carpaccio was enormous. The combination of the marinated red peppers, perfect beef, capers, cheese and capers was one of the best I've ever had (and beef carpaccio is a favorite of mine). I also had the veal piccata which was flavorful with a very tender veal. Perhaps the only minor complaint on the food was the cannoli shell was a bit softer than I prefer. He was very personable and we were impressed that he took the time to be sure we were happy with our meals. DeRomo's Restaurant can be found in the shopping district known as the Promenade at Bonita Bay. DeRomo's is a fantastic Italian eatery that features a gourmet market attached to it. The food and service were absolutely incredible; we loved the pasta fagioli, the ravioli, and a special dish of grilled shrimp with spinach, garlic, and oil. It's been awhile since we came to DeRomos Market. We usually come here once a year for at least their baked goods. Their Italian cookies are great gifts, if not just for the family. Yesterday I came for the dinner for 2 to go food meals. You get a protein, and 2 vegetables for $29.99. We bought dinner to go for 4 and they were wonderful. We had chicken francais, meatloaf, mash potatoes, string beans, and pasta salads. I have always enjoyed DeRomos.The food and service are consistently good. Have been coming for nearly 10 years. Recommend dining earlier or later so that staff is less harried compared to the peaks. I want to comment on an outstanding strawberry/rhubarb pie we bought at their gourmet market. It was the best we have had in over 40 years and matches the quality of the glory days of Marie Callenders in the late 70's, early 80's in Phoenix AZ , That was the standard that my wife and I compare any pie to. I am rating the restaurant as I didn't buy anything in the market but the market is very cute and offers lots of specialty items I was with my senior parents and first let me say the waiter was outstanding. He is gifted at being a people-person! Now in to the food You first get a bread basket with herb-infused butter. Holy yum! My mom got pasta fagiole soup which she said was great My dad got the mussels and sucked down every one of them and he is a super PICKY eater (think of a 6 year old!) I got a specialty salad of pear, pomegranate and fennel. It was delicious My mom and I split the scallop and shrimp risotto- OMG it was outstanding!!! I can't say enough about the food. Top notch! The Romos restaurant has a very unique situation. They actually have a Italian deli and supermarket attached to the restaurant. Believe me this place is truly Italian. We found the help to be very friendly and useful. Although we did not eat everything on the menu we did notice quite a few items that we would have liked to order but we could not eat it all. We also had a very pleasant tour of the different stations inside the deli. They have a nice Bakery then they also have a dessert section and then there's the coffee bar and let's not forget they're fresh sliced deli counter. The visit to DeRomo's Gourmet Market has always been a great experience. The French Dip and Nonna's Meatball Parmigiana were fantastic. The bread is soft and fresh. Both sandwiches were great. The Fettuccine Bolognese was had at lunch on a different day at the restaurant. The service and food were fresh and fabulous. The restaurant was relatively quiet except for two bartenders that we could hear across the restaurant. The only disappointment came when I ordered a dessert to go. First we went to store for cannoli and biscotti. Had them before and delicious We went to restaurant for dinner. My husband had a huge veal chop parm and I had the osso bucco. I asked for mashed potatoes instead of risotto and waiter refused. I had to order a $9 side of mashed potatoes even though mashed potatoes much easier and less expensive to make than risotto. Food was very good . What brought this down was not the food or lack of service but this server was actually rude! He was rude by not asking anyone if I could exchange and in his response. Second I asked if the dried tomatoe and olives could be left off goat cheese bruschetta. He said no but I saw it was not all mixed together. Very easy not to put on top of goat cheese. I didn't finish appetizer so said I wanted to take home and he came back and threw down a plastic to go box and left. I said to my husband guess we gotta do it ourselves. Last my husband had veal chop parm. As you can see by pic it's huge. And when he historically brought home leftovers before they would arrange everything in boxfor him. Waiter came back with again two boxes and was getting ready to leave. My husband asked him if someone could arrange his to go box with the veal chop and they always had a way or doing it. The waiter kinda grumbled, picked up veal cop with his hands, cut veal off the bones and left the meat in plate for my husband to do himself. I was shocked and furious. DeRomos is by far my favorite Italian restaurant in the Naples area, not even close. I expect great service and food, which they consistently deliver. On this occasion I did something different, trying two seasonal appetizers- pastrami filled ravioli and fried green tomatoes. The pastrami ravioli was a new taste- I have never seen that on a menu before- and it was tremendous. The fried green tomatoes where also done in an unusual way and they were also outstanding. I had a great dining experience at DeRomo's Restaurant. In the past, it has been the go to spot to take guests but I had not been there in a couple years. I chose to go because it was my birthday. Immediately upon approaching the reservation desk and giving my name, she said happy birthday which apparently was conveyed through my profile information. Within minutes, the manager came over to wish me happy birthday, tell my server to take good care of me for my birthday and got me a complimentary cocktail. The server was very attentive the entire time.I was pretty amazed by this level of attention and started paying attention to how the manager was dealing with customers. He greeted many by name and others he was very personable as he showed them to their tables. While I was enjoying my first course, I called him over to compliment him on his and his staff's excellent manner with which they dealt with customers. He later went to the next table and came back to tell me the couple next to me heard it was my birthday and picked up my tab. I was genuinely touched by the gesture and had a nice conversation with them. After the meal, I had such a large portion, I had another meal for the next day. The service was very good and they were able to accommodate everyone's specific meal requests. Had a pretty poor experience on an order this morning. I ordered a Hazelnut latte with Oat Milk, only to receive it as a regular latte with what seemed to be whole milk. But, supposedly they have a new chef and decided to give them another try First, the bread was harder than a rock, must have been microwaved and could not cut with a knife. This was not prepared by a chef but a cook from a diner that couldn't care. My date had a med salad of wilted greens and a salmon over cooked, dry and no flavor. Ordered a tiramisu and there were no lady fingers just lots of fluff with no taste. Ordered a cappacino which was boiling hot, lots of froth with no taste. Adding insult - a Manager came over and asked about the meal - told him the pasta was so overcooked it was like raw dough. This manager ?? Smiled, nodded and walked away. This restaurant needs to close and hire a professional staff that understands fine dining. My family and I have been going to DeVomo's Italian Restaurant in Bonita Springs for about five years. We're seasonal visitors and have always considered it one of our favorite Italian spots in the area. The food was always excellent, the portions generous, and the value terrific. Unfortunately, our dinner last night was a real disappointment. We hadn't been there for about six or eight months, and it seems things have changed. The cocktails were the first sign--$15-$16 each for glasses mostly filled with ice and very little alcohol. They looked nice but were weak and not worth the price. We ordered the calamari appetizer next. It came out dark brown and a bit rubbery--edible but clearly overcooked or fried in oil that hadn't been changed recently. For $19, I expected better quality and presentation. The biggest letdown, though, was the main course. The portions were shockingly small for the prices. I ordered the eggplant parmigiana ($28), which would barely fill an Italian sub roll. It came with no side of pasta--just the eggplant. The other dishes at our table were similar: the food tasted fine, but the servings looked more like lunch portions than dinner entrees. For a family of four, our bill came to over $250 with drinks, appetizer, and dessert. For that amount, diners should leave satisfied, not hungry. Pasta is one of the least expensive items a restaurant can add, and a small side would have made a big difference. Even dessert missed the mark. The ricotta cake tasted like it had just been thawed--dry and crumbly, though it did have good flavor. To be fair, the service was good and the ambience remains excellent. But when a restaurant's food quality and portion size slip this far, it's hard to justify going back. DeVomo's used to be one of the best values around, but based on this visit, I'm sad to say it no longer is. read more

We stopped in for lunch yesterday and what a mid-day treat we had. First we started with the soup of the.day, Tomato Basil and their Pasta Fabiola. Both were delicious! We only ordered them to taste, our server packaged them up for us so we could take the leftover home for dinner. The Pasta Fagioli is very authentic with ditalini pasta and cannellini beans both whole and blended into the broth. I ordered the special of the day which was Gnocchi with lobster and shrimp. So many flavors and so much lobster. It had a very rich cream sauce that was terrific. My husband ordered the Linguini Vongole which was excellent and cooked to perfection. Our waiter was super attentive and the manager kept checking on us several times...they are all about great service. We sat outside and enjoyed the quiet ambiance of their patio near the fountain.
