Tonight, I was golfing behind a six some, yes that's right. Their tee time was actually at 6:23 and 6:30 and it was under Henderson. I have never in my years of golfing seen a more disrespectful group of adults in my life. No respect for the course, throwing flags across the greens, scuffing their golf shoes on the greens. Matt is trying to make the course great for everyone but some people should not be allowed on any course.

Many long holes, a bunch of tight shots through the woods, a few makeable drives, and a couple nice wide open bombers. This course is quite difficult, but it's beautiful and enjoyable. Much of the first half of the course is wooded and hilly, which presents its own challenges, while the back half is much more wide open and sunny, but provides challenges of its own with some epically long holes. This place holds the distinction of being the only local course where I haven't yet lost a disc (knock on wood for me please), and because it's a little outside of town it's a bit less busy than some of the other popular spots locally (Oshtemo and Cold Brook in particular). It doesn't have water hazards like some of the local courses, despite being next to a lake (none of the holes abuts the lake at Robert Morris Park).

Walking up to the club house the grounds keeper turned the mower in my direction by the parking lot and I took a rock to the face. Guy on the mower just looked, no wave, no apology. Walk in and ask the lady about mowers not having a guard on them after telling her a rock was sent from the mower and hit me in the face and her reply was, "it's a zero turn. Shit happens" then she gets an attitude with me. "You seem upset, so just go get a cart and play". WTF? I won't be back this season. Only reason for the 4 is the course. Staff get 0

The gear for sale and for rent is really convenient, and the online waiver process is a snap. The only thing holding the stars back to 5 is that a couple of the staff have been pretty grumpy when the gym is busy. Most of the staff have been great, but it would be nice for all staff to make guests feel welcomed joyfully.

We can watch those with physical limitations, over come them through the tenacity of clever problem solving skills when climbing mountains. Even Reba McEntire used it as a symbol of overcoming great odds. In 2020, I sought to make this destination I frequented regularly. This was early in the year, before everything shut down and mountains were too dangerous again. However, I'll always have the good times forged climbing multicolored stones. This has been a place of enlightenment, of humbling, and a rebirth of capabilities. This enormous location, is an endless playground. There are all the challenges that excite nearly every kind of climber. Nearly any age can participate. Then the cherry on top, of a mountain of cream, is that the trainers/leaders are eager to encourage excitement in first time climbers. That is what separates this location from others, the kindness and willingness to teach others to be a good belay. It's clear that they want to spread the excitement over such a transformative hobby. It was so affective, I married the last person I took there on our first official date. It was a Covid wedding in 2021, but that only added to the excitement of climbing this mountain, we call marriage. Thank you for this location and its people.
