My husband said that I am the only person who travels and frequents candy shops. WRONG! There was no shortage of visitors to Canmore who were shopping there, who could not resist the lure. This is one of the best-stocked candy stores I have ever visited. They stock a ton of unique items from the Netherlands, Germany and Britain. I love checking out candies and snack shops whenever I go out of town or country. This place is so cool with candies that I have never seen before. A ton of British candies that I grew up eating, like Rowntrees and Maynard's. Some familiar candies like Nerds, Skittles, and Sweet Tarts but with a twist. Fun place to shop and try something new! Also a great place to buy chocolates and cookies made locally in Canada as souvenirs. Definitely check it out when you're in Canmore. read more

Soooooo over priced and old candy!!!!!! i wish I returned what I bought. I bought what was labeled as 3.50 per 100 grams prepackaged sour Dino's. came to over 120g . they tasted very poorly and were old and dry and chewy. very disappointed and rolls of love hearts which were way over priced and also old and tasted off . When I lived in Canmore this was one of my favourite stores because of the character of the store. The owner has old memorabilia which he collects and displays on the top shelves around the store. They range from old toys to nostalgic lunch boxes to collector items from all over the world. Throw in a huge inventory of candy items from new to old from modern licensed products to old Disney and other famous licensees like Pez. Children come into the store in awe and excitement looking at their new found wealth of choices from bulk candies to a variety of pop drinks to old fashioned candies to huge lollipops to candies from all over the world. Even adults get in on the excitement. Precovid on summer weekends this store is packed all day and night. Selection - really good over all. They, for some odd reason stock every kind of bizarre flavor of TaffyTown (a USA Mfgr) they can fit in there but of you want Vanilla, Choc, Strawberry, or something normal forget it. So yea, they do have one heck of a selection of goods and the shelves are well stocked but I have a feeling that's mostly because of the prices they charge. Compared to Calgary or Nanton candy shops they're close to double the price but then again it IS Canmore soooo ....... (grin) You can get the same for less if you snoop around. Wicked selection and a whole wall of Jelly Bellies! The store was so hot likely because it was PACKED! Everyone wanted candy on this busy Mother's Day weekend! The aisles are narrow but eventually you will find yourself at the back of the line to pay - but it goes quickly! The candies were fresh and deelish. Just like others have said, this is a shop crammed to the brim with sweet yummies and hordes of children that are inevitable in any successful candy shop. There is always something for me in this shop, if it's lemon heads or fudge, I can never walk out empty handed. Tonnes of bulk choices, so keep on your toes our you'll be hauling out a half pound of sour gummies before you know it. Last time I was in they had a nice selection of dairy milk we walked out with a salted peanut bar - why so good? I am a huge sucker for sweet and salty. I also love new and interesting chocolate bars, so big win there. They also have a variety of novelty and gag type gifts that these places often do have, we bought a couple of packs of those little snap things that used to be in high demand when I was a kid (remember them? you throw them on the ground and they snap - why this is so great...but it is!!!). You'll also find mustache kitsch, bacon related items, nice selection of Pez dispensers, and like Victor P. said, candy underwear. On top of all of this they also have a glass case by the till with home made type chocolates and the like. Not sure if they make them or source them but I have tried a pecan turtle type thing once but too be honest I usually am overloaded by the time I make it to the till and can't justify buying anything from there - someday. This little shop also has a location in Radium and Lake Louise, on top of that they also ship orders through their website. The last time we were in here, I noticed a letter taped up on the wall. We read it and it was an authentic "sorry I shoplifted here" letter from a kid. Seriously awesome. You should come in just to read that gem, it's worth it. read more

This place is legit. This little shop has candy that I have never seen anywhere else before. My favourite was the novelty gum packs with caption packaging like pocket morocco, or Greetings with a picture of a small dog sniffing a larger dogs but. Pretty hilarious stuff. I also loved checking out the insect candy. Yes candy made from freeze dried insects and larvae. Yuck but possibly yummy??? My kids snagged some fizz candy and some weird flavour of tictacs. How fun is it to enter a candy store and find all kinds of memories from your childhood. I have to admit we visit this candy store every time we are in Canmore, it's a treat we all enjoy. From harry potter, organic chocolate, European chocolate, jelly bellies, salt water taffy, retro, mints, British candy to chocolate covered haystacks, this candy store will have something for almost everyone. On this outing we found cherry coke, a favourite treat of my husbands, so we left with a case. This candy store never disappoints. A fun stop right on the main street in downtown Canmore. read more

Great selection, lots of vintage items that bring back nostalgia. Its a bit crammed if its busy, but the prices are reasonable and the staff was friendly when I was there. I can't go to Canmore without bringing back a bear claw (chocolate, nuts, caramel). Plus its just fun to peruse the shelves and chuckle at some of the odd and crazy candies you can get. read more

Cute shop with lots of nostalgic candies as well as recent favorites; mainly sold by weight. They also sell fudge and small souvenirs. I was completely ecstatic that they carried my favorite licorice toffee (Walker's) which I normally have to order online from an out of state distributor. You'll feel as if you walked into Wonka's candy store when you see the variety of treats available. read more

Biggest selection of candy I've seen in a single store -- and they even sell candy underwear! However, when we stopped by on 03 Aug 2011, they were out of Turkish delight in bulk, so we had to settle for prepackaged. "Not that there's anything wrong with that." ;) read more

So bad experience at this store. Most likely racism... We visited this store to buy some treats for my son but the guy working in the Sunday morning , most likely the owner, looked unhappy toward us and being so rude. I was looking at some products and this guy just passed too close to me almost hitting me....okay I thought it can happen.....I turned to the back side checking other ones and this guy came next to me and kept saying 'F***' and never stopped even after I left there and he passed me again saying 'F' words continuously. Now it is obvious that this guy hates some people like me has skin color because he did not do those bad and immature behavior to other WHITE girls in the store. A fantastic candy shop. There is a great selection, they are reasonably prices, and it is a lot quieter than the candy shops in Banff. I would suggest buying some of their bulk candy in which they have a ton choices for chocolate and candy. read more
