Customer service: 5 Location: 5 Affordability: 5 Cleanliness: 5 We visited this small shop yesterday while we were sightseeing the small town of Banff, Canada. This shop was conveniently located in the pedestrian area, so we had to walk to it. There is street and garage parking nearby, so that was no issue for us. Upon entering the shop, we were quickly greeted by two staff employees. The young lady was very friendly and helpful. She was very patient with us, as we tried to narrow down our selections. This shop offers a wide variety of sweet treats, so be ready to spend some money. @glampedlife

I was told one thing I needed to try in Canada was maple fudge, so I went to the first place I saw that sold it. This is a small place but has an almost overwhelming number of options. The employees were very helpful and patient while we were trying samples and choosing our sweets. We went with a piece of maple fudge and maple walnut fudge. The fudge is definitely softer than I was expecting, even after a few days it's still pliable. It's also smooth and not grainy, which I find is a large problem when it comes to fudge. The maple flavor is strong and the fudge is quite sweet, but that's expected since it's a dessert made of mostly sugar. I think this is a great place to stop by for a sweet treat if you like more decadent desserts over the other candy shops down the street.

There are many sweet shops along Banff Avenue and this one is the one to go to for no-frills with a HUGE variety of sweets, a lot of which are significantly cheaper than some other locations. It doesn't have the charm or huge candy collection of wrapped candy or charm of, for example, Banff Sweet Shoppe. But if you're looking for the kind of treats that need to be kept inside display cases, they have EVERYTHING. I was mainly looking to try some of the dipped apples and they actually had a full assortment here! I love what I got here and regret not also trying their matcha fudge lol. For those not Canadian, the dipped apples that are covered in what looks like M&Ms are actually covered in Smarties. Basically, Canadian M&Ms (still made by Nestle) but with a crunchier shell and a slightly different taste. There were also apples dipped in smashed Skor candy, which is a kind of butter toffee, and the Skor apple was AMAZING. Of all the sweets shops, I think this one is the absolute best when it comes to location, because it's in the center of all the restaurants and gift shops. The absolute closest parking (besides the minimal street parking when the road isn't blocked off) is the Bear Street Parking Lot. It's an open parking lot that (like the street parking) has an hourly rate of $3 per hour from 8 AM to 8 PM. If you manage to park there, you can cut through Park Avenue Mall (that backdoor is at the southeast corner of the lot) to Banff Avenue. The other main parking area is the Bear Street Parkade. Its first floor has the same hourly rate as the second floor up is completely free. For the most part, we used the parkade and the only drawback is that so do most people. Be sure to check the counter they have at the entrance for if there are still spaces available on the upper floors. Overall, I think we're going to come back to Banff at some point and I definitely have this spot marked out as a go-to. These were the kinds of treats that are great for taking along with you on outdoor adventures (side eyes Banff National Park). Maybe not the apples so much as all the fudges, the nutty and chocolatey treats, clusters and chews and brittles, etc. Next time, I would like the try their maple stuff, Icefields, Glaciers, Mountains, Bear Paws, Snails, and just...ALL OF THAT. There was just so much that looked SO GOOD! Would recommend.

This review is only for the caramel apples because that's all I ate. But I had three different ones and the were so good!!! And affordable ($5.95 each). They'll also kindly cut it for you if you ask! The salted caramel one and the door one are so damn good. The skor apple is basically a caramel apple with bits of toffee all around it too. Just looking at it gave me a cavity lol! Worth it! The apples themselves are fresh and crunchy!

My family and I have been going here for over 20 years! We're from Texas but visit Banff almost every winter. And we make several visits to the Fudgery to buy their delicious bear claws. The milk chocolate bear claws are where it's at! If you stop in Banff you GOTTA visit the Fudgery!

I had the oreo fudge at the Fudgery: big disappointment... It was NOT fudge, but plain old sugar fondant...

A good selection and they had samples which is always a win in my book. We tried a chocolate coconut ball. Delish.
