I hadn't had a tattoo in over seven years, and wanted one as a memory of my Cocker Spaniel Molly that passed away a year ago. Fortunately I was able to find where Tom was now working... at Olde Tyme Tattoo. It was great to hear his voice on the phone and explain what I wanted, and then set a date for my new ink. Tom has now done five of my tattoos and fixed another one. Tom is SO CREATIVE! You tell him what you are looking for, what you would like to have in the tattoo, etc... and he works his magic to create the most incredible art! He did a portrait tattoo of my dogs back in 2008. This time I was there to get a tattoo in memory of one of the dogs that had passed a year ago. When Tom finished my tattoo, I looked in the mirror and cried. IT WAS PERFECT! Today I came here to get my first tattoo, and let me just say Ronnie is absolutely amazing. He did such an amazing job and it's beyond what I could have imagined. The price wasn't too bad either, actually was lower than his original price. I really appreciate how he pays close attention detail. My friend, who was with me, informed me that a few times it looked like he was done, but after noticing some areas he could touched up, he fixed it. I came here for my first tattoo. I saw the reviews online and had been doing some research beforehand. I walked in to get a quote, not sure if I would actually go through with it, but I at least wanted to check the place out. Jon the owner quoted me the standard price as the tattoo I wanted was small and simple. I left the shop and returned two minutes later. Jon ended up doing the tattoo for me. They were able to take me right in, with no waiting. He was very patient and kind with me as I was nervous and expecting the worst kind of pain. It was a breeze, practically painless (not what I expected) and once it was drawn on, he was done in like 5 - 10 minutes. I couldn't have been happier and loved the results. Went here for my first tattoo a couple weeks ago without an appointment. Jon was really nice and his work was really really clean. There was one guy that kind of refused to talk to me when I asked him a question coming in, but I think maybe he just was having a bad day? Don't really know, but Jon was able to deal with my awkward ignorant self politely which was cool because I was super nervous. Old Tyme is an extremely clean and friendly shop. As soon as you walk in, someone is right there to help you out. The shop is not crammed at all every artist has plenty of space. I recommend Tom Clark. He has done a few major pieces on me. His lines are amazing and super clean. He can tattoo anything you want. I just tell him what I want and he sketches it and looks better that I imagined. He is super cool and easy to talk to so the time flies by. Very reasonably priced and he is very fast. I looked for awhile for the right place. I went to numerous shops, and to be quite frank it was a hassle, until I found Olde Tyme. I saw online first the great work these guys do. I thought I would have to deal with some egos when I walked in. How wrong was I ! These guys are professional, honest, and probably the most underrated shop in northern orange county. I'm not sure if the other reviews on here were written by friends, or I was just unlucky enough to get a bad experience, but I was checking around for a good tattoo shop to get a bluebird done, and looking around for reviews, this place seemed like it would be a great place considering how many positive raving customers they had. First of all, when me and my friend went into the shop, it was very clean and well organized, but the guys in there were drinking beers and had obviously smoked weed beforehand. We were skeptical about getting our tattoos, but when we spoke to the guys there, they seemed like they knew what they were doing. My friend got a small tattoo on her neck, which actually was very well done by her guy, but my tattoo is another story. My guy seemed completely sober, so I wasn't too worried about it. I had a picture of a specific tattoo that I wanted done. The guy said that he could do it, and I told him I wanted that exact bird. It was on a place that I couldn't really see, so I just had to trust him in that it would come out the same way. I know that tattoos can never be exact, but for some reason he did it COMPLETELY differently. I wasn't able to see it until later that night when I went home and had a friend take pictures of it of how differently it had come out! PLUS, after he was done, he didn't offer any free touchups after it was done, or give me any cleaning/aftercare tips. Nothing at all, when my friend who also got a tattoo got an aftercare sheet and was offered free touchups on her tattoo. So I went in the next day, and confronted him about it and he said he had "cleaned" up the tattoo because the original was not a good tattoo in HIS opinion. First of all, the original was what I had wanted and regardless of whether he thought it was a good tattoo or not, that's what I should have gotten. I pointed out the differences and he said that he couldn't even see them. If you can't tell the major differences then maybe you shouldn't be a tattoo artist!! And third, the original tattoo was not sloppy or messy in any way, it had great shading, great detail, great outlining. HIs was if anything, an oversimplified version of the original, and seemed very lazy in comparison. He told me that it was his artistic view, as if I know nothing about art. I may not be a tattoo artist, but I am an artist which was how I could tell the glaring differences. He offered to "fix" it once it healed, but after thinking about it, I would rather not take my chances there again and just go somewhere where my opinions on MY tattoo which is going to last FOREVER will actually be heard instead of just having someone else decide for me without even asking. read more

Went to Olde Tyme Tattoo for my first tattoo, an uncle of mine got ink done by Ronnie and it was amazing, so much detail, checked out his portfolio and I loved his style and work. I gave Ronnie a rough picture of what i wanted a few days prior, and when i got there he was all ready and set up, the shop is very clean and professional. When he showed me his drawing of the tattoo I was blown away! He changed it up a little bit so it would fit better on my calf. and it was amazing.When he was done there was not one flaw in the tattoo, everything was perfect. Unfortunately, I have to write a bad review. The shop was cool and clean, the tattoo guy was nice. However, the end result was not there. I got a tattoo of my last name on my arm. Nothing crazy. After well over a month, my tattoo, is not sharp looking, it is slightly cloudy. Almost murky. It is also slightly faded. The worst thing was this a joint family tattoo for my birthday; where my father and sister got the same type of tattoo: and their tats came out the exact same way. The artist even spelled my dad's tat wrong, even though my dad was last, and he was using the same last name!! These aren't any of our first tattoos, we all took the proper care after the fact. The work was just poor. I will not be coming back, nor would I refer anyone. read more

I don't recommend this place... I went there to get my 1st tattoo, and I just got a flower the size of my palm. The tattoo artist Jordyo first asked the other artist if he wanted to tattoo me, but he said he had an appointment. So Jordy went in the back drawing a rose. The tattoo artist who had an appointment, his client arrived and basically talked for 30 minutes and left, and so he was free to do my tattoo, but he seemed lazy. After Jordy0 came out with a drawing, I didn't like the size of it and how it looked. I showed him a picture of a rose that looked like a real life rose, but he ended up drawing a little bit of his style which i guess is a traditional rose. So he went back to do it again. Came back I told him the size was too big, and the rose didn't look real. He then said with the shading and outlining he'll make it come to life. So I trusted him. And went along got my tattoo from him. During the process he didn't ask me if I was ok? or not. Asked if this was my first tattoo. And I said yes. It took I believe an hour or less. I looked in the mirror and didn't expect to see the rose to be just traditional. After I didn't say thank you or anything and he charged me $123.00. And he told me the flower and the coloring would be around 120-50 dollars. A flower thats a size of my palms, and my hands are pretty small.... I feel liike he took advantage of me because this was my first tattoo. So I just paid and left. He didn't ask if I was ok with my tat? if anything was wrong with it. He just didn't do anything. He really made me uncomfortable with my first experience getting a tat. Plus he wasn't dressed professionally. Just a big blue faded sweater and some baggy jeans. I shouldve followed my instincts and left but I was stubborn... ive been to other tattoo shops and my friend received a beautiful flower and honestly her amount and her tattoo came out reeally good. with the decent price. read more

Olde Tyme Tattoo is a great shop to get a tattoo! I misunderstood their policy on appointments, but Jon Kelly, the owner, advised me on how it works and I completely understand now! People call all the time and tell them they are on their way to get a tattoo and then never show up. The artists can make appointments with a deposit, but if you call and say you're on the way, their policy is first come first serve! It makes sense! After reading Yelp reviews, I decided to go with Olde Tyme Tattoo. I truly never focus on bad Yelp reviews, so I based my choice on all the positive reviews and the great photos from those who have used Olde Tyme. Walking in I didn't have a preference on who ended up doing my tattoo simply because every artist there has great reviews. When I walked in I was greeted by Tom Clark, and although I was a little bit nervous he literally took one glance at my sample photo and went to the back for about 20 minutes and appeared with EXACTLY what I wanted. With a couple of minor adjustments I was seated in the chair. Tom was so gentle and super nice, my tattoo came out precisely how I wanted it. He was patient with my corrections to the design before we got started and never made me feel rushed. I am truly happy with my tattoo and my experience. I am already trying to think of another piece I want, and I will definitely go back to Tom!!! read more

What a disappointment! I did a lot of research before choosing Olde Tyme for a cover up tattoo. I was a walk in and spoke with Jordy. He looked at my tattoo and asked for a deposit for him to work on a drawing. We had also set an appointment a few days later for him to do the tattoo. I went in for the appointment, had to wait for him to draw it out, and when he put the stencil on me - disappointed! The work looks like amateur work. I expressed that I would rather him take his time to draw it out and be satisfied. He said he would call me when it was ready. It has been two months. I would NOT recommend this place! I came to Old Tyme to get my second tattoo, but I wish I had come here to get my first. I initially came with one tattoo in mind and possibly getting a quote for my next one. Little did I know getting both would be cheaper than my first tattoo at a different shop. They offered to do my tatoos the day of and for a mere 2 for $100. I was in utter disbelief. It was an offer I couldn't resist. The guys were extremely friendly and Jordan, my artist was not only professional throughout the process but extremely personable and easy to talk to. I felt a sincere connection with him and I will definitely go back to him or any of the wonderful artists at this shop for my next tattoo or tattoos. I have been wanting to get a certain tattoo for over a year and have spent the last few weeks trying to find the right place to do it. I go to school in Azusa and a lot of my friends have gotten tattoos around the Azusa/Covina area and they were good, but not great. I figured that if I will have this for the rest of my life, I want it to look great. I have a friend who has gotten 2 tattoos from Olde Tyme and she told me Ronnie did them. They looked incredible! One was text and the other was a custom design, and both were way better than the tattoos from my friends who got them in Azusa. I called and set an appointment with Ronnie and finally got mine done 2 weeks ago and I couldn't be happier with it! He does really good work, and the shop is really clean and nice. The artists there were really nice, and don't leave you waiting around when you walk in. I noticed that for myself and everyone else who came in, one of the workers/artists would always be available to greet new people and answer questions. I have already recommended this place to a few friends, and I think they do great work. My tattoo (Hebrew text) has nice dark ink, clean lines, it's straight, and it healed really nicely. This shop is everything you would want it to be when deciding where to go to put something permanently on your body. The shop is clean, and has an atmosphere that makes you feel like all is right in the world. Though I have only had the pleasure of having one artist work on me, I have spent enough time in the shop to witness the other artists completing work that I would be proud to wear, as well as seen them show complete attentiveness not only to their clients, but potential ones walking into the door. As for Tom, I have had him complete two pieces for me, one that required two sittings, and I can tell you that his work is flawless. I still look in the mirror everyday and love what he created personally for me. I gave him ideas and wants, and he turned them into art.
