This review is specifically for Christina Harris. Other than my brother-in-law, she is the only other tattoo artist that I trust to put ink on my body. I haven't been to her for a while so this review is very much long overdue. Before her, I have gotten my tattoos done by male artists. I would only get small pieces done so I would only have to pay minimum. The first time I got a bigger piece, I went to a spot in Brea. This piece didn't require a lot, if at all, of shading or detailing. It was a silhouette of a tree. I felt that I was overcharged. I was also very naive too so maybe they thought that they could get more money out of me. I definitely didn't think that the finished product was worth the price. It looked like he took a stencil of a tree and sharpied inside of it. After that experience I didn't get a tattoo for a really long time. Long story short, a girl came into my workplace with a tattoo that I liked and asked who her artist was and she gave me Christina's card. After about a year, I was ready for my next tattoo. I had called the place on the card and they said she no longer worked there. I looked her name up on Yelp and her name came up at Autumn Moon and I've been her client ever since. She's done several of my tattoos and even fixed my tree to make it less shitty. Now I'm actually proud of it. She is fucking rad. She really gets my aesthetic and she's a fantastic artist. She really listens to what you want. She takes her time and has a soft hand. She's very genuine and she loves animals. Her paintings are awesome too. Came here on a referral by a friend who had Christina tattoo him. It was a blended bear with pine trees and I knew I wanted something like a snow mountain with pine trees and a snowboard theme. We started off with a consult to give her ideas of what I wanted and I gave her a few pictures which she liked. I wanted something that was a collaboration but really the artist's own "original" so that it would be unique. This was my first tattoo and I wanted it to go perfectly (I spent years contemplating and months deciding on the design ideas). Christina has an enthusiasm that instilled confidence that I picked someone who wasn't just going to "mail in" what would be a permanent part of my body. We spent a little time back and forth on emails and when I came in for my scheduled appointment she had something prepared for me... Which I loved. When she put the stencil on, I felt like I had to rely on her and was happy with the location. She then decided to move it up higher on my bicep and when she did, I agreed that it was much better. This seems like a small thing, but it let me know this was an artist who took pride in each tattoo and strove to make it the best possible. The shop is clean and they have a family atmosphere between the artists and assistants. It's a clean operation (I watched the sanitation procedures) which made me feel good. Christina has a great personality and is a very talented artist. The other people and the banter made the time go by fast. I was fortunate that the painful bicep area wasn't really painful. I attribute at least half of that to Christina's "touch." As I watched two other artists (one was in his last week) I felt like this was a parlor with very talented artists which I could recommend to anyone who could pick their artist based on the preferred style. I'll be posting the photo once it heals (it's already on my Instagram). The detail in the snowboard bindings continues to make me smile). I've had many compliments (except for those friends who made fun of me for getting a tattoo at all).
