Richmond Cemetery…read more Richmond Cemetery is in downtown Richmond, Kentucky. It's a historic cemetery that has been in use for more than 150 years. I always visit when I am in the area. I lived and went to school nearby. I love the old old, very old, areas of the cemetery. The grave markers tell a lot of stories. The tombstones are works of art. I have memories of coming here and sitting around with friends as if it was a park. We had good times in a peaceful atmosphere. The first time I got High with two friends we were sitting on the grass in the middle of the tombstones. Then we laughed and laughed and went to Dairy Queen for Ice Cream Cones. Happy memories of the cemetery. We came back often to escape the regiment like restrictions of the college atmosphere during those days. That's another review. This cemetery started me out on a path of visiting cemeteries that are historic. My daughter must have inherited my passion. We visit cemeteries when we travel together. All thanks to the beauty I saw here in Richmond. The last time I visited here she was with me. You can feel the spirits. Besides the tombstones I love the trees and landscaping. It's just a beautiful place to me. I wish I had photos! The place is well kept. Interment records are available to search on line. I'm not sure what the cost is for burial. I don't live there now and anyway I plan to have a green burial. Really, whatever my daughter decides is fine! I'm not going to know! One thing I know, I'm sure I'm not going to be buried in Richmond!

I should mention that my father passed away on Thanksgiving around 4:00AM, and Grant and Tony were at the house probably 30 minutes after receiving the call, despite the holiday and early hour. Working within the industry, I was impressed with the standard of care Johnson's provided to my dad, and all of the little, extra things they did to show their compassion, to make our time of grief easier, and how they aided in my fathers funeral mass and celebration of life to make it a memorable, healing event. Grant was an exemplary professional, always checking with the family and working with us to ensure that everything was okay, explaining all of our options, guiding us through the process, and making sure everything was to our preference. We were pre- planning both of our funerals. I am writing this unknown to Milward. I am a veteran and Mr. Hardy knew all about what to expect with Camp Nelson funerals. No up-selling just the facts. So pricing was fair and you choose the package that suits your needs. Casket cost seems to have the greatest room for savings if you don't forget that you are going to bury it not drive it around town. Mr. Hardy said he would meet us at any of Milward locations so we chose the North Broadway facility because it had the most caskets on display with pricing and descriptions attached. There are wooden and metal caskets. Research whether a gasket is important and the importance of the thickness (gauge) of metal caskets. It will help you choose a casket. Mr. Hardy was a good person.

I am deeply disappointed in this situation, as Taul Funeral Home's facility and staff seems so friendly and professional. The rest of the staff continues to be so, but Neil, who I am told runs four businesses, including Taul Monument Company, will not return my emails or phone calls.
