I have lived here for two years, have good rapport with office staff (Austin is very helpful and communicative), and have had swift responses from maintenance. It's incredibly affordable, has some character from 1939 (original wood flooring from that year, some original quirky doorknobs, and cute architecture). I wish that all units had the possibility for washer and dryer hookups, but for the price, I'm absolutely NOT complaining about the washers and dryers being located in the basement. we've literally lived here since early November, the heating system is soo old that in this winter it's cold everyday there's always a breeze in the apartment. There's no thermostats. Predatory Landlords! Their business practices are smarmy and gross. Their goal is to keep everyone's security deposit and they use illegal ways to do it. They will charge you for use of carpet, use of blinds, etc - all of which is illegal by Ohio Law. They do this as a matter of course even though they know it's illegal, and you have to fight with them before they will change it. However, since it is illegal, they will eventually give in. then they act like they are in the right but giving in because they are charitable. These are predatory practices, and they are robbing people who are the least able to pay and those who have the least knowledge (like foreign students). They Attorney General of Ohio should investigate - I hope someone has the means for a class action lawsuit. read more

I moved here in September 2023 and I absolutely love it here! All the staff at the rental office have been just super! So friendly and helpful! The maintenance and housekeeping folks are wonderful, and the complex is so beautiful and charming with all the fantastic architecture and views, with plentiful old growth hardwood trees throughout. My husband and I were at Olentangy Village Apartments for 1 yr. We had complained that the carpet was not clean when we moved in but we're told that we would have to move our furniture so they could clean it, it was never done. So we moved out and Olentangy Village hit us with a bill for replacing the carpet and pet sealing the floor under the carpet . Unbelievable !!!!!! We do not recommend Olentangy Village to live in. Also don't rent a garage there they are rat infested. The rats chewed our things we stored in the garage. Luckily they didn't damage our car. read more

I have lived at the village since August 22. My roommate and I have absolutely loved it. Everything is so walkable. The staff are friendly and super helpful. I love that they remember our names. We have met so many amazing people here. The maintenance people are always so nice and knowledgeable. It it always clean and all issues get dealt with in a timely manner. I've lived in Olentangy Village for over 2 decades (the Village); I love older architecture and the quirks that come with it. The people who work here make the experience even better. The staff are responsive, friendly, and helpful. The people in the maintenance department do a wonderful job of upkeep on the apartments and the exteriors while the office staff are engaged with the community. This is not a safe place to live. I have only lived here 8 months during that time my and my roommate's vehicles have been broken into and stolen multiple times. We rented a supposed "secure" garage from them and one day later my roommate's car was stolen from it. We have suffered $27,000 in property since moving in here. Even though there are many camera's on the exterior of the building management refuses to provide access to footage even when the crime occurred in front of the camera. If you enjoy your safety, do NOT move to Olentangy Village Apartments. read more

If I could rate this place 0 stars, I would. I never write reviews but feel this is necessary.. I have lived here a year and 6 months. During that year and 6 months my car has been stolen or has had parts stolen, 3 times.. the leasing office has not done anything and refuses to do anything to help this not happen. They will do whatever they can/charge you whatever they possibly can to make an extra penny. They do not email or let other tenants know about theft going on and refuse to get cameras or even signs to warn off theft. It takes forever for maintenance to fix any ongoing problems. The people who work here are AWFUL and to be completely honest it is not worth what they want in rent in the slightest. Great location but if you care about your belongings or want to be treated with any kind of respect or human decency... do not live here. I wish there was more I could do to warn people of this place, do not live here!! I was also charged for not returning items (key fobs and parking passes) during my move out, which these items are not even items that I was given but they do not have proof so I was charged. The Apartments: There are two distinct apartment options at Olentangy Village (OV), the Village portion was built in 1937, and has few modern amenities, though it does have its benefits. The other option includes the identical River and the Ravine complexes - buildings constructed within the last few decades and with all the modern amenities one would expect. I'll now give a rundown of what you can expect if living in the Village and if living in the River/Ravine: - The Village: tall ceilings, hardwood floors, large windows in every room, and lower rent. Those are the central benefits of the Village apartments. I live in a one-bedroom, 715 square foot Village apartment. There is an entry foyer with two closets, a small, full bathroom (with some of the BEST water pressure I've ever encountered!), a VERY small kitchen (sans dishwasher or garbage disposal, and with a small stove), a large bedroom (w/ a small closet), and a reasonably large living/dining room. My apartment offers plenty of comfortable space. The big cons are: no air conditioning, the small kitchen, no laundry machines in the unit and the inability to directly control the heat of the apartment (as the steam heat can only be adjusted by playing with valves on the radiators, which is an imprecise science, to say they least). All in all I like my apartment, and especially for the price ($605 a month). And there lies the Villages primary advantage: it's cheap! - The River/Ravine: modern amenities - Central air and heat, modern, large (by comparison) kitchens (with dishwasher!) and bathrooms, larger closets, carpeted floors, standard height ceilings, elevators, and closer parking-lot parking. The downside to these apartments are the higher prices, and the lack of the distinct character that comes with the Village apartments. - Choosing between the two: I chose the Village for two main reasons: the lower price and the character of the apartment. I love the hardwood floors, tall ceilings, and old brick buildings. The Amenities: a fitness center and pool serve all OV residents (both Village and River/Ravine). The fitness center is very small (think: maybe 3x the size of a small home gym). The pool is great. It's well maintained and large, and rarely overcrowded. OV attracts a crowd of grad students and young professionals, so there aren't as many kids infesting the pool compared to other complexes around town that tend to draw more families. The laundry facilities are in the basements. There are relatively few machines serving a large number of tenants, but there is a laundromat next to the leasing office that offers plenty of machines when the OV facilities are occupied. OV has direct access to the Olentangy Bike Trail, which is quite nice. There is also a stone terrace that overlooks a ravine, a community room with a kitchen, and a park on the river with built in tables and charcoal grills. The Service: my interaction with the OV staff has been quite positive. The maintenance workers are quick to respond, and 24/7 emergency maintenance is available, as is 24/7 lockout service. The workers in the leasing office have also been helpful when I have needed their assistance. The Location: in my mind, this is OV's greatest asset. It's located in South Clintonville right on High St. Within walking distance are restaurants (Aladdin's, Mama Mimi's, Giorgio's, Denice's Ice Cream, Sage Bistro, Mozart's, Hounddog's Pizza, Cup O Joe and Pattycake Bakery), bars (Brewstirs, O'Reilly's, Patrick J's, Ravari Room), stores (Giant Eagle, Clintonville Outfitters, Bike Source, several Asian markets, several barber shops/salons, and lots of smaller specialty stores), and other amenities (post office, florist, gas stations, vets, optometrists, etc.). In short, you can walk to TONS of places in a few minutes or less. Being right on High St., Worthington, OSU Campus, the Short North, Downtown and German Village are a short bus ride, 5-10 minute drive, or 30 min. - hour walk away. You're right in the middle of everything, but set back a bit off of High St. amidst some green space and backing up to the Olentangy River, meaning it feels less like living in the hustle/bustle of High St., and more like living within a small neighborhood. The Neighbors: young professionals, grad students and older folks. I can't imagine an apartment complex in Columbus has a better collection of neighbors. The Price: The Village runs from $590-790. The River/Ravine run from $719-1,419. Overall, very reasonable prices for the amenities and the area. NOTE: you must have an income of $35,000+ to rent here, or you must have a consignor who meets this requirement. You must also obtain resident liability insurance. Overall: I love living at Olentangy Village. The price is right, the apartment is nice, the location is PRIME, the service is great, and the pool is lovely! There's a unit/price for any taste, and the leasing office employees are great at finding one right for you. read more

Jay D. actually provides some correct and helpful info. Then, how could be I ended up with 3 stars, not 5? I lived in a studio located at the top floor of OV's leasing office (neither Classic nor Ravine) . The apartments are recently renovated, stainless steel appliances, central heating and air-conditioning. A fitness facility & leasing office are right down below -very convenient. I also had no problem with getting a help/fix when something went wrong - although there are some disagreement across yelp reviews my experiences with maintenance people were all good. Finally great location; nice little cute shops and local restaurants, two Asian grocery shops, a local organic grocery shop, and a Giant Eagle store are all around. 10 min bus ride to OSU and 20 min bus ride to downtown once I just hopped out of my front door. So why 3 stars??? I never had have or heard of so many hiccups regarding property management. First, I originally reserved (signed the form and sent a deposit check) a Classic 1-bedroom apartment, which OV staff verbally assured that there WAS at the moment an opening for that option. I mean otherwise I would not send my deposit check. After some months passed, she suggested totally different units, and one of which was this studio I have lived for a year. When I called at the office, and talked into this issue, the leasing office staff (another person than I originally talked with) said I am being "not flexible" and if I do not want the studio they can return my deposit, and I can go searching for another apartment (I'm omitting in which tone he conveyed this message during this phone call because I acknowledge that I might be very subjective and biased). I should have done it probably. But, I was in Chicago at the moment working on my dissertation. Also, I thought this unpleasant interaction with property management must be just one time thing. So, I took it. Yes, it might have been one time thing. But, again when I moved out they took over a month to return my deposit checks, which originally had to be returned in 2 weeks. None of them said sorry or showed any hint of apology at every incident. The apartment itself had no problem other than paper-thin walls through which you can hear pretty much everything (even neighbors' phone vibrating), but if someone says it is a part of apartment living I will just say yeah whatever... I am now so happy that I moved out, and had my deposit back, so there will be no more talking through them. Maybe I was a push-over, and maybe you're headstrong. Or you may never have any bad experiences at all because I think these kind of hiccups are (and should be) actually rare. So, I totally get there could be someone like Jay D, who had all good experiences (I GET IT). But, there could be unlucky others including me who are upset enough to leave such unnecessarily lengthy reviews like this. A long story short: Good clean new apartment, good neighbors (very respectful), good maintenance, and good location. But, watch out once you have to make things working with leasing office staff. This apartment complex, nestled along the Olentangy River just inside Clintonville's southern border, has some rich history. Originally built in the 1800s, it's acted as an amusement park, barracks, and if I recall, a boarding school of some kind. Sometime in the more recent past, the buildings were converted into studios, 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments. I've had friends who lived here, my boy from Boston, Spencer, chief among them, and I've looked into renting here on two occasions. I gotta say, I'm not that impressed. It gets good marks for not overly rehabbing the units. The hardwood is original in most of them. But the prices just aren't what they should be for such old spaces. You can rent an equally sized place not in a community for much less, even in Clintonville. It has it's perks, like a pool I spent a lot of time in for a few summers. Some of the newer buildings that have been added feature very nice amenities and kitchens, and the units are all electric, which is nice. They do allow pets, but I think there is an extra fee. There would be some good views from some of the balconies if it weren't for the trash littering the riverside. They also don't provide recycling. Can you believe it?? Overall impression is that it's just so-so, which isn't reflected in the price, but should be. read more

I have lived in the Village (River) apartments for 3 months now. Pros: Location, old character/charm, walkability, access to highways. Cons: Modern amenities (such as washer/dryer in unit, HVAC), size of kitchen/bathroom, thin walls. Their maintenance people are responsive, but some things are just plain wrong with this building. I've had to call maintenance three times about the door being jammed shut when we go to open it in the morning. They're lucky there hasn't been a fire in the building, or we could very well be trapped with no way out but the window. Not to mention, the door handles are ancient and we had to call maintenance because the screws came loose and the bolt wouldn't turn. There is a point where something becomes so outdated it isn't functional anymore, and these doors reached that point in the 70s. Speaking of non-functional, shall I sing thee an ode of bad windows? Ours are frequently stuck, especially in the bathroom. This is doubly unfortunate due to the fact that they're not vented, which can cause mold to grow. To make matters worse, we have to keep the bathroom doors shut after we shower, as the steam will set off the fire alarm. The windows are also not sealed properly, as water gets in and causes mold to grow on the windows. Squeaky floors are par for the course, so is the main door with keypad entry which never closes properly (so much for security). The plumbing is outdated and inconvenient, as well. Even so, it is not the worst place I have lived in and I haven't had any issues with the staff. So, not bad. read more

I lived in The River for one year and I can say that it was NOT worth it. It was small, constantly smelled like Indian food, and was SO expensive. For a college student I was shocked that a one-bedroom apartment was nearly $900. All-in-all, I think you can find a comparable place in the area for a way better price, and if I could go back in time I would have searched a little harder and found a cheaper place [which I eventually did.] There were good things about this place, it was quiet, and it was very safe. But I feel like for $900 you deserve more than that. The apartment itself was nothing special. Small and oddly shaped so nothing seemed to fit correctly. They had a fee to have a cat and the appliances were not updated. If you're a hipster and want to be unique and have a "charming" place, I guess one of their properties; "the village" suffices for that. It is also pretty expensive. We toured this area and they were SMALL, all wooden floors and a kitchen that looked ancient. It definitely seemed like a place where a hipster would feel at home. NOT for me. Anyway, I'd say skip it. Do you research and you can find a nicer place that will be better on your wallet. read more

The maintenance usually came within 48 hours after request, and the location is very good for OSU students/employees. Although some staffs in management office were really impatient, it doesn't matter much when you're a resident (you only need to talk to them probably once per year). Pros: Quick maintain. Not worth the money you pay for the location. They have gotten away with never actually updating any part of the apartments outside of painting things a new color (I.e. Painting old cabinets white). I lived in the river/ravine buildings and was initially pleased, but quickly came to despise the apartment. Had very large water bugs the entire year I lived there, even with their constant treatments. For our security deposit, they took our money for things we had no part in nor knew was wrong. When I moved into the apartment it was dirty and there were bugs. I cleaned very well before leaving and was still charged. My mail box has been broken since a half year ago. People's mails got stolen every day. My bikes were stolen in the basement where it has two doors with passcode. I called the leasing office and their were like "oh sorry I'm the new person here, our manager is not in and I don't know what happened." People enters your apartment without giving you notifications for non-emergencies because they simply forgot. But if it doesn't work with your schedule, sorry you have to pay for that. I have been living here for more than 2 years, I have to say it was good at the beginning. I don't know what happens with their new team, but I'm moving out right now. My wife and I moved into the Ravine at Olentangy Village a couple of months ago, and we love it! The location is spot on. There is plenty of stuff going on around (bars, restaurants, etc.) but there isn't the hectic and stressful atmosphere of downtown. We are within about 20 minutes to everywhere around Columbus including the suburbs like Grove City or Westerville. The staff here is great, and the maintenance crew is timely and effective. After having been at OV for almost a year (Will be on 3/28/15), and since my previous review had gained a bit of attention, its probably time for me to do an updated review of my stay here. First, let me touch on the issues that came about with my first review. After I posted it, I was contacted by the general manager of OV rather quickly. In detail, they explained the process of the sublease signage and how it exactly works. Basically, if you do not agree (in writing to be safe) with the previous tenant towards who will and won't clean, fix things, etc., its pretty much your responsibility, not the property. There was a bit of miscommunication between myself and the previous tenant, along with a ton of assumptions on our part. However, even with that cleared up, the maintenance staff at OV sent me a huge tub of paint for me to paint my walls to my liking, and they fixed any issues or problems I had the with apartment within 48 hours. The issue with the parking passes was also resolved the next day, as well as my paperwork. I moved in the end of winter/start of spring in 2014. I will state that the grounds and the areas around the complex are gorgeous between spring-early fall. Considering that its by the river, its very scenic. I'm also a cyclist, so when I found out that there was an entrance to the bike trail not even half a mile from my building, I was ecstatic. The location is convenient, but that's a fact. Being directly north of campus makes it a prime spot for students. With a ton of food places and shops within walking/biking distance, OV makes it very easy to get around without needing a car most of the time. The bus line is also a few feet from the main office and takes you straight downtown and pretty far north to Morse, depending on the line. As for the apartment itself, it is rather old, but that's what gives it charm. If you're one for modern appliances, then don't move to the Village. Maybe try for one of the townhouses/condos or 2-bedroom apartments. But for the apartments in the Village area, you better be alright with a small range, decent sized fridge, 1-basin sink, no central A/C (window only) and radiator heating. There is shared laundry in the buildings and a laundry mat on High St, but I just do my laundry off-site at a friend's. Lucky for me, I live in an apartment that is pretty sheltered from the summer sun most of the day due to the trees, and the radiator heating worked great during this crappy winter. The wood flooring is actually pretty nice and solid. However, I will state that the walls are a thin. I've been lucky enough to have benevolent neighbors, but at times I will hear people playing their instruments, laughter from my upstair's neighbor, noise from a TV, and the main entrance door being slammed shut. But, most of that stuff stops around 10pm and doesn't start up again until 7-8am. As for the size, its pretty reasonable for a person living alone. The kitchen and bathroom and small and are in shot-gun style. But the living room and bedroom are quite big. I can easily fit a queen bed, dresser, chest and end tables into the bedroom and still have plenty of space. My living room has space for an IKEA dining table and chairs, wine display, wall-mounted desk, TV and stand, a bike, couch, lamps, end tables, coffee table, filing cabinet and bookcases. The foyer is also quite spacey and you can do a lot with it. I will state that while the walls are thin with sound, they are made of a thick material that makes it almost impossible to drill/hammer anything into them. Parking is atrocious, honestly. During the school year, if you are not home by 6pm during the week, good luck finding a decent parking spot near your building. You'll be lucky enough to find a spot on your street. Heck, if all else fails, you'll be able to park near the office on High St. This is only in the Village. I am not aware of the parking situation in any of the other areas. Maintenance is prompt and quick with requests. They also take good care of the ground during the winter when it comes to ice and snow (although, I did take quite a tumble on some ice earlier this week, but it was cleared up). They also keep the entry ways and stairs quite clean every week. As for bugs, expect to see your typical spiders during warm months, as there are plenty of trees and such around, and you aren't horribly far from the river either. Just have some bug spray handy. There is also a gym free to residents at the office that opens pretty early (I think its 5am) and closes at 11pm. They have pretty much everything to workout with that any basic gym would have and a pool that has coded entry in the summer. In regards to the staff at the office, my experience with them as been pristine since our first encounter and easy to deal with in regards to special circumstances. All in all, OV is ok for the location, but varies for what you want in a place towards price. read more

Pros: location, location, location! Everything about the location is perfect, especially if you study or work at OSU. You have N. High on one side and everything you need to buy, eat or do within easy walking or biking distance, and the river on the other side, for beautiful scenery (when there isn't too much litter; after a rainfall it IS a city, after all). The grounds are one-of-a-kind and amazingly beautiful. More pros: QUIET, if you are a quiet professional or a grad student and you want to live somewhere serene and not get bothered by OSU dude-bros partying into the night, this is the place for you. Another pro: the maintenance staff is prompt and thorough, usually coming to fix whatever you need while you're at work the same day you ask for it. Pros for some, cons for others: the apartments in the Village are prewar--they are vintage in every sense of the word, from their steam heat radiators to their original parquet flooring to their worn steel counter- and amenity-less galley kitchens. I personally love the vintage character, but those more used to modern McApartments and their dishwashers and central AC won't like it. Semi-Con: This is not really a problem unless you're forgetful or combative, but the management runs a TIGHT SHIP. Don't be late on any payments, including utilities and rental insurance, know whether you're going to renew your lease or not and don't back out once you do, and follow the (very reasonable) rules. There are a LOT of residents here and they can't afford to be making concessions or the whole place would dissolve into chaos. That said, one might consider the management to be a bit uptight if one thought in those terms. All in all, I'd say Olentangy Village is one of the nicest apartment complexes--if not the actual nicest--I've ever lived in. read more

BEWARE...BED BUGS! This facility has terrible maintenance and customer service. The staff is non-responsive to phone calls and requests. And now bed bugs are in at least one building yet the staff has not returned any phone calls. OV also has some serious security issues with the facility. The area is not the safest and their failure to spend a little more money on their facility and surrounding area is showing. Have lived there for 2 years, every year the rent increases by $35/month. Management office unwilling to help, they are bureaucrats and give you attitude when you have a problem. They just send you away. Maintenance never picks up the phone, when I leave a msg and my #, they don't get back nor do they fix the problem. Laundry onsite but in another building. Unsafe, car was vandalized at night. Walls are thin even though they look thick, which I found to be very surprising. I could hear both upstairs and next door from BR. This apartment complex is great! My girlfriend has had a lease here since the beginning of August 2014. The things that make this place so great are in regards to situations you end up running into with places that you live at. First off, ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING that has been a complaint to maintenance from Kerri, has been handled swiftly, and when there was no textbook fix to an issue, the maintenance department came up with "out of the box" solutions. Example...We had a humidity problem in our apartment because the heating system is a nostalgic boiler based system. 2 of our walls would consistently have condensation because we are on the corner of the building and the winter wind hits them. The Maintenance came in and installed an in ceiling automatic dehumidifier. Second, the admin are nice. They talk to you nicely, they deal with you directly and they understand the things they regurgitate. If they don't they get you to the right people. Third, There is recycling on grounds. Fourth, there are clothes washing and drying machines closely located to wherever you live on the grounds. All of these things matter when you have a contract with someone. I personally just broke a lease with another place because they didn't handle anything at all and it was like pulling teeth to get to the decision making person. That is NOT the case here. They seem to WANT to make the customer happy, within reason. I am thoroughly satisfied with this complex. The only thing that would make it better is if they figured out a way to change the policy on pets. But that is only a concern of mine because we want a dog here. It's not a concern for most people or students. One more thing, The people who live here seem to be good respectable people. There's never been a concern with dodgy people lurking around and making you feel unsafe. And if so, the complex provides access to a phone number that you can call and a security guard will escort you to your place when its dark outside just for you ease of mind....SO GOOD! read more

I have lived, quite happily, in OV for 2.5 years. Many aspects of apartment life there is great. The maintenance is close to on top of things, it's nice to have a centrally located, modern apartment with access to a gym and swimming pool, etc. The apartment itself is great. However, they seem to be under new management and all of a sudden the leasing office is staffed only with idiots who have idiot rules to follow. I am not the only tenant with a lease renewal issue. Mine is not as bad as my neighbor's, but here's my story. We're not sure how much longer we'll be living in Columbus, and so decided we would wait to decide on renewing our lease that runs through Aug 31. We received two notices in March/April letting us know about how much money we could save if we renewed right away, but since we weren't sure yet we figured we would wait. We received a third notice May 7 telling us that if we don't renew by May 15 (for our lease ending Aug 31) our apartment would be put on the market. Still, we're not sure if we'll be here for the entire next year, so we thought we could go month-to-month (you know, the option most landlords have for good tenants who have lived in the same apartment for at least a year). Nope. Apparently they don't do that. Our option is to renew for a year (actually, for 50 weeks since apparently leases don't end on Aug 31 anymore, but on Aug 20 - so hope you have your next home lined up for Aug 20 and not Sept 1). If we need to leave before the 50 weeks are up, we cannot break the lease, but will be given the option of subletting our apartment to another tenant. This is the first time I have ever been told that if I find a tenant to fill my apartment they cannot sign their own lease, they must sublet from me. So OV is a great place to live, as long as you know, with certainty, that either you will stay on for another year once your lease is up or that you will be ready to vacate 50 weeks after your new lease date - and that you have this certainty long before your lease is scheduled to end. read more

An honest review of OV. -- I live in the main village part, have for a few years now. And, like most places there's ups and downs. My experience: + LOCATION: It cannot be beat. I adore Clintonville and you can walk to multiple grocery stores, asian markets, thrift shops, antique stores, bars, restaurants and coffee shops. The reason I have stayed here is 100% because of the location. Also, the river and grounds are beautiful and super well maintained. - /+ MAINTENANCE: So overall I have had a pretty good experience with maintenance coming in a timely manner, they normally get here within 24-48 hours, and when there's been a major issue they have arrived faster. On the other hand, some of their fixes have been shitty and have caused bigger problems that then have to be repaired again. I have friends also who have said it took them multiple tries on various occasions to get maintenance to even come address a problem. Also, when maintenance is doing repairs in the common areas of the building they are pretty disrespectful --- smoke inside and play super loud music. They have also made a mess in my apartment when fixing things and not even tried to clean it up -- really frustrating. - SAFETY/SECURITY: Unfortunately, that is a downside here. Its not the most dangerous place to live in Columbus (or even close) but there are issues and OV doesn't do a whole lot to help. There have been multiple break-ins during the time I have lived here (both via windows and doors) and a lot of car windows smashed. Two different friends who lived here had cars broken in to during their time here. The basement areas with storage are also not very secure and there's always notes about people's bikes being stolen. Beyond that there have also been physical and sexual assaults on people here (one person who I personally know and another person of a close friend -- and several other I heard about through the grapevine but cannot vouch for on a personal level). OV says there is security but in over two years here I've seen them ONCE and most people I've talked to have never seen them. Also, the outside doors to the buildings are basically unsecured and OV office is basically unconcerned about it. There's also a lack of lighting in the complex -- something that seems like it would be super easy to address. -/+ PRICE: So you're paying for location. And if you accept that the price isn't bad at all. Overall, you get a decent amount of room for what you're paying. On the other hand, the bundle package that charges you for stupid stuff (like pest control and common electric) as well as water and gas is mandatory and adds a bit onto your bill since you still have to pay electric, cable and internet yourself. Also, while you get space the quality of the apartments is fairly crappy, and there's virtually no storage (you have to get really creative). - AMENITIES: Not much in the way of amenities. There's washer/dryer units in the basements of some of the buildings, overall they work pretty well but there's only a few per room so they are often full and sometimes 1-2 machines are broken for weeks at a time. the sink in the apartments is ridiculously small, gets clogged ALL the time and is really hard to clean. - PARKING: if you leave near High Street parking is a nightmare and OV management doesn't do much to help. One of the things you pay for is a pass, but there's constantly tons of cars with no pass and OV gives out tickets maybe 1-2 times per year. Its super easy to find parking during the day, but once 5pm hits and everyone comes home from work/etc... it becomes impossible, and when it snows and rains forget it. OVERALL: the apartments are quite cute, have character, provide a decent amount of room and the location is super great. Management is hot/cold -- their interest is in profit and so if you catch them on the right day and phrase your request correctly you may receive help, likewise they can be competitive and manipulative as well. Safety is an issue, its not horrible but its definitely something to consider. Price is good for location but not great for actual units. Maintenance is decent (honestly not much different than any other large complex I've lived in). Overall, thinking about OV in comparison to other apartments I've lived in I would give it a 2.5/5. read more
