In a culture where the word "wedding" automatically doubles or triples the price of everything, it was a welcome relief to find out that I was going to come in under budget on the gown alterations. ***NOTE: I realize that not all bridal gowns are the same, and not all kinds of alterations are priced equally, but I needed a hem job on 15 layers of material and the waist taken in on a very (VERY) fitted gown with a complicated bodice. But whatever. Just giving you a reference point.*** Nancy (it really is Nancy there when you walk in the door) is great. She fitted me, did a refit before any cuts were made, and made sure that the final alterations were as they were supposed to be, all the while being friendly and kind to me and my very special dress. The store isn't large, but there are a selection of formal, semiformal, and bridal gowns through which to browse. The best thing about Nancy was that she didn't put on any airs or make me feel unwelcome in any way, as some bridal boutique owners are apt to do. (If this has ever happened to you, you KNOW what I mean.) Oh yeah. Thanks to Nancy, the dress fit perfectly.

That person said "WE ARE CLOSED" I used caps because she was quite indignant with a snotty attitude. I said through the glass door "Oh you just startled me, I was not expecting anyone to be in there." "Your shop is beautiful." To which she replies "doing paperwork, we are closed." NO Kidding. There were no lights on, and the closed sign told me so. I can tell you, though, with that attitude, I would never recommend anyone come into your store. This is truly my favorite seamstress shop ever. Maria and her team are AMAZING! I brought my…read morewedding dress in and it was probably 2-4 sizes too big. She essentially cut the dress in half and remade a whole new dress. She added thicker straps, hemmed the bottom beautifully, removed a layer of unnecessary fabric, added breast pads, and gave me a beautiful shape by fixing the whole top half. The process was easy and fun. I will 10000% be coming back for future projects!
