We love Olive Branch so much! Here at least once a week. The baristas are so kind and friendly. The music and decor are so nice. Love all the drinks, food and desserts I've gotten to try here. The cinnamon bun with chocolate and pistachio was soooo good! Basil Grilled cheese had such a satisfying cheese pull and was delicious. Strawberry matcha was phenomenal. My husband loved the kunafa. I could literally have their strawberry cups ever day - they're the best out there.

Pistachio Croissant. This was just ok

My bestie is moving away so we went for a coffee date here yesterday . They had only been opened for 17 minutes, but there was already a lineup to order and every seat inside was occupied. The line moved fairly quick and we were able to get a table. This place is beautiful inside. They have made all the aesthetics Instagram worthy. The food and drinks are definitely worth the hype. We had the Iced Strawberry Matcha Iced Pistachio Latte Pistachio Croissant Kunafa Viral Dubai Chocolate Strawberry Cups The iced strawberry matcha was magical. My friend isn't huge on matcha but she loved it so much, we ended up trading drinks. The pistachio Latte was flavorful and just enough kick. This was my very first time having Kunafa. The cheese pull was epic. The star of the show was definitely the viral Dubai chocolate strawberry cup. It was the perfect combination of melted chocolate, that pistachio cream and the sweetness from the strawberries. We were both drooling. I'll definitely recommend this spot, and I'll be back to try some of their other goodies

Olive Brach cafe is aesthetically pleasing. Te service was quick when I went and the cashier was pleasant. I had a matcha and strawberry cup, so I didn't try their food menu. I would definitely return when it's not bustling and busy to work or read.

Shawarma Spot - Chicken and Donair over rice

If you are thinking about coming here, just do it! We have been here three times in the past two…read moreweeks and have already recommended this place to our friends and family. We grabbed this place upon seeing a picture of their garlic potatoes. Didn't order it on the first visit but also didn't need to because their portions are more than adequate. I'm usually a red meat person and my partner adores chicken. However, Shawarma Spot made us question our choices. I got the Donair and chicken mix over rice and my partner got the chicken over fries. The pieces of chicken are large, not typical shreds of chicken and the portion of meat was very generous. It's white meat and super juicy. The pieces of Donair were charred to perfection and the portion was also very generous. Their meats are marinated for 18 hours! After our first meal, my partner was hooked on the Donair and I continued to order the mix. We had to add the garlic potatoes though! Our most recent trip to this establishment was with family. We ordered the meal that served 4-5 and received two party trays worth of food. One tray included the rice, potatoes, fries, and topped with Donair and the other tray included salad with the garlic sauce and hummus. Had to get a small side of chicken so the family could try it. We recommend getting the harissa, really flavourful and has a kick to it. We were only able to finish half the food but had to save room for dessert. They offer roll ice cream by the other wall and the texture was on point. We love that the toppings are customizable and also their minis were large enough to share. Can't wait for our next trip here!

The shawarma was made fresh and the ingredients tasted fresh. Really the shawarma lacked any flavour or jazz to it. I've had better tasting ones for cheaper.

Barg Wrap (Steak) Shawarma Plate…read more We stopped in today and ordered take out for lunch, after a friend had recommended this place to us. We spoke with the hostess and she was an absolute sweetheart. We did not know they have been around since 2008! However, there is new ownership this last year. I must say there's a reason people are recommending the food. There is free parking in behind the restaurant. The interior is cozy and has tables for dining in. We opted for a wrap and a plate; splitting both. The plate was loaded with rice, garlic sauce, hummus and lots of chicken shawarma. Topped with another sauce, this was the perfect combo. The meat was juicy and flavorful. There were multiple dressings to choose from for the salad. The Barg wrap was a steak wrap and my hubby commented on how tender the meat was. The wrap was an ok size and was a nice mix of veggies. All in all we had a solid experience and will definitely be back to try more of their menu.

My friend -- a Christian, not even Jewish -- was meeting with a pastor for coffee. He was wearing an IDF jacket and a Star of David necklace while discussing a recent trip to Israel. No shouting. No confrontation. No disruption. Just coffee and conversation. An employee called Durham Regional Police. Officers showed up and told him his conversation was "offensive." When asked what was said that violated policy, no one could answer. No rule cited. No clear complaint identified. Just vague discomfort -- and removal. So what exactly triggered this escalation? Not behavior. Not threats. Not harassment. Symbols. And Israel. Calling the police on someone because others don't like what he's wearing or the country he's discussing is cowardly and discriminatory. Businesses don't get to selectively silence viewpoints they don't agree with. And weaponizing law enforcement to remove someone over perceived "offense" is an outrageous abuse of discretion. If Cork & Bean believes visible support for Israel warrants police involvement, they should say that publicly. If they don't, then they owe an immediate explanation and apology. Until management addresses this directly and transparently, this establishment does not deserve community support. Do better.

We decided to find a cafe and casually open our presents there. We both yanked out Google Maps on our phones. She had mentioned that she had been to a Cork & Bean in Peterborough and and liked it. I trusted her judgment and said yes. I indicated that we needed to go up and hang a left. She felt that it was the other way around -- down and hang a right. When it comes to directions, she has the better track record since we've known each other. However, she realized that she had read the map wrong and I was correct. It felt like a small triumph, but I'm not the type to rub it in. I'm not horrible at directions. She is better at it. We walked over to this cafe. It may have taken three minutes. We had to wait for the light to change, so we could have done it in two minutes. This cafe had all the windows and doors wide open. We walked in and found a table to plop our stuff down. We then headed over to the counter to check out what we'd like to drink. My friend ordered an iced coffee with oat beverage. We both liked that there were dairy alternatives. She's vegan. I'd prefer to go lactose-free. I saw a sign that said that there were seasonal flavours. I asked the helpful man at the counter if it applied to iced coffee. Yes, it did. He could make any drink seasonal. Nice! I got a large iced peppermint latte with oat beverage. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and tipped. All was great. My friend got her drink first. Moments later, mine was ready. I thanked the man and headed back to our table to join my friend. There was live music at this cafe. We were here on a Saturday evening. Jordins ID (no apostrophe to indicate possession, which seemed odd) was playing. She was great. It was nice to have her in the background as we chatted. My drink was awesome. It was cold. I liked the peppermint with the coffee. It worked out nicely. A customer had brought his dog in. This cafe is obviously pet-friendly. It was nice seeing other customers ask if they could pet the dog. The owner was nice and said yes. The dog seemed to enjoy the affection and attention. We had a nice time chatting a bunch more and opening our presents. It was the perfect place for what we wanted to do. The menu also has beer, cocktails, and more. I saw a bunch of desserts in the display case. Since we had already had dessert with our dinner, we skipped getting any food. This cafe is in downtown Oshawa. It's free street parking on weekends. I enjoyed hanging out at this cafe. It's a nice place to grab a drink and chat, while taking in some local, live music. It was perfect. (341)
