One of those places when you need to work on your swing and some pizza this is that spot!! We have been coming here on and off for 10 years, and I am never surprised at how many players across the district live here!!! If you go after the hourly ticket deal for $175. You can get 2.5 hours of pire swing time in 15 minutes incriminate. Food deals are priced affordable so you can enjoy food while watching your kiddos put in the work!! So what are you waiting for.....

Shocking that pizza so good can be found hidden off the street behind some batting cages . We as two New Yorkers walked in with low expectations. No way this joint can be serving up real NY style pizza . We were happily surprised. We hear the original owner was an Italian from NYC and that they still use his recipe. They even make the dough in house. This place will be added to my list of best NY style places in LA and certainly one of the few good places in Burbank.

We were in area looking for a batting cage and could not have been better. The lady was so friendly and accommodating. There were people coming and going for pizza. We went ahead to order some and it's really delicious. Plus a pretty decent size for only one size and they have a specials too. If in area will come here again more time to play in arcade area and sit down.

We finally experienced the free Shakespeare performances in Griffith Park, and it was so much more…read morethan just a play--it was a whole summer evening experience. People arrive early with blankets, picnic baskets, snacks, and drinks, creating such a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere before the show even begins. A few tips from our experience: There is a large free parking lot, and it's well organized with bright signs leading you all the way to the performance area. Even though it was our first visit, finding the venue wasn't difficult--it just felt like a fun little adventure! Even on a Wednesday, the crowd was surprisingly large, so arriving early is definitely worth it. (Independent Shakespeare Co.) Bring a blanket, but don't forget a small cushion! The performance lasts over two hours, and sitting on the ground can get uncomfortable. If you're bringing folding chairs, please sit toward the back so everyone can enjoy the view. There is a 20-minute intermission, giving you plenty of time to stretch your legs, grab a snack, or refill your tea. It gets much cooler after sunset, so bring a light jacket or something warm to throw over your shoulders. A thermos of hot tea is a great idea too. Feel free to bring food and drinks, but be prepared to share your picnic with a few curious bees and other insects. There is a portable restroom on-site, and if it's locked, the access code is 3343. The production quality really impressed us. Professional lighting, excellent sound, microphones--it honestly felt like watching a performance in a real theater, just under the stars. Video recording isn't allowed during the performance, so you can simply relax and enjoy the moment. The host also shared some exciting news--they're building a brand-new stage nearby, and there's a good chance next season's performances will take place there. We'll definitely be back in August for The Comedy of Errors. If you're looking for one of the most unique free summer experiences in Los Angeles, this is one I highly recommend.

It's close to home and offers a lot of activities to do. It has children's playground equipment, 2 basketball courts, 4 BIG, tennis courts, a dirt track, clean bathrooms, picnic area, nice spacious landscape and the most important, it's kept nice and clean. This park is one of my favorite parks in Studio City. They have recreation areas and can let you sign up for sports/classes that interests you. Recently, I had taken few classes with couple of their teachers/coaches and they are WONDERFUL! Earlier this morning I went to play tennis with one of my friends. Tennis is one of my favorite sports to watch and to play. We don't keep score. We just like to play and have fun. You can walk, jug, people walk their dogs, kids, they have picnic areas and do a lot of kids birthday parties.. or you can just simply sit in silence and enjoy nature, the sunlight and have a good, peaceful time. Private lot parking, or street nearby parking. They are closed on Sundays. Kind of weird, but it's their rules, not mine. That's when people usually spend time with their families. I am not going to dock a star for that since it meets all the other amenities & requirements.

You can imagine that every kid picked gatorade and was over-sugared and dehydrated. I asked for pitchers of water. The arcade is a room with about 10 games - only half of which work + all of which are filthy. They are very expensive. Our races started almost 30 minutes late. A full Two hour guided tour riding around the back lot on a 15 passenger electric cart. Super knowledgeable driver / tour guide (Zack) talks you through the various backlot sets and sound stages with video presentations on the monitors mounted in the cart. There are several stops where you can get off to experience and hear details about shows and movies that used these specific sets. Very interesting seeing the building facades and landscaped grounds and the history of the studio. Our tour included a snack / continental breakfast and a lunch at the Friends Central Perk cafe restaurant. Both offered a decent selection of food and drink items. In the morning they served juices, coffee, tea, water, chips, cookies, danish to munch on before the tour started. Caveat is you only have 15 minutes to relax and enjoy before leaving for the tour. Lunch break happened at the end of our two hour guided tour. The tour package lunch included a hot or cold entree, side dish and drink. We were surprised at the selection and quality of the food. Various hot and cold sandwiches, salads, chips and a full selection of hot or cold, large or small coffee drinks. Even some blended coffee drinks. We ordered the hot Cuban sandwich, Cobb salad and a large iced coffee latte drink. The Cuban was hot but a little bit soggy but still tasty. Cobb salad super fresh and healthy. Coffee drink was solid with creamy topping. After lunch you begin the self guided portion of the tour which is inside stage 48? Where the restaurant was located. Film technology and costumes on display with various interactive display to participate. Harry Potter, Batman, Superman and other blockbuster movies artwork, costumes and videos on display. So much to discover. Easily spent 2 hours in there. Surprisingly they told us we also had entry into the Superman Experience. We did not know this was part of the tour. It is not mentioned in the marketing online. Unfortunately we ran out of time and had to skip this. Too bad as I think it is super popular. We upgraded to the TCM tour, which adds time and locations to the standard tour. But at check in, they also offered the Superman Experience for FREE (normally a $40 add-on). Not sure if this is a normal offer or a special occasion, so your experience may differ. Our tour guide, FREDDY, was a wealth of knowledge about the studio, the history, and every movie & TV show imagineable. He brought great energy, humor, and friendliness to the tour. We highly recommend asking for Freddy as your guide if possible. The tour itself was fascinating and fun. There is so much history on the Warner Bros lot. Central Perk cafe was a nostalgic dream come true. Good food at a reasonable price and so much Friends merch. There's an interactive walk-through gallery attached that shows so much history, lets you work a bit on post-production of film scenes, and photo ops with the Friends set and Big Bang Theory. The Superman Experience was incredible! Top Shelf all the way. It's an immersive event- part 3D video game you walk through, and part interactive exploration of the Fortress of Solitude. The area has a really cool bar that serves fun drinks and snacks. Finally we ended up at the self-guided DC Comics/Harry Potter museum where costumes and vehicles were on display. And they added in some cool interactive things to do as well. There's even a Sorting Hat that will tell you which House you belong in. But I protest the hat choosing Slytherin for me. That's BS. LOL We left feeling amazed. Start to finish, the Warner Bros Studio Tour is one of the best experiences in LA. We're local so we've done pretty much all the cool stuff around, and this makes the top 5 for sure. We will be back in October for the Haunted Studio Tour!! Can't wait.

OVERALL Joaquin Miller Park was a chill find and was happy to know of another place to casually hang out in the great outdoors with myself, others, or a pet. Because this park is tied to the elementary school next door, I felt the dynamic and usable hours may change when school is back in session such as the park possibly being used for recess or lunch time. Regardless, this was a simple place that the entire neighborhood should be proud and take care of. Sure, it was missing some standard park elements (no tennis courts, too), but it definitely was a nice place to find some shade underneath a tree, relax, and maybe read a book. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $0.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, there was no need for acceptance of my credit card of choice or any funds for that matter... AMEX! 4.0 STARS

While looking at Google Maps, I saw that there's another Frank Lloyd Wright building they're working on called Residence A, but as of right now I don't think it's open to the public yet. Since looking at the outside of the Hollyhock House and the sweeping views is relatively quick, you can kill more time looking at the art buildings also on the property. I came when the art gallery was closed, but if you go to the Barnsdall Junior Arts Center, you can see murals and sculptures outside. And I don't know if the stone carvings are original or just recreated to match the Frank Lloyd Wright house, but I saw near the restrooms of the Arts Center stone carvings that you can actually get up close to. I looked up who Barnsdall was and she was an oil baron heiress who hired Frank Lloyd Wright to build the house and then she donated it and the land to the city to be an arts center. She also dedicated it to her father. As for parking, there's 3 areas: The bottom level where you'll have to take the stairs to get up to the main area, but if you drive up further onto Upper Road (turn right at the fork) you can park right up front where the views are, or you can turn left at the fork onto Lower Road and try to find parking by the Arts Center, but there will be signs saying certain areas are reserved for students and staff. I came when classes weren't in session, so I was ok, but even then I still tried to keep my distance from those reserved signs just in case, especially since there's security prowling the grounds. If you're a tourist, I can see the appeal of this place since you can check off a bunch of sites in one go. I live in L.A. and even though I've been here already a few times, at the very least the views don't fail to impress.
