It's probably not often that people are sad to move on from apartment life. It's a very bittersweet moment personally as the Lynx has been my home for several years. From its resort style front pool, the lazy hammocks perfect for a Sunday afternoon book to its larger than life dog park- this place will be missed. Especially by the dogs. Email communication often felt passive aggressive and any time I asked a simple question, I got long policy explanations instead of a real answer. I had to follow up several times just to try to renew my lease and kept getting the runaround. I eventually moved because paying rent on time should not come with that much hassle or uncertainty. I rarely needed maintenance since I handled most things myself. Getting my security deposit back took far too long and every time I asked about it, I got more excuses. They charged a 250 application fee, a 25 per person monthly service fee on top of rent, and even offered a 95 option to fast track the return of my own security deposit. On top of that, they offered to charge 495 for move out cleaning. No thanks I can do that myself. I've never ever not gotten back a security deposit. I'm not that person. Everything felt transactional and unnecessary, which honestly pushed me toward leaving. Right before my lease ended, I sent notice that I was moving. Even then, I got what felt like an automated message telling me my renters insurance needed to be confirmed for the next year. I replied saying I was moving out in a few days and still had insurance, and the response I got back basically told me to send proof or be charged 10 dollars. I am not letting anyone nickel and dime me over things like that. 10 dollars. Please quit the shit. Owners may have a smoother experience, but tenants deal with a very different side of things. Best of luck if you decide to rent from them. I will not be using them again. As a property owner and a renter, this definitely isn't the way people should be treated ever. I only have 2 stars because after 30 plus days I got my deposit back. Minus a f*+^€n 5.00 e-check fee. Yall needed that I guess.

Eventually, the gap between the rent and the actual market value became too large, so we moved out. Then came the move-out charges. They attempted to bill us for items that were clearly the landlord's responsibility, which felt less like property management and more like a scavenger hunt for extra fees. The best part? It turns out we were right. After we left, the property sat on the market for nearly a year. The rent had to be reduced over and over until it was close to the rate we originally leased it for. That's a long and expensive vacancy to prove a point. If you're a property owner, I'd think twice before taking pricing advice from a company that would rather let a property sit empty for months than admit they overpriced it. If you're a tenant, be prepared for annual rent hikes and a move-out process that may leave you defending charges that shouldn't have been yours in the first place.

The gym equipment, and the air conditioning units are showing their age. Parking is difficult partly because people with garages use them for storage. The complex has a great location and has potential to be a very nice place to live. I wish they would better maintain the apartments and amenities. In its current state the rent is extremely high for the condition of the property.

Getting them to answer the phone when you call is like playing the lottery. These apartments are filled with mold in the carpet and on the windows/doors. They will "clean" the carpet but it's so worn down they need to be changed. The AC system is so old and outdated they aren't clean at all and will drip into other apartments. They have this smell to them and have some kind of goop coming from the bottom of where the vent is,it's absolutely disgusting. They will put a deodorizer to mask the smell but not fix the problem so you will have to repeat the process. They just paint over and water damage or mold spots so you wouldn't know until your health changes. They are infested with roaches, silverfish and earwigs. It doesn't matter how much you clean. The safety risk is that there is no type of police on the premises. There have been many occasions of police entering for other reasons such as there have been 2 gun incidents none which were reported to us residents at the time. There has been a car chase in the complex as well. Also people going through your car and taking your belongings if you do not lock it at night. This is supposed to be a "gated community " and Luxury Far from it. People having arguments and fights all hours of the night in the parking lot and let's not forget no parking. People who have garages, do not park their car inside they will keep multiple cars in the parking spaces. People walk dogs without leashes scary for people who have small children. The garbage is over flowing and it takes a while for it to be cleaned up. If you know you have that much garbage it probably would be a good idea to get extra dumpster! This brings families of raccoons at night and possums while trying to throw out your trash and trying not to get rabies. The construction that has gone on for the past 2 years is horrific they will plug their power tools into your patio and your light inside your apartment will flicker great if you're working from home like I was. Your electric bill with extra and according to the office it does not go to your bill but it sure does. It has been done to multiple resident and we all saw an increase in our bill.
