I feel like they rushed my mani and pedi then charged me $50+ for a 45 minute set. She didn't check if my nails had gotten ruined from just sitting there. So before I left that place, my nails and toes were not officially dry. As soon as I got out of my seat to pay the lady. It smudged on the chair and nobody cared to fix it. I don't frequent nail salons as a regular. I tend to come in when I feel ambitious to not have stubby nails. 3 weeks ago I went here and got the best dip powder nail set I've ever gotten. However, today I went in to get them filled and it wasn't ideal. I am very passive in service environments, I don't like conflict so when the removal process of filing and soaking in acetone stung, I went with it. I knew she had filed to the point of the base of my nails being raw because of the sharp stinging during the soaking process. Once that was done they scraped off the dip (normal). The pain that came with it though was a little concerning but I pushed through until I noticed little beads of blood on my cuticles. It was then on repeatedly wiped away. At this point I decided I was only going to get the dip nails removed because I was physically uncomfortable. So I waited until the fake nails were off and then asked if we could stop and I could pay for what she had done and leave. She was confused, so I told her they felt raw and hurt and I didn't want to get a manicure. She was very persistent and the language barrier made the conversation more confusing than it needed to be. She was resistant to tell me how much the removal process was because I "needed a manicure" so I just started pulling out money. Then she kept trying to push me to get a manicure, and I started crying and after a few more "no, really I'd like to leave. How much for the removal?" She finally landed on $10 and I left feeling humiliated from crying in a public place and sore from the process. The picture attached shows what occurred in my 10 minute drive home, when the beads of blood were not being wiped away. I won't be returning and I'm bummed because until that point, it was the longest lasting set of fake nails I'd ever had. I hope everyone has a different and better experience fro Olivia's. read more

I went to Olivia Nail Bar in Moraga after recommendations from several friends. I contracted a severe toenail infection just a few days after my pedicure here. Within 2 days, I noticed swelling and redness. Within 4 days, my toe was purple and had significant swelling. I had to go to urgent care and begin both topical and oral antibiotics as well as antibiotic soaks to try to stop the infection spreading. I'm now beginning my 2nd round of oral antibiotics to try to squash this infection. The doctor clarified that my toenail is not ingrown, it is infected at the bed which is surely caused by the recent pedicure. In over a decade of regular pedicures, this has never happened. I have requested refunds but have not received. I paid via Venmo and requested the refund that way. read more

I was really thrilled to find Olivia's Nail Bar (almost) in my backyard. They have a great set up on the sidewalk outside the salon that is curtained off from the rest of the businesses and have done a good job balancing social distancing and making sure customers are comfortable! I have never been treated so rudely at a nail salon. I took my daughter for our first mani-pedis last week and we had a lovely time. However, after three short days, I noted that my shellac manicure already looked rough because they hadn't taken it close enough to my cuticles. When I came in to get it fixed, the woman who fixed it argued with me about who did it (it was her, Mai), and she proceeded to complain that I called on Wednesday but couldn't come until Sunday. I wanted a pedicure about a week ago, and had been waiting for the new Olivia's Nail Bar to open (near HomeGoods in Moraga) which opened about three weeks before my visit. I made my reservation easily online. I reserved the $30 pampering pedicure and had a satisfying, and interesting, experience. First, this nail salon is new and inviting - clean and new with modern decor. The owner is a retired chemical engineer who chose all the furnishings/decor herself. I've been to other nail salons in the area and this is definitely elegant in comparison. I was offered water or tea and provided with an extra arm pillow - the staff made me feel welcome and comfortable. Secondly, they offer toxin-free products/treatments - yay! I noticed two things while I was enjoying my pedi: 1. Two walk-ins were turned away because they are currently minimally staffed - they are new and haven't had the demand yet for more staff but she is looking/hiring. My advice is to use the online reservation system! 2. I had to awkwardly overhear another customer dickering on the pricing, and then direct racially tone-deaf comments/questions to the owner. People, be nice and keep yourself in check. It ruined my bliss. Paid using Square w/ credit card - super convenient. I waited a week before posting my review to see if my pedi stood the test of time - and it does! Stop by to check it out, or better yet, reserve online and enjoy it for yourself! read more

I'd give Olivia Nail Bar 10 Stars! This is the most amazing nail salon in the east bay! The decor is modern, clean, and inviting. They consistently go above and beyond to ensure a relaxing experience. They have THE largest zoya nail polish! I've had both gel and powder dip and both lasted forever (3 weeks for gel and 1 month for powder dip). The prices are extremely reasonable. Today Hana gave the best French ombré powder dip manicure, which takes an expert! I love that they don't do acrylic nails, so no headache from the fumes. I work in healthcare marketing and find it's extremely rare to find a nail shop that is as dedicated to the customer experience as Olivia Nail Bar are. This place is a must visit and well worth the trip into Moraga. read more

Wonderful! I cannot believe I've lived in Moraga for almost 5 years and this is the first time I've come to Olivia's. I made an appointment online for a shellac mani/pedi, I showed up a few minutes early and they were ready for me. Manicure and pedicure took less than an hour, all of the staff was lovely, and my nails look amazing. Earlier in the week i had snagged a toenail and much of it had ripped off, due to my own clumsiness, and i was slightly worried that it would be a painful pedicure if that nail was filed or anything. I pointed it out before the pedicure started, and the technician was very careful and gentle with that toe the whole time, which i greatly appreciated. Will definitely be returning. TLDR: Do NOT come here. The woman who i think is the manager seems nice and i came on a walk in at 12:30, she told me to come back at 3:30 - fine i didn't have anything going on. I come back and she seats me at 3:30 then lazily gets things together for 15 minutes, doesn't really do anything. I asked for a french pedicure and then the woman who I'm guessing is more experienced at doing nails takes over and she barely gives me the leg massage only with oil and didn't use lotion when i asked, and there are no big massage chairs here. She didn't scrub my feet well as they are still rough when I got home and checked. The woman then left me to do another woman's manicure, didn't say a word to me I thought she'd come back in 5 minutes and proceeded to make me wait 30. She tried to say i was done when she hadn't even put the light pink gloss or even top coat on my nails. This job is the worst french pedicure I've ever had, and looks like i could do it better myself. $32 for this? Im extremely frustrated and never coming back here - I cant believe i had to get a pedicure for 1.5 hr and it looks this bad. read more

They always do a great job on my nails and I make the drive from WC because I appreciate their non toxic nail polish options and they have the high end brands of them too and still provide gel too if you are into that. I've been to Olivia a few times for shellac manis and regular pedis. All done well in a friendly, contemporary environment. But i had to take off several weeks because my nails needed a break from the shellac. Today, Vanessa introduced me to deep powder, which for me is a game changer -- long lasting, beautiful colors without all the liquid chemicals that are so tough on my nails. i got a matching pedi -- not totally matching because it's not like the boxed set available for traditional shellac. I called Olivia's nail bar and booked an appointment over the phone on a Saturday for my daughter and myself. We arrived that afternoon and I was told I did not have a booking. Then the owner found my booking and said she could only take one of us- they did not have enough workers. From what I could gather they took some walk ins and did not remember our booking. It was disappointing as this was booked for my daughter's birthday. The salon is very nicely renovated, but only two people were working so not a lot of staff for a Saturday. The owner also seemed confused over another client's booking. I will never go to this salon again. Especially since there are so many better alternatives. Olivia Nail Bar isn't a nail salon trying to offer standard mani/pedis -- it's all about the experience of being pampered. The salon is beautiful inside and the owner, Vanessa, and her nail technician, Hannah, are absolutely lovely. Vanessa accommodated my bridal party of 6 girls and let us have the entire shop to ourselves. She and her staff were patient with all of our requests for touch-ups, they played wedding music for us, and they even served us tea and cookies! They use all-natural products, so no worries if you have sensitive skin! I thought that might affect the lasting power of the nail polish, but my gel manicure lasted for three weeks! Note of advice - call ahead or reserve online because they are short on staff. But it is absolutely worth it. I will definitely be back! read more

This place looks great but the service is terrible. I really, really wanted to like this place. I tried to give it a chance at least three times but the owner is terrible. She talks about how she hates running the shop and bad mouths her employees and wonders why they don't want to work there. It's sad, I like the location and the interior, but the lady running the place is crazy. When I say crazy, I mean she's probably on several meds or needs to be! It's awesome when you catch her on a good day, but if one of her employees decided to take time to help a family member or they just got tired of her crazy behavior and took a day off, she talks bad about them. One of her workers took her son to Kaiser so she was late to work and she kept talking about it and the fact that her employee should be at work. The owner talks about how she can't sleep at night because she hates running the business. To make matters worse, she told myself and another client that the shop had NEGATIVE SPIRITS! Not joking. She's bipolar and her employees hate working there. Her hope is to leave the business within the next two months because she can't sleep at night, and I think that wound would best. The nail techs are nice, but the owner is awful. I won't be back until she's gone! Horrible, sad the owner gets in her own way. read more

Been going to Olivia several times - due to Covid restriction, it's been very difficult for local small business. I'm so glad it's still open with the same owner. The experience there has just been excellent - one of the best for me was three days ago, I got mani/pedi done, then i got my toes messed up a day later, went back, Amy helped me fix it. I was trying to give her some tips for fixing it, she refused to even take the tips. I asked my nail tech to do a different color on the third coat to make it a little darker and her demeanor totally changed, saying "what do you want, you said this color was fine". I'm not even sure where to start with this one. I called ahead and asked for a dip manicure with extensions (tips). The lady when I first sat down asked if I wanted long or short nails. Thinking that she meant the acrylic length, I said short, and reminded her that I still wanted the tips. She started dipping my nails in the power WITH NO ACRYLIC NAILS ON. Another technician came over to correct the problem, and the lady doing my nails sternly said, "YOU SAID SHORT." She then angrily started taking the powder off my nails. Thought it couldn't get worse, but oh no. Typically when I get acrylics it takes around 30-40 minutes to shape the nail. This tech, took about 5. I tried asking her to reshape the nails and she was obviously annoyed. After she finished the nails, I looked in horror. None were the same length, there were divots where the powder didn't set, and mostly all the nails were crooked due to terrible application. I asked her to just take off the nails, there was no fixing them. She took a picture of my nails and sent them to her boss, who called her. The tech then hands me HER cell phone to talk to her boss. The person told me I wouldn't be charged (I would hope not since I left with worse nails than I came with). She then tells me that my tech, HAD NEVER DONE ACRYLIC NAILS BEFORE. The last thing my nail tech said was, "You go now". She didn't apologize once. I'm so in shock it's not even funny. read more

I had a very good impression of this salon the moment I walked in. It's very quiet, clean, all the staff speaks English too. The seating was very comfortable even though they don't have message chairs.
