There are tons of Olivia restaurants as it is a chain. Gave it a try any way since the menu looked extensive and good. Service was average but friendly. The pizza margharita was a C+ or 3.0. There is not enough sauce. It was nice a thin and crispy though. Overall, I'd go elsewhere for pizza but you can try their other menu items. read more

A good Italian chain restaurant with pretty good Italian food. We got a speciality pizza that had seafood and pineapple. Regardless of your views of pineapple on pizza, the sauce went very well with the sweet pineapple tastes and it was delicious. We also got a pasta that was pretty well made. The restaurant is a little cramped, but always very busy and has a nice ambiance! The location is great, central in the downtown harbour area. read more

After a full day visit to Flåm by bus and ferry we were starving. We had a great experience at Olivia in Oslo and knew we could count on another tasty meal in Bergen. Although Olivia's had numerous locations in Bergen with glowing reviews, I had no expectations with Olivia's central Bergen harbor location. My friend and I were seated upstairs with a distant view of the harbor. I had the carbonara. 100% yes- this carbonara rocked my universe. I was impressed to discover that the pasta is made in house. We came here with low expectations late at night. It was practically the only dining option open, and I am thankful they are open an hour later than everything else in the area. Even though it is Italian, and we were looking for authentic Norwegian food, the food quality did not disappoint. All of the pizza, pasta, and wine was delicious. The actual restaurant is huge, and it was still pretty packed when we left after the kitchen closed. It seems like a great local hangout spot, and we look forward to coming back in the future! We ordered practically everything off the menu given we had a big party. Lots of pizzas, lots of starters, two different pastas. The service was great! Came here at about 8PM after just having arrived in Bergen Friday night. We were luckily seated right away in a cozy outdoor table (with heating!). Service was fast and the food came quickly. We ordered the salmon with asparagus risotto and one of the penne pastas. The salmon was so tender and delicious, and the risotto was pretty good. I would probably try something else next time but this definitely was not a mistake to try. The pasta was also delicious, you really can't go wrong with tomato sauce and chicken and bacon. Olivia is a chain restaurant with decent food. However, if you are looking for pizza go somewhere else. On my multiple visits to this location I have yet to receive a pizza that is not burnt. Location is great but that is maybe the biggest draw for this restaurant. Ok at accommodations big groups but only if you make a reservation before hand. Service is often slow so it puts a damper on the whole visit. read more

Olivia is situated by the pier in a touristy area of Bergen with quite the ambiance. We were lucky to snag a table downstairs as it was pretty packed for dinner. I ordered the Pasta Norma alla Olivia with chicken. The presentation was quite nice and the balance of flavors plus the freshness of ingredients was solid. For me, it tasted like a typical pasta dish that you would order at an Italian restaurant and the price was reasonable for what you got. Although it lacked the "wow factor," (aside for the focaccia which was to die for) I would not be opposed to returning back here and trying more food on their menu. read more

I came here twice during my 12 days in Bergen. Service was always friendly, quick and attentive. Each time I server was happy to recommend their favorite dishes and tell me about the popular choices. Luckily, I never had to wait more than 10 minutes for a table during my visit. However I did see a wait for larger parties during the early evenings. So, make a reservation if you can. My friend and I came here when walking around the Bergen wharf. It's in the center of town and seems to stay pretty busy. Despite this, the workers do a good job getting people in and out efficiently. My friend is a picky eater and said her pasta was probably the best she's ever had. The waitress didn't know the menu, couldn't answer any questions, and was never available to help. We easily could have walked out without paying. We waved her down 3 times to try to pay and she ignored us every time. The food was delicious as well as the drinks. Had dinner with friends while here in Bergen.. Nice place - very busy - had to wait a little for a table upstairs.. which was fine with us.. It was hot inside; sure its the end of winter there but it was really sweltering (phew).. However, we acclimatised by removing layers and settled in for a nice dinner, with great wine and company.. The food here had a nice, fresh taste to it and was prepared very well. The restaurant has a relatively peaceful atmosphere and supports both casual and formal attire. The waitstaff was very nice but everything took too long, the food and the bill. It might be that I'm not used to waiting a long time to get the bill like the norm is in Norway, but we were done eating for 30 minutes or more before we left. In the end, I would recommend this to a friend but they must try the fresh fish first before coming here. read more

I came here twice in my days at Bergen, and only one I ate there. The first time, I was searching for a place to eat and this place popped up. It seemed good, so I walked over. Luckily, it was not much of a wait as the reviews suggested, and maybe it was because I arrived early. However, the food was absolutely amazing and the waitstaff were super accommodating. We started with the Margarita pizza with burrata on top - amazing!! For dinner, I had the Penne with chicken, while my boyfriend had the salmon. First, sitting outside by the dock in the evening could not be a better setting. Our server, Isabelle was very friendly and helpful. The salmon was absolutely fantastic: very fresh and delicious. It came with a small salad of lettuce, arugula, fennel and tomatoes. We all ordered rosemary roasted potatoes as a side and each had dessert. The location is great as it is right along the port and looks out along the main touristy section of town. The food, however, was lacking. It was not because the food was bad per se but it was so pedestrian. We had a large table and so we decided to share everything family style in order to try many dishes. We had the linguine di mare, insalata mista, asparagus, a pizza, and another side that I cannot remember. There was nothing memorable about the meal unfortunately.
