Olivio has been our go to guy for all things landscape for over 5 years now!!! He has done sprinklers and drip for two of our homes. He has also done French drains, snaked all our outside drains that weren't draining appropriately, found leaks in our system, and helped me with advise on plants and fertilizers. Man, where to start? This guy is nothing but a ripoff artist. He told us his rate was $120/hr. He justified it by saying he has a 3- or 4-man crew and they work fast. The first time he came out he was supposed to hook up 2 valves. He hooked up one, getting 5 sprinklers online. The second he hooked up into a dead cap even though the instruction very clearly was to hook up to the drip on our slope. So we get him out again to get the slope hooked up. He tells me they hooked up the second valve to a capped line. Gee, thanks. Very helpful. He initially says we needs a new (third) valve, so 2 valves will go to the slope, and the cost will be $1,400. No can do. Then he tells me you can put 400-700 drips on one valve so we don't need the second valve, and estimates the cost at $590. Quote: "I was not trying to rip you off." I hadn't accused him of trying to rip me off. He knew damn well what he was trying to do. So they work for 1.5 hours...and he submits an invoice for $590. He came back for 10 minutes to do some wrap-up work about 10 days later but didn't finish running drips to all of the plants. So it took 2 trips, the work still isn't finished, the guy tried to rip me off by adding an unnecessary valve, and then he tried to charge 3x his quoted rate. Maybe he's the guy if you have a sprinkler leak but I would not have him run lines or hook up valves unless you have a blank check and want to write it out to this guy. Stay away. read more

Olivio and his team did an amazing job! First off, very responsive, he met me for an evaluation/quote the day after I called, and then they completed my fairly complicated project in 1 day a week later. We had a really haphazard sprinkler system that was never updated by previous homeowners after the landscaping was redone - some sprinklers were spraying into bushes and not the grass, others were watering mulch that had no plants, etc etc. Plus there were several leaks in the system! They did a full evaluation and now our sprinklers are all properly positioned and repaired. They also installed a state of the art Rachio 3 smart controller so now our sprinklers will auto adjust the watering depending on the weather. I recently needed some maintenance and repair work on my backyard hillside irrigation system. My wife and I are long time Oceanside residents so I wanted to hire someone locally to do the necessary repair work. We've relied on Jose Olivio and his crew twice now in the last 2 months. Both times he has responded quickly to our needs and completed the repair immediately. The most recent call was to repair and clear the underground drainage system that was causing the guttering to back up and overflow as well as the flooding around the ground where the downspout fed into the drainage. With all the rain recently, the flooding around the foundation of the house was a serious problem. Jose responded the same day and his crew dug up the underground drain to find that tree roots had completely filled the drain pipe causing a blockage. He was able to use a camera that fed into the drain and find the distance to the blockage. After digging up the pipe and replacing about 10 ft of drain pipe the blockage was fixed. The crew was able to replace all the grass and shrubs to their original condition and cleanup the area exactly as it was before they started. They accomplished all of this in a matter of 2 hours, just incredible. There are few businesses that I would write a review for but Jose Olivio and his crew are worth touting. They are reliable, conscientious, adept at what they do, very personable and price their work fairly. read more

For years we've known that we had an issue with our outdoor drains since water would pool up significantly every time it rained and with all the rain this year, we finally decided to do something about it. Hydrojetting companies only handle the hydrojetting but no repairs and plumbers can diagnose the issue but didn't really want to touch the outdoor drains. Luckily we found Olivio's Landscaping since they are able to do it all - hydrojetting, camera to look at the pipes, repair, etc. The crew came out and found that we had roots in our drain pipes in multiple places in the yard. They started the repairs and were going to come back a few days later to complete everything, but because of rain that was coming the next day, Jose called me later that night and wanted to instead come back early the next morning to make sure we would be set for the storm that was coming through. This was very much appreciated, as we could have had more damage caused by the rain while we were mid-repair. Our project took a couple days but was money well-spent to clear the drains that had likely been clogged for years! After the big rains our drains failed and we had one of our bedrooms damaged pretty badly. We hired Olivio to basically put in all new outside drains and a sump pump to get the water to the street. Jose is the man in charge of this business and he was amazing. His mantra is that he doesn't just want to do a job, he wants to do it right. He and his crew worked their tails off for a week and the project looks fantastic. He is obviously a perfectionist, just exactly the person and company you would want to do a job like this one. This is an expensive job due to the size of our property and his price was very competitive and he came back a few different times after they were finished to put new plants in for the ones that were damaged (which he paid for) and clean up everything so it was spotless. Somewhat expensive rates, overall good experience for sprinkler leak repair (2 cracks in line). It is difficult to find reliable sprinkler repair experts, so we were happy with the results. THE GOOD - Responsive - came out same day for estimate and next day for repair. Knowledgeable - seemed to know what they are doing - solved some complex issues with strange plumbing configuration and tree root issues. Patient - explained what they were doing (as I watched them like a hawk). Parts available - they have a trailer with them with a large parts selection, to be able to solve many problems onsite, without having to go to the store. Good cleanup afterwards. 1 year warranty. THE BAD (ish) - Somewhat expensive rates - about $400 for two hours work, two men. Another plumber said $300 may have been a good price, but we could not wait. Almost flaked out - two hours after agreeing to come, he called back right before he was supposed to be at our house for the estimate, and said it is too far to come - after I expressed displeasure about waiting till the last minute to cancel, he did agree to come. TIPS - Get a second estimate if you have time; ask about how they will do the job and what exactly they will do. A happy customer! read more

He recommended the course of action and followed up and repaired it quickly. He even finished slightly under his estimate. He offers advice on watering times, frequency and length depending on terrain, placement, shade, etc. Many people assume their system is setup well when they are actually wasting water and ruining their plants.
