We had a nasty water leak in our front yard. I originally thought it was a bad sprinkler head because water was forming in 3 puddles. I shut off our sprinkler system thinking this would do the trick. I removed the water from the puddles but the water would still fill up. I had no idea what it was and so I was frantic looking for someone who could help us. So I started on Yelp. I found several people but Jose' was the only one who responded and said he could come out the next day. I definitely needed this taken care of considering the water restrictions and stuff like that and with the water trickling onto the sidewalk, it doesn't look good and that is alot of money for a water bill. Anyway, Jose' came out and discovered that it was a main pipe leak from our house to the city's water pipe. I was amazed how he was able to locate the leak and where. At first, he said it was fixed but noticed after turning the water back on that it was still leaking 'just a little bit'. When he told me this, he said he wanted to make sure he was 110% for sure that he fixed this and so he said he would come back on Monday to continue but he said we could turn on the water since the water was not leaking as hard as it used to. So he came back Monday and finished what he promised. Kudos to Jose' and his team! I needed someone to help me with an irrigation water leak that I could not find on my own. It was difficult to find anyone that would be able to both detect the leak and to fix it. I live in San Diego It seems that most of the people that I called would not come further south than north county. I called Jose and he came out as soon as he could which was a couple of days after I called him as he was pretty busy. He detected the leak which was under my driveway, not in the area where I saw water soaking the ground. He used his leak detecting device and figured out exactly where the leak was and how to fix it without cutting the cement of my driveway. The job was pretty involved but he and his crew worked all day to put in a new pipe and tie it into the irrigation line bypassing the leak. They all worked really hard and did a great job. You can tell when a company has pride in their work! The work is also guaranteed for one year. I don't think many companies offer that nowadays. They also changed a shut off valve that was at my water meter because it had corroded. They did a great job with that too. I moved to a new neighborhood and realized thereafter that the grounds needed some fixing up. We needed some new flowering plants, shrubs, palm trees and grass for the front area as well as the back. we put out a request for landscaping services and got immediate responses from two companies, we decided on contracting company Y, based on some reviews we read on their website and their cost was more competitively price than the other company. They were contracted to start work at the beginning of October and end before the month was out. The company brought their catalogue of plants for us to choose from. We choose some beautiful flowering plants and healthy looking grass stubs. Every day, the men would come and dig and plant and move and sort to get our yard the way we wanted. Near to month end, we realized that the design was different than what we had decided on and some of the plants we choose were not being used; we were told these were more expensive and to add to that we weren't getting any palm trees either. I had a stubborn irrigation leak that my landscaper and swimming pool service couldn't find, and water had been draining into the street for so long that the city finally shut off my water to "get my attention." I called another highly-rated irrigation service on Yelp, and they told me it would be at least a month before they could come out. So I called Jose. He was here in two days (he was going to come the next day but I wasn't available), and had to come back several times to do a full inspection before he was finally able to locate a small leak underneath a huge tree. We agreed on a plan, he and his crew re-ran the whole problem section of pipe and also changed two shutoff valves which were also leaking - for a very reasonable fee. Discovered sprinklers in the backyard were leaking every where! Checked Yelp, and decided to call Olivos Irrigation. It was 4:45 p.m. in the afternoon. He said he'd be here at 6:00, and his truck with trailer rolled up at six on the dot! Jose took one look and said, "I know what's wrong - you've got a bad valve." He and his crew went on the hunt, and found the problem in just a few minutes. Jose quoted me a price that I thought was more than reasonable, and at 7:30 p.m., they were done. The unique thing about Jose is that his professional truck and trailer contain almost everything he needs for any repair job, so he can fix almost anything immediatley, and doesn't have to go get parts and come back another time. We discovered Olivio Landscaping & Irrigation Co about 3 years ago when Jose was fixing our neighbors irrigation system and leaks. Jose and his crew have been doing all our maintenance, palm tree trimming and irrigation since then. He is very conscientious about water use making sure all the sprinker heads are for the correct of type of plant and soil and that we have and that appropriate coverage. Our stucco planter walls were failing and need to be replaced, Jose and his crew tore out all the walls, transported the debris away, rebuilt a new wall taking care that existing irrigation lines and landacape lighting cabling was not damaged. I had a sprinkler line break that required the water to be shut off. I placed a call to the company I've used before and he wasn't available, but they gave me the name and phone of Olivio Irrigation. I called them and they answered right away, said he could come out at 3:00 and then called and said they could come out early, which was amazing. They had the break repaired and even helped fix another issue. Jesse even called later in the day to make sure everything was working. I got very nervous when the company I have worked with in the past couldn't come out but when a company you trust makes a recommendation it means a lot. Jose is very knowledgeable about irrigation and a quick problem solver. For a home which had some exterior water collection which we could not understand. We had several folks come and heard several opinions that honestly were conflicting, costly and didn't make sense with the symptoms. Jose came in and quickly diagnosed the core issue being a water valve which he gave a very reasonable quote to resolve. We hired him to do it and it resolved the core issue immediately. He also identified a longer term irrigation solution by doing a survey of the space. He was thoughtful in his approach exploring a natural flow irrigation solution before installing a pump. I contacted them because I had two leaking sprinkler valves and two timers which were not functioning properly. Jose came the same afternoon and checked things out. He found an additional leaking valve and gave me a quote to replace the three valves and two timers which sounded reasonable. He showed up for the job on time (a few minutes early in fact) and completed everything in a professional and timely manner. I called Jose a couple of days later to add a station to one of the timers and fix the scheduler on the other timer that I had inadvertently screwed up. We recently purchased a home and I could not get the sprinkler system to work using schedule setup. Jose Olivio is true professional. The first visit everything was fully functional even though it was not working the entire week before he came (the kind of thing that always happens, right?). He provided his analysis of the issue and did not charge for the visit. When the same problem reemerged, he came back in a few days of calling and installed a new control box. Then a couple weeks later when a new problem appeared with a leaky pipe in the sprinkler system (unrelated), he came at the end of the day, fixed the leak and installed a pressure regulator. I contacted Jose Olivio on Thursday to inquire about a leak we had in our irrigation system. He said he could be out to our place in Poway on Friday. He came out , gave us a quote, and was back out the next morning to repair the pipe. He arrived right on time, completed the job plus more, as it turned out there was also a problem in part of the main, and cleaned everything up very nicely. Olivio and crew came out at short notice for a suspected leak. My bill was 2x the previous month and today (working from home) I caught areas with way too much water. Turns out my problem was the original installer had not pulled the tab on the battery on the controller, so a power loss and my own ignorance of the 4 timer, 3 program controller (much more complex than my yard needed) meant it was watering many times a day. With the major rainstorm 2 days ago my backyard drainage failed and flooded 1/2 of the yard. I called Olivio Drainage and less then an hour of hanging up the Phone, Jose had two very skilled Gentleman at my home. They have the latest equipment and are very knowledgeable.
