What an interesting store with so many different items - from food items to clothing and even home items such as towels, bed sheets, ceramic pots for plants and more! The store was huge, almost a warehouse-size, so there was a lot of stuff to check out. Definitely recommend this even if you just want to check it out for fun. This place is odd . It is a bit run down, but if you like bargain hunting its worth a visit. They are short staffed like most retail stores . I found a face cream I usually pay $40 for at $10 and they have cheap snacks and cleaning supplies. This is a good place for holiday/ patio decorations and toys . They carry some clothing from Target , ( Cat and Jack brand) and Universal thread brand too . Just like TJ Maxx, you get whatever they have in stock. Slow service , but cashier was friendly !! This is a great place to come all throughout the year for all of your household, art, school, toys and odds and ends needs. There's no other place where you will find a more complex offering of goods from a wide variety of places. I needed some art supplies and it just so happens that they had the color tee shirt pens and the stencils as well as the book organizers that I needed all for well below any price I've paid for anywhere else. I've also had this become one of my go to places to go when I need a gift. They have such an eclectic collection of merchandise I've found that no matter what the age or how particular the person is I'm always able to find something interesting and affordable. I shop here all the time when I need certain items like coffee and beauty items. I would love to see more cashiers and have the place a little cleaner. Also, as I was shopping today and reading labels like I always do, I noticed a lady following me. Every aisle I visited, she was there poking around and pretending to be shopping. Are the prices amazing? Not really. But are the employees friendly? Also no. But is it a clean and welcoming store. Definitely not. However I give it five stars because I love resale shopping, and treasure hunting, so this is a great place to itch the shopping urge. I like this place very much. Why do you want to spend more at some other place if you can cheaper here. One of the items I get here is books for my son. Getting good activity books that are not much costly so that I can keep him engaged as well as learn new things. Other one is toys. Items come in and go. If you get it you are lucky. Before last Christmas got really good deals on toys. Place may not be well organized. Checkout lines will be little slow. I will first say that this is not a place you go to get name brand items. Very similar to Big Lots, if you need a non-essential item, come here first to see if you can get a good deal. For example, today I got a kids sled and (2) nice blow-up tubes for a total of $26. Easily would have been pushing $40 at a Walmart or Meijer. Previously I got plastic clips to hang my outside Christmas lights for $2. Every single time I come here, I swear I'm never coming back... And then I end up returning for something quick, because it's just around the corner from home. Then, every time, again, I swear I will never again walk through the doors. Customer service was awful, cashier told me the wrong amount, I paid in cash what she told me to pay, gave me back 9 cents, and than started freaking out and telling me she needed the 9 cents back! This place is super cool. My sister lives right around the corner and said we just HAD to go. Like my fellow yelpers said, it is a little odd...kind of like an Odd Lot only they have a lot better selection. What a strange store. Newly-opened in part of the former Farmer Jack on the corner of 9 and Farmington, Ollie's Bargain Outlet seems to be one of those places where you just end up, instead of a destination. They've got everything from handicapped bathroom aids, to "Dummies" books in Spanish, to weird off-brand food, to JC Penney-branded towels, to carpet... lots, and lots of carpet... It kind of reminds me of Odd Lots / Big Lots in the late 80's, when it was "Hey, here's some cheap random junk you can buy." I can't say there's a reason to make the trip, because their stock presumably isn't static. But if you're in the area, it's something to check out. read more

Every single time we go to Ollie's, my hubby says the same thing as we're walking out: "Ugh, freakin' Ollie's...why do we come here?" I always laugh! It's like a hoarder had an intervention, and his family donated his crap to Ollie's. Still, we live nearby and we can sometimes find good deals so we visit a few times a year, and I always get a good laugh from my husband. I certainly wouldn't make a special trip to come here, though. If Ollie's ever had a fire, the first responders would need hazmat suits because the store is full of plastic crap and chemicals. read more

I give this store 0 stars! Worst customer service ever there. If you want to be treated horribly then i recommend going to this store. My second trip here in the last couple of months. I chalked up my first visit to the cashier having a bad day.....but apparently not. Long lines at check out with one lane open while a second cashier chats with the open lanes cashier who is leisurely checking people out. Cashier so rude and unfriendly -- said NOTHING to any customer other than the total. I had to ask for a bag for my merchandise. Her contempt for the customers was VERY evident and second only to her attitude of having to be at work at all. With attitude, I would fire her on the spot. The bargains are not so great that any customer should patronize this store with their hard earned money. I love Ollie's! The food section is awesome, with many deals to be had, such as: ~ They have a decent selection of healthy cereals that are significantly cheaper than at a grocery store. ~The olive oils are good quality and the price cannot be beat. ~Powdered teas/drink mixes at least $2 less than retail ~Lots and lots of potato chips, some you might have never seen before ... And lots of other random good finds, with the selection varying per location. As for the other sections of the store, the bath/beauty section has a few gems, with mid-range quality shampoos and conditioners constantly on sale. My Ollie's has these containers of Mr. Bubble bath water color tablets that change the water color. My kids are nuts about these so I always buy whatever is on the shelf whenever I stop by. The book selection is really great for kids, and there are a lot of good homeschooling resources. A lot of cookbooks too, all discounted. Other sections such as the bed linens is a pass - more expensive than Walmart for the same stuff! The furniture and rugs are grossly overpriced too. Every store has hits and misses, and Ollie's is no exception. It is worth a visit, though! Pick up a few books, get some stuff for the pantry and see what else you can find. They have complimentary coffee so you can't really go wrong here! read more
