First, let me say the selection here is amazing. It's completely overwhelming how many options are available. There are beautiful displays to help spark your imagination and the pricing is very large and clear so if you are working with a contractor with a per square foot price range you are in good shape. And, what they have on the floor is in stock (you can generally see it sitting there.)Product selection and availability are definitely not the issues. So, what is? Service. They just haven't figured that out yet. The person I feel for the most is the cashier. I have now tried checking out twice and the illegible UPC codes typically printed on the depth side (yeah like a quarter inch deep) are distorted and impossible to scan. Two out of two times she has had to either go get a legible code or stand there calling for assistance that never comes. I had to go run and get a couple different samples hoping one might scan easier. So, if one person is in front of you in line it will take no less than 10 minutes to checkout. And then on the floor, you have people very willing to help but you have to stand there as they go rushing by saying "I promise I will be right with you". So I am not saying the people don't want to help you, it's just there are bad systems and processes that make it really difficult for them to do it. read more

I had the worst experience today at the Novi location. I was issued store credit for $900 a couple years ago when we missed the return window due to construction delays. We were assured by the Ann Arbor store that the credit never expires. What a lie. I tried to use the credit today and was told after over 45 minutes at the store it was not in the system, and that they would open a case to have the card potentially reissued. Walked away empty handed and very frustrated. When I called the customer service number provided by the store. I was told that they could request a reissue of the cards and that it would need to be processed and then mailed to us. I have a receipt and the original cards and I still don't know if I am going to be refunded. Plus my time has been wasted. I am so very frustrated. I was told multiple times by the store and by customer service that the cards don't expire. My definition of not expired would be working when I come to the store. I can't believe it read more

You guys gave me the wrong slab of quartz countertop! I ordered and paid for SKU 923700902. What you gave me was actually SKU 100066117...the slab had the wrong SKU sticker on it. This is the second time this has happened to me. In the photo, the correct SKU is the triangle piece at the bottom...laying on top of the incorrect piece. Blown away by the overwhelming variety of tiles available to choose from. It was fun to roam through all the aisles and dream about the possibilities. I appreciated the mini models towards the front of the store that offer inspiration for showers, bathrooms, offices, etc. My contractor advised me to visit this store and browse Pinterest beforehand for ideas to pick out tiles for a bathroom renovation. Whenever I had a question, there were staff nearby restocking and organizing I could approach for help. I did feel the store was somewhat understaffed and could benefit from more available reps for customers to reach out to if they need help. After browsing some, I was able to purchase a few samples to bring home (they are returnable) to figure out how they looked under my lighting and wall color. I do wish the SKU #s/product names/scannable barcode were available on these samples or at least in larger print for the cashier, who asked me if I took photos of the tile names on my phone and read them slowly out loud for her to punch them in at the register. Just something to consider for efficiency's sake when it gets busier as there was a line starting to build behind me. My fiancé and I made an appointment with Hayley, one of the designers, and that was an amazing experience (the 1 star rating above does not apply to her, she was definitely 5 stars). We showed her a picture of our bathroom vanity and she was able to put together different tiles and grouts for us that looked amazing! We paid for everything that day and made the mistake (?) of picking up the order at a later time. Looking back at everything, we should have opted to pick it up while we were there. I was able to track my order online and it had been a week since we placed. We wanted to pick it up, but it said it wasn't ready yet. Which I thought was a little odd since it had been a decent amount of time. I called twice in one day, and the man I spoke with said it would be ready the next day after 2pm. The next day rolls around and its still not ready. I call and speak to someone else and she said she is working the following morning and she will make sure its ready. She did make sure it was ready but of course there was an issue with my order. Two of the items we ordered only had partial quantities available in stock. Which I thought was odd since when we placed the order Hayley made sure everything we were ordering had plenty of stock. The man I spoke with on the phone said I could pay to have the items shipped from Tennessee, which why should I be the one paying for that? That's an error on the company and they should be the one eating that charge for their error in stock. I ended up telling him to just cancel the two items that they didn't have full stock of and that we would take the rest since I didn't want half coming from one dye lot and the other half from another dye lot. They loaded up the rest and then still charged me for the items that were supposed to be cancelled, around $90 worth. I'm super glad I checked my receipt, because that's just not cool. But now we are still short tile for our project and have no idea what to do?! Overall, after meeting with Hayley and getting everything straightened away the very first day I was so incredibly happy we had picked tile from here to redo our bathroom. Now, I wish we would have never gone with them in the first place! I will never come back to this place ever again for any of my projects, I am so incredibly disappointed in this entire process. The floor workers are not helpful at all. Whenever you call, you wait on hold for over 10 minutes. No one knows what is going on with anything. They don't know how to keep proper track of their stock either. Just beware, and go anywhere else for your tile needs! read more

The first time I have ever went it was truly an amazing experience. Find Manager Anthony (I think that is his name) great guy. He made our experience so smooth. He is very positive and gives honest opinions on design ideas. He made it seem like it was a home away from home even though it was the first time we had ever shopped there.Their tiles are absolutely stunning and they have a nice selection of porcelain, marbles, and vinyl wood. The reason why I gave 4 star rating is when I got to the register the associate seemed overwhelmed and confused, even though I tried to explain the purchase. The second time we visited (today) they were short staffed and even though they were nice and as customer service friendly it didn't feel as welcoming. I wanted 15 boxes of the indoor/outdoor porcelain from a closed pallet. The lady said we had to take the open boxes on the front pallet which we did eventually as my husband was in a rush and decided he wouldn't be patient to return on a later when there would be better assistance. read more

I went during the week when there was relatively no traffic to pick up a few tiles for an ongoing project. I'm there almost every week and the associates are always friendly--except for last week. I was waiting for approximately 10 minutes as an associate was helping another customer. I made sure to keep 6 feet away from everyone in the aisles when an associate (Jane) walked past and yelled, "Excuse me!" I was nowhere near her and neither was my cart. As she made her way back, I politely asked her, "Is there anyone else available to help me?" She barked, "No, sorry!" She hurried past me as if it were killing her to assist me in any capacity. I had to walk to the other side of the warehouse to find a manager (Allen) to help me. He was very polite. However, Jane was the rudest associate that I've ever encountered in ANY retail setting. It's a shame that people opt to work customer service when it's apparent that they don't like certain customers and they definitely aren't willing to be of service. This is for the Novi, MIchigan location. I ordered and paid for all my flooring on Wednesday, told the Pro desk my contractor would pick up on Monday. All items were in stock. On Monday the tile was not available for pick up. The response was they were looking for it somewhere in the store. How can Floor & Decor sell items that were paid for already? We saw the stock on the floor Wednesday. It is now Tuesday and the tile is still not available. There is inventory in other stores but this store still wants to look on their floor, this delay is costing me time and money and no one at Floor & Decor seems to care. Be aware if you choose to shop here, do not expect them to care about you once they have your money. Update to review: I was contacted by Floor&Decor to discuss my issues. They apologized for the issue and worked with me to resolve the problem. They are taking a store inventory to update their systems. This is my first experience at Floor & Decor.  The selection is incredible. I feel the prices are reasonable and am satisfied with the experience.  But the best part is the Free Design Service and JANE D.   She was the best.  She was patient and listened to my needs.  She offered great suggestions and I am excited about my final selections.   Jane is preparing my order for pick up in a few weeks.     I would highly recommend the FREE Design Service and ask for Jane.  She is top notch. read more

Floor and Decor is the worst flooring company in the metro Detroit area b miles. As a professional the flooring industry with over 20 years of experience I can say this is true. I've used every tile and flooring outlet and distributor in the area and it's not that they are just the worst but they are the only place that can be considered just terrible. Other places may fall a touch short on this or that but this can be expected. Floor and decor falls short in every aspect of what it is I. Business to do. On top of this, not a single employee, manager or otherwise seems to care at all. From overpriced products to having a simple phone call answered to remedy the problems sure to arise when dealing with this outlet. I've honestly never once been to this store or even called there without an issue. You literally get no help. People do not answer the phones and if they do they will hang up when they don't understand what you need because they aren't flooring people with flooring knowledge so they do not understand the language of the business they are in. When a customer of mine tells me they found the tile at floor and decor I seriously cringe at this point. I've never dealt with this level of incompetence in the flooring industry and honestly I haven't dealt with this level of general incompetence altogether at any store for anything. This is a warning. If you are about to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on your project do not use this institution. This place is the WORST and I would know. We ordered over $1000 worth of treads after already spending almost $4000 on flooring and tile at F&D. We were contacted by the delivery company that it would be delivered on a certain day. The day of delivery, the delivery company informed us the the order had not made it the warehouse and they could not locate the order. This order is needed to complete our flooring project. We tried calling the Novi store, however no one would answer and eventually the call would disconnect. We called corporate and were on the phone with a rep for over 30 minutes. Once she put us on hold this call also disconnected. This business practice is unacceptable. I will be contacting the BBB and my bank to dispute the charges, as I cannot get any assistance for F&D. read more

This place has TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I understand the shortage on workers right now, but even the floor manager seemed impatient and rude with us. They were very short with our simple questions, and told us to order 90 12x12" pieces of tile when we needed 75 square feet. Fortunately, they said we can return any extra pieces, which I am sure there will be many of. If you are going to get tile near Novi, I would recommend going to The Tile Shop, which we went to after and was very helpful. The employees at The Tile Shop helped us choose tiles that went together and even recommended we choose the tile we had gotten from Floor & Decor for our floor because they said it would look better. Overall, we will probably never go back to this Floor & Decor and will go to much smaller stores that are willing and ready to provide help. read more
