First time visiting Ollie's today--it's huge! It's Costco sized and full of cheap bargain priced items--like mugs, shower curtains, holiday decorations, books, rugs, and soccer balls. There are ceiling signs hanging showing different sections of the store (eg. Food, Furniture, Lawn & Garden, etc). I spent over 1.5 hours just looking around and there was still half the store remaining I didn't have time to check out!! I've heard the items in stock vary (as they buy overfill from other places at a steep discount). Today there were a bunch of very cute colorful pastel mugs selling for 99 cents. They also had Squid Game themed mugs for $4 and a Yoda one for $2. I was able to find a pickleball racquet set here as well (cheaper than on Amazon). For me, this location is the original and the best. When my brothers came to town to visit my father, we would all go to Ollie's back in the day when Ollie Rosenberg was running the show. In those days, Ollie's was a dirty, disorganized pile of salvage, overstock, and near-expired perishables many from local stores going out of business. I remember palates of content blackened by soot from the fires they survived. We could dig through random piles of hand tools, hardware, and acres of carpeting and throw items into rickety old used carts branded to other, defunct retailers. But those days are gone and the new Ollie's treats that old model as a theme for all its location. But the buys are bigger and the stores are well organized compared to the old days. PROS: * Always Something New. * Best Value of Carpets, Cookware, and Basic Home Essentials. * Ideal Source for Your "First Apartment Starter Kit". * Frequent Big Buys of Health and Beauty Products. * Lots of Electronic Gadgets, Toys, and Games for Gifts. * Rewards Program Actually Provides Frequent Rewards and Special Offers. * Frequent Storewide Sales. They also have separate Entrance/Exit locations with two Handicapped parking areas near each, but regardless of which you pick, you have a longer distance either to or from the doors without any walkway. I tried my first experience at Ollie's yesterday and was underwhelmed, but it was still an interesting shopping experience. They are like a Kmart met Ross and BigLots, but much messier and you mostly have to hunt for deals. I wouldn't go here looking for anything specific, unless it was towels or random book gifts. They do have excellent book deals (most are Christian inspiration though). I had hoped for a greater variety of items and also lower prices. I didn't think I got anything I couldn't have found cheaper at Walmart. I don't know if I'll be back, but it is an interesting shopping experience if you have some time to peruse! read more

Excellent place to hunt a ton of things down in. Prices are great. I love that you can pick up almost anything you may need in here for the household or a gift. They have HBA supplies, books, towels, pet supplies, etc. etc. It's like what Big Lots used to be 15-20 years ago. I never went inside an Ollie's until a few months ago upon arriving in PA and now I can say they will be getting a visit from me on a minimum of a monthly visit--perhaps weekly. read more

Ollie's stores are a ton of fun as you never know what you're going to find. They often open in buildings where a previous business has closed and/or moved, so you can end up in some very tight spaces or in some really nice spaces (Former Ames/Value City's). This location is a large store and has the warehouse look that most stores have these days. Very clean and well organized store. This was the best stocked Ollie's I've been to with better selections of Books and Movies than most. As usual, if you're buying food and certain other products, watch the expiration dates. Parking lot could use a little work; it was a little tight in some ways. read more

Ollies sells discount, closeout and bargain goods. Occasionally it can be knicked, damaged or frayed. Depending on how frequently you want to use it its actually a good place to shop. Car freshners and tire cleaner can be found here. I purchased a smaller lamp for my nephews bedroom once. Carpet selection is ok, but can be haphazard. I once got a floor mat for my old toyota car for less than $5.00, who can beat that? Office supplies on the cheap, wrapping paper, holiday gifts for my nieces and nephews, etc. Update Summer 2015: I once bought a refurnished digital antenna for my brothers new home, 17.99 and it picks up 19 local stations in the Harrisburg York Lancaster area. Ollie's is a great place to find a bargain. The problem is that they have a store in every state except for where I live.... Massachusetts. I've been on vacation in both Pennsylvania and New York to find one, and saw one that was recently opened in Rhode Island, but just a tad too far away for comfort. Back in Massachusetts, we have Ocean State Job Lots and an occasional Big Lots on our many high traveled routes. The problem? Ollie's just has better items and better prices altogether. Simply put, it's the only discount store I continually never have (and hopefully never will) come out empty handed. The prices are unbeatable and every time there are always new surprises. This specific location seems to be the largest one I have been to yet with a full monstrosity of rugs, books, tech gear, beauty products, food, household supplies, cleaning supplies, linens and more. Shelves are fully stocked and throughout, the prices aren't beatable... even at Walmart. The DVD section here was especially entertaining.... the last time I ever saw a Brady Bunch Season DVD for $3.99 was never (normally, they go for around $20). The store is pretty clean for what it is, and especially organized. Don't expect everything here.... it's a deep discount store and not Nordstrom. Definitely agree with another review that people shouldn't come in here looking for something particular..... there is a varying inventory and if you are looking for something exact, go to the Kmart or Target just a few minutes down the road. Convenient location for this store on Rt 22 in Harrisburg, in a small plaza away from the huge malls and action (closer to Hershey). 5 stars though.... this place is awesome! read more

How about a Harrisburg review for old times sake? Yeah :) I had totally forgotten about Ollie's.... Ollie's is the store! Closeouts on stuff from "name brand stores" as they call them. I remember last year they had coats for 20$... and I'm not talking like cheap sweatshirt type coats... Nice coats - G Unit, Guess, Baby Phat, Calvin Klein, London Fog - those kind of coats... I may or may not have bought like 3... and I may or may not live in Florida now where they're doing me no good. You can also find lots of books, decorations for your home and day to day stuff. No sense in paying 40$ for a shower curtain when they have one at Ollie's for like 10$. This store is seriously a bargain hunter's dream, and you can usually find a circular in the paper. They also have a bonus card of sorts, but I'm not sure how it works exactly. read more

I worked 1 day for ollie's on November 10th 2021 at the new store on Kingston Pike I was stocking the shelves which some are on the floor. I'm 60 years old and the next day my knees were sore from being on them a lot so I decided this wasn't the job for me. It's been 37 days they still haven't paid me. Eddie who is one of the bosses there has been rude to me. As if he takes it personally I can't work there. Last week he said he would take care of it and call me to let me know. He hasn't called. I shopped at ollie's but I won't anymore with people like this running the stores. read more

Kinda grimey. Kinda hard to shop through. Super ghetto warehousey. ...AND I LOVE IT!!! I still have very fond memories of getting souped up on tons of coffee-flavored sugar (they have a complimentary coffee station which actually has some good tasting coffee!) as a kid when our parents werent looking before running around the store at sonic speed :-) As an adult I like to go here as an option for bargain deals. I've been going to this store for almost a year and I really enjoy looking at the stuff they have. I've bought many items here that would of cost more somewhere else. The store is organized and they don't change the main floor plan often so it's easy to find things. The employees are friendly and professional, a notch above what I've experienced in this area. I always like to check out Ollies for various things because you never know what you're going to find there and you can often find some good deals on decent branded stuff. Plus seasonally you can find some things for cheap. The problem I find with this location is the employees. The few times I've been there's been a couple of people that are just not good. The last time I was there I had a lampshade with no price on it. There were other lampshades that came with lamps but these lampshades clearly didn't go with any of the lamps. I asked for a price and the guy didn't know so he asked the other woman what the price would be and she was like "Oh no no no it goes with a lamp" And I explained that the lamps with shades were with their shades and there were no lamps for these. She didn't want to hear it. I even said "Can you show me the lamps these go with?" and she said, "The lamps they were sitting with" and I said "They weren't sitting with any lamps!" And she just stared at me. So I left it there. Then that same lady went over to a worker who was sitting on the floor by her register and said "UM didn't anyone ever tell you that there's no cell phones on the floor?" and the worker said, "I am on break". It was just a depressing exchange lol. I did leave with some cute placemats, an extension cord, and a neck pillow for cheap so I'll always return to Ollies for random things like that but the staff experience especially on this particular trip made me leave there pretty sour. read more

This is the flagship Ollies store; they noted that when I told them it was nicer than the state college one. good stuff cheap. if you come here to buy something in particular, you will be disappointed, if you come here with an open mind, you can find all kinds of useful stuff to solve problems at home and to try weird foods. do, do, do check the best by and use by dates on the foods. I think they will not sell after use by and will remove it, but they don't seem to check the shelves. why not 5 star? ehh, it's still a discount store and they got discounted. read more

I love to shop at Ollie's - closeouts, overruns, refurbished items, bankruptcy sales... Ollie's buys all kinds of crap, as long as they can buy & sell it cheap. The selection is always different, it's hit or miss but you can really get some good bargains on things for the home. Check Ollie's before you go spending a lot of money at the home store. Some of the stores are better than others, the one at Corp HQ is probably their crappiest one, it's a bit like shopping in a dungeony warehouse. Bargain hunters will delight. read more

I just picked up a Sharp 32" flat LCD TV for $380 with my 15% off coupon and they have an abundant Xmas decorating section there which I highly recommend if you are into outdoor lighting and decoration of your house. Those big blow up santas and snowmen are $20, the big blow up globes are under $70, they have the lighted wire deer and santas for $15 or under. Tons of holiday cards and toys all at great prices. I recommend becoming a "Ollie's Army" member so that you get coupons sent to you to use for even better prices. read more

It's like a Southern Maryland version of New York City's Job-Lot. It's a pretty big store. The selection is a better than a dollar store and more random than Big Lots or other discount chains. I've picked up name brand items for 80% off and they have great seasonal bargains (right now good patio furniture is super cheap). read more

Misprinted/ Mispriced labeling On December 18 I purchased Christmas lights marked 2.99 and grabbed all 8 boxes that were available on the shelf. When my wife and I got to the register checking out I noticed one marked 12.99 and stated these are 2.99. The girl at the register stated "no 12.99 the labels came off the truck that way". She then stated I can get a manager they know they are mispriced. It was extremely busy I needed the lights and I decided to pay for them and get a resolution later. On December 19 I sent an email to Ollies home office to get a resolution since I was told they mismarked the shipment that was mispriced. I received an email response that they would investigate and get back to me. (Olivia D Customer Service Rep) They did not get back to me so I sent another email to Olivia D on 1 January requesting a clarification on this purchase still waiting a response. I feel the store should have honored the price on the label. This should not have been an issue at the register. Buyers beware that items labeled one price can be sold by sku at a higher price. Also their corporate customer service seems to want things to just go away without resolution. I have not been contacted by corporate or the store to date. Bad Bad Bad read more

Ollie's is a great place to go to kill some time, just searching through all the items and bins. It's like a fun scavenger hunt. You never know if you'll find gold or not. However, you have to be careful. Make sure that everything you get is still sealed... there's some shoplifting issues and merchandise might not be all in the box, or missing a game cd. However, the deals and friendly staff make up for the occasional letdown. read more

Horrible service and false advertisement and condescending. I went to buy something from them and they both had the wrong tags on them. I told them that it was odd for two objects that were the same to have the wrong tags on them. The clerk gave me a dirty look and said yeah it is. As if i was the one who did it. All 3 pieces over there had a 6.99 tag how was i suppost to know that it wasn't right. She said that she couldn't honor the price because the upc numbers were different and they dont do that there. At this point i dont even want them anymore but i was upset because this clerk was extremely rude. So i asked to talk to the manager oh my gosh it was worse. If you don't mind searching, you'll pretty much always come out ahead of the game shopping here. The staff is friendly and can help you find the general locations of things, but to get the good stuff, you'll have to dig through books and supplies. Sometimes you'll find a good computer game, other times decent books or food. Either way, you're not going to find a better deal in the Harrisburg area. read more

I was shopping there this week on Tuesday to buy oriental rugs and a gentlemen name ONeil was assisting us with all kind of great service. Was very patient, and polite and we had to move a lot of large rugs for the one I wanted to buy. His customer service skills exceeded anyone I have ever dealt with. My wife and I have been shopping at Ollies for 3 years now. We live in Virginia Beach, Va. My issue is an incident with a coupon that clearly stated 25% off one item and we had purchased 33 of this item and they only took off 25% of 1 of the 33. I know the prices are good and the deals are great, however one item is one item and if you purchase more then one of the same it is supposed to still be the one item and therefore the discount should be on all. read more
